I've raised baby hamsters in the past and its completely okay for the babies to be in a smaller cage when they're that tiny in my personal experience. The bedding we give our hamsters is not the same thing as what hamsters would have in the wild and is much more prone to caving in. Tiny bodies aren't yet strong enough to burrow for themselves, which can cause issues if the bedding is too deep. One way to create deeper bedding thats safe, is to build Popsicle stick structures so that when the mother burrows through them, its more like a tunnel and less likely to cave in than loose bedding freely sitting in the cage. Smaller cages also encourage fearful hamsters to become more secure in their environment, as everything is closer together and much more easy to access. Baby hamsters and their mothers are fine in smaller cages and I'd argue its better than a large cage because it can be stressful for a mother hamster to raise her babies. Once the babies reach 4-6 weeks (and entirely weaned), you can transition them to a more appropriate adult size cage, along with the mother. Larger cages are great for preventing boredom, but trust me, the mother is very occupied taking care of her babies. She's not stressed or bored in there. I feel like people commenting saying they need 6 inches of bedding and the minimum requirement fail to recognize the difference between a regular hamster, and a mother raising infant hamsters. I also feel like some of the people commenting this have never actually raised baby hamsters. Its important to tailor the care needs to the individual hamster. One size does not fit all. It is very situational. The minimum requirement is best for healthy adults and baby hamsters that are at least 4-6 weeks old (6 weeks is more realistic, as they're still a bit clumsy and very tiny at 4 weeks). This is coming from someone with actual experience raising baby hamsters. I cant stress enough, the importance of individualized care.

I have earned four hamsters and lived their life amazingly because we did our research and knew what they needed, it's basic hamster care and there are VIDEOS to help. Even though they're small, hamsters need a lot to feel at home and be happy.
This is cute and all, but please provide a larger cage, larger sandbath, more toys, and safe different kinds of bedding. They will all be much happier.
not going to lie but hamster is pretty cute and easy to take care. for people who is intrested and who is really ready to own a small pet i highly recommed hamsters
easy? 1. 450 sq inch enclosure (min) 2. a balanced diet 3. a 24 cm wheel (syrians need 30 cm) 4. 7-11 inches of bedding 4.1 different kinds of bedding 5. a big enough sand bath 6. 3 or more hides 7. €100 spare for vet appointments 8. €30 on bedding when cleaning the cage where is the easy?
If they aren't, then I do agree with you that the cage is way too small and there is not enough bedding. I also think they could go to munchies places (RUclips channel) because she has lots of good information about hamsters.
This is appalling hamster care!!! And of course the mother fought cream because she was trying to protect her babies if at ANY point the mother feels stressed she will eat them!!! The male should NEVER be pit back in with the babies and you shouldn't of housed cream and cookie together in the 1st place. Dont even get me started on the cage... you also shouldn't have kept the wheel in there when the babies were born. Please do your research and dont breed hamsters because 'they are cute'!!!
Also, if you readers of this comment don't know, the mother eats the babies when it feels like they will not survive to prevend their own stress and the suffering of the baby. 😢 It is sad but true.
Just a friendly reminder, Despite dwarf hamsters not being solitary, it is STRONGLY recommended that you keep your hamsters in separate cages. Also, the cages are WAY WAY too small. 450 ( I think) square inches of floorspace NOT INCLUDING LEVELS is the bare minimum requirements for each hamsters for their cage. Any kind of cotton is unsafe for hamsters and there should be 6 inches of bedding in a cage. Also, if you still want to keep your hamsters together, then you need to multiply everything in the cage PER HAMSTER. Lets say you have 3 hamsters in one cage. You need 3 wheels, 3 food bowls, 3 water bottles, 3 chews, 3 hideaways and 3 toys. I've bred and raised multiple litters of hamsters and if you want to keep your hamsters alive and healthy, I highly recommend doing a bit of research to make sure your fur babies are as happy as can be. ;)
Cage is too small Wheel is too small Not enough bedding Bad breeding conditions Recording them fight without intervention Touching them too soon Picking them up dangerously PLEASE STOP BREEDING HAMSTERS IN BAD CONDITIONS. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE COMMITING BIG DECISIONS LIKE THIS. This is APPAULING
A small cage is better for newborns. They learn to trust their environment because they can't go far. And it's also easier for the mother because she can take care of her kids without having to travel too far. She also won't get bored of a small cage because she's busy with her kids. But of course, once they are older (4-6 weeks), they need to be separated into their own cages. I think the amount of bedding should be a bit more, but it's fine because babies can't really burrow safely anyway. Either way, much better than being raised in a pet mill..
To anyone who is unaware, in the beginning of the video there seems to be soft store bought nesting material ( not okay for hamsters or any rodent) instead put some shredded paper towels or paper bedding is fine, also regarding that the cage is too small and more bedding should be provided ( this is okay for the young hamsters for now but must be upgraded to at least a 450 square inch cage and six inches of bedding. Also please keep the hamsters separated (father and mother) they are solitary species. I could add more but that is just the gist of things. If you are thinking about getting a hamster please be aware of thier care requirements, thanks

