Guru’s flow and lyricism is unparalleled. I think he’ll always be my favorite MC. Sucks that by the time I discovered him in high school was a few months after he died. I’ll never get to see a show but I’m grateful for all the classic albums he made, guru along with big L, BIG, Nas and pac all really put me on to appreciating hip hop. Miss the boom bap era and the diggin in the crates for vinyl samples and where lyricism and flow was what it was alll about.
Side note I had a friend who was about 12 years older than me and I forget exactly how it happened but Guru was doing a show in Orlando in my hometown and he was big in the music industry at the time and he was actually sent to pick up guru from the airport and drive him around and basically make him happy. He told me right when he got picked up guru asked to go get some weed and they picked up some super fire and guru was like ya gotta smoke this blunt with me. Funny my friend was a lil Jewish white dude who ended up being a lawyer, you wouldn’t picture the two together smokin blunts. He showed me a photo of him and Guru, mad jealous he got to live thru the 90’s era and hang with a legend

Damn tears comes to my eyes as soon as I the beat drops and Guru's Flow is heard...my first Gang Starr cassette was 92's Daily Operation bumping that joint in Bay Area back in the day and I rocked with them ever since. I fucking hate Solar and that whole drama. True Hip Hop heads are blessed to get another Gang Starr joint. "Your now rocking with the best"

Sway introducin Preem with the righteous reverence one should heap onto a god of the genre who's been at the very top table for 30 years and will continue to reign over all of us mere mortals for many more to come!
