On my car, when in 2nd gear at low RPM, and release the throttle I hear a thump sound. I think it is the same mount that is causing the issue. What where the symphoms with yours?
To be honest mine wasnt broke completely so after I replaced mine I didnt got any major changes(but I hopend that it will fix some problems) As well, how you can see on the video, there is actually no vertical force on this mount if upper mounts are in good condition, but if your is totally broken, I think it is possible that engine can move a bit horizontally and this might cause some weird noises, but if it is just cracked as mine I think this wont cause thump sound. I replaced mine, because when I replaced my clutch I noticed that this mount is cracked and I just replaced it :)
@@JUrtanschannel Yes, they don't hold any vertical load, otherwise they would just break. They stop the excess horisontal movement of the engine. I looked at mine, and I can't see if the rubber is cracked, untill I remove it. The part that is important is the rubber around the hole for the bolt. That is the part of the rubber that flexes under load, and if that breaks off the engine can shift too much. I don't know for sure if that is the problem, but I will replace it. It is less than 20$ for part, so why not. When I remove the old one, I will see if that was the problem.
@@JUrtanschannel I was wrong. It was not the lower engine mount that made that sound. It was the left outer tie rod end. Not recommended doing it yourself, it gets seized as F!
Mine came loose, taking the bolt with it. I found the replacement part but would like to know the size of the bolt. Any suggestions?
cheers bruz

@@JUrtanschannel I finially had a chance to work on a car. I changed the lower mount, and after the first drive it seems to have fixed the issue.
