Reminds me of my brother's squirrel who had fallen out of a nest when he found it. That squirrel was a great source of enjoyment during its almost 9 years of life.

What a beautiful family!! I rescued a baby squirrel, she was much younger than Tintin still a pinky and eyes closed. I raised her up and named her Lucy. She stayed with us for 4 months until she started building her own little nest in out back yard❤ from then on she lived outside but still played with our dogs and drank out of our their little water bowl. One day the bowl was missing and wouldn't you know she stole it and took it up to her nest with her😂😂. After about 2 months she moved to a new nest in our front yard and would come to play less and less, until she became completely wild. I selfishly hoped she wouldn't but i knew it was the best life for her and im happy i was able to save her❤❤
It's amazing how such a little creature can change ones life. Tintin was a special little animal, one that was meant to be. This is proof that not all animals want/need to be with their own species. He chose you, he could walk away everyday at any given moment he wanted but he -a wild animal- chose to stay with you. That is an honor and a privelage that not many people experience. It says a lot about you and how much you cared for not only him but for every other living being that came in your care as well. I could say a lot more but I'm already crying, your story with Tintin is very close to my heart not only because I loved Tintin as well but also because of 4 bunnies I've had for past 10 years and I was very close with 3 of them. I live in England where fish and chips is a national favourite. Our family would have it for lunch on Saturdays. The birds and a squirrel would wait for a share every week and if we were late taking it out, the squirrel would come in through the cat flap demanding to know where it was. This behaviour soon became a daily thing for years.
3.35 This is such a heart warming story, it made me feel very emotional to see this cute little guy survive and thrive. It's so lovely to see humans caring like this. We need more of this in the world. I had a pet grey squirrel as a kid, he was found as a baby and this brought back some wonderful memories, thank you.
The story of Decan and Tintin has touched me incredibly deeply over the last week. Just 7 days ago I had never heard of Tintin. But now I will never forget him. Since then I have spent literally hours going back as far as this channel goes in the story. I fell in love with him and with his friend the Sheriff. Today I found out more about Coco. I also watched each little squirrel that is incredible a man has rescued. I felt nothing but joy about the whole story until I found out that many of these marvelous creatures are no longer with us. I realize that Tintin lived almost 10 years and that's a long time for a squirrel even in protected in a safe environment. I also know that when he died it was quick and painless. I hope that there is a true Rainbow Bridge. But I also felt an intense feeling of grief at his loss. We never forget an animal who has been so special in our lives. I think this new video summing up his first year is excellent because it allows all of us to start at the beginning. I hope Decan will do each year this way. I am looking forward impatiently to each new video.

They would do the same, plus you would serve a minimum of 5 years in hardcore prison for violation of the wild life protection act. Tintin was a one time permit, cause he was older than the law.

When I look at my dogs I sometimes think that their sense of identity is so wrapped up in each other that they don't realise they are separate. They get such comfort and love in being close to each other.

I love squirrels 🐿. I'd love to get close to one like you did, showing so much love. Instead I get up every morning before daylight and strategically put out unshelled peanuts, walnuts, pecans, and almonds plus sunflower seeds.and misc shelled nuts. I call them kibble food. I can watch out my window and see them scurry around the area looking for a place to bury them. They're so cute to watch. I'm sorry for your loss of Coco. Your video made me cry. It's been a little over a year since we had to let our Emily go. 17 wonderful years. Animals are so innocent and precious. Thank you for sharing. I'm so happy for Tintin. I can certainly attest to the claws. My Rupert the girl squirrel took her time deciding life around my patio was safe. Now she rules the 5 acres around the house as her Domain. No need to go very far. Momma has plenty of winter supplies and all needed for fluff baby. She comes inside now only long enough to choose which nut she's in the mood for. 😂 And to check out her old digs a bit
When I was a child my older sisters rescued a black squirrel from a cat , it's belly had big tear in it. They nursed it back to health and while healing it was totally docile , but once better didn't like being in a cage and we couldn't pet it no more , so took it out into woods and let him go.
These tiny creatures, with such bright spirits and presence , full of love. How kind you were, and how much Tintin returned the love and shared it with all of us ! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Aloha, what a wonderful video, I really enjoyed it. I was very saddened about Coco the momma cat. I have three cats now as I just took in an injured male tabby and spent the last five months nursing it back to health after someone abandoned it into the wild, forgetting that it was chipped by the Humane Society before the previous owners adopted it and then abandoned it. I am a combat US Marine suffering from PTSD’s and I find that animals is a healthy way to cope with life that has help me to outlive most of my Marine buddies. This is not something everyone would do, especially as the wildlife experts and vets wouldn't even help - except one vet. I have to say, I'm not impressed with how the wildlife folk responded, especially. Sometimes, creatures and nature in general, need our help and assistance. It is part of the reason we were created! I was able to release him back to the wild, same with a baby robin the following year! ❤ I cherish their memories & what I learned from them! This summer, I found an injured young owl on a road near where I live- I scooped him up& brought him to safety, then contacted my veterinarian 's office and they referred me to a wonderful man who is a certified redhead specialist for birds of prey. The owl had a fractured wing+ he had to wear a cast for several weeks. He is flying now& remains in rehab, with the possibility of release in future months 🦉❤

Thank you for sharing your heartwarming Story of little Tintin with us! Years ago a little squirrel followed us in the garden and we found out that it was really hungry. After a big meal of nuts which we had to open for him because it was to weak and after something to drink it went its way again. This was an experience we never forgot!

God blessed this couple with WISDOM and exceptional reverence for BOTH human AND Other species!!! Able to make life perfect for children and animals is a gift !!! I ONLY WISH WE ALL WERE so responsible and gracious!!! We encountered alternate realities as well, having to rise to unknown circumstances with Opossums and MANY Yellow German Roller canaries. These creatures seemed to demand their own lives as we had no choice but to learn!!! Not easy!!! And I was a working RN!!! My husband had to build quarters to quarantine 18 birds about to deliver eggs!!! We knew nothing!!! We had 8 existing cats/ dogs already!!! You are masterful at creating these memories!!! Oh THANK YOU!!! I have LOST EVERYONE now…..I am overcome

He's so precious 😊 Those ear tufts are so adorable. Our US squirrels don't have the fluffy ear tufts. His little sweater is cuteness overload.

Thankyou for giving this adorable and lovable little guy a chance at life - and a life that was more than worth saving!. This is not something everyone would do, especially as the wildlife experts and vets wouldn't even help - except one vet. I have to say, I'm not impressed with how the wildlife folk responded, especially. Sometimes, creatures and nature in general, need our help and assistance. It is part of the reason we were created! Well done for going out of your way to help this dear little chap so well and with such love and compassion. God bless you! ❤

I raised a baby squirrel ( grey squirrel) more than 40 years ago! I was able to release him back to the wild, same with a baby robin the following year! ❤ I cherish their memories & what I learned from them! This summer, I found an injured young owl on a road near where I live- I scooped him up& brought him to safety, then contacted my veterinarian 's office and they referred me to a wonderful man who is a certified redhead specialist for birds of prey. The owl had a fractured wing+ he had to wear a cast for several weeks. He is flying now& remains in rehab, with the possibility of release in future months 🦉❤

Years ago a little squirrel followed us in the garden and we found out that it was really hungry. After a big meal of nuts which we had to open for him because it was to weak and after something to drink it went its way again. This was an experience we never forgot!

We encountered alternate realities as well, having to rise to unknown circumstances with Opossums and MANY Yellow German Roller canaries. These creatures seemed to demand their own lives as we had no choice but to learn!!!
Not easy!!! And I was a working RN!!! My husband had to build quarters to quarantine 18 birds about to deliver eggs!!! We knew nothing!!!
We had 8 existing cats/ dogs already!!!

My son, who passed away eight years ago, loved the character. Tintin and I gave him a little Tintin doll. Now that he is on the other side, I sleep with that little doll and I travel with it everywhere I go. When I saw your video this morning, I knew it was a sign from my son in heaven.
But I didn’t realize you actually lost your beautiful, sweet little Tintin besides Mama Coco. Now my son has his own little Tintin to play with on the other side. Because I am sure your Tintin will find his way to my son to amuse him.

My children & I raised 4 baby squirrels (1 separately & 3 who came to us later) they were wonderful & slept in a huge bird cage.