these hamsters look really cute.. your taking good care of them i just have a couple tips.... 1. dont put the father in cuz hamsters are solitary animals they dont live with each other they start having fights and sometimes it doesnt end with a wound also u should get a larger cage its not that great for a dwarf hamster in the first place ut since she has babies its just to small
one tip is to get rid of the critter tail cage and go for a bigger cage. i realized and did my research that the critter tail cages are not suitable. i just made a bin cage out of a storage bin and my syrian hamster loves it. if you want, u could attach the critter tail cage to the storage bin cage using a critter tail tube and add more shavings and small hideouts for the hamsters and their mother!
The babies are so cute but don't put the father back in the cage since the mother gets over protective of her babies since the father COULD harm them. I can't get over how cute they look!!!!🐹

1. Do not Stress Mother
2. Keep Things Calm And Quiet
3. Check the Babies But don’t Touch Them
4. Provide Plenty of Food
5. Give Mother A Plenty Of space
6. Do not disturb for at least 7 Days or 2 weeks
After that u can keep/feed the Babies Alive
And Even Touch
I really really really love hamsters!!!!😍😍😍😍😘😘😘
I love watching the little hamster in your hand.
Never have hamsters together in th same cage they can kill theirself by an accident
I'm pretty sure it's ok when their a certain age but when they grow up they should be housed separately yeah
Awwww so cuteeeee!!!!💚💛💜💙 I LOVE hamsters
aggg i can’t take these “veterinarians” in the comments. please educate yourself before criticizing! goodness gracious
Ok but they are not being careful the cage is to small they should not touch the babies and the mom and dad were fighting NOT OK LEARN BASIC HAMSTER CARE PEOPLE
Unicorn gamer 1000 right I’m not hating but really just the basic rules of hamster care
do YOU know anything about hamster care? We should let them live how they are supposed to, the bedding and cage size is a no no, and yes, we're probably more educated on hamster care than this lady. I have earned four hamsters and lived their life amazingly because we did our research and knew what they needed, it's basic hamster care and there are VIDEOS to help. Even though they're small, hamsters need a lot to feel at home and be happy.
WOW ALL THE BABIES ARE SO CUTE AND VERY HEALTHY!!!
Hey Mr Hamster!!
You have amazing babies!!
I want to meet them. Would you like to invite me to your house? :)
Can my hamster invite them too? OwO
It's funny how mom wanted to spin on her wheel with her babies 😂😂
Que fofos 😍😍
This is cute and all, but please provide a larger cage, larger sandbath, more toys, and safe different kinds of bedding. They will all be much happier.
not going to lie but hamster is pretty cute and easy to take care. for people who is intrested and who is really ready to own a small pet i highly recommed hamsters
easy?
1. 450 sq inch enclosure (min)
2. a balanced diet
3. a 24 cm wheel (syrians need 30 cm)
4. 7-11 inches of bedding
4.1 different kinds of bedding
5. a big enough sand bath
6. 3 or more hides
7. €100 spare for vet appointments
8. €30 on bedding when cleaning the cage
where is the easy?
Your hamsters need at least 6 inches of bedding and there cage is too small watch Victoria raechels channel P. S. cream and cookie are so so cute! 💕🐹
It's true hamhams need to burrow
They are babies, when they get older they will probobly be transitioned to a bigger cage with more bedding
If they aren't, then I do agree with you that the cage is way too small and there is not enough bedding. I also think they could go to munchies places (RUclips channel) because she has lots of good information about hamsters.
This is the cutest video ever lol :3
While this is a cute video, PLEASE would you clean out the Hamster & Babies WATER BOTTLE! ::::Sad face::::
Bruhh...
There SO CUT OMG! I LOVE THEM
i was gifted a hamster when i was kid but he run away in a bus through a broken bar on a cage
Why was he on a bus?
They are so cute. My bearded dragon loves them!
OH MY WORD!
That's the intended purpose of all rodents. Hamsters are like candy to beardies and other pet reptiles. Nothing tastes cuter!
@@DamonNomad82 Lol
you shoud take the wheel off it may hurt the babies
STOP CRITICIZING
@@caduconnor9697 not "criticizing" it is a advice
..... mhmm
Beautiful hasters I loved the video
Omg gorgeous babies ❤️
PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH. IF YOU DID YOU WOULD KNOW HOW MANY RED FLAGS POP UP IN THIS VIDEO.
Wow so smart at such a young age. I wouldve panicked at not knowing what to give them to eat being so small.
the cage is to small for them
It’s not to small for baby hamsters when they grow bigger they’ll have to get a bigger cage
I've bred and raised multiple litters of hamsters and if you want to keep your hamsters alive and healthy, I highly recommend doing a bit of research to make sure your fur babies are as happy as can be. ;)
Cage is too small
Wheel is too small
Not enough bedding
Bad breeding conditions
Recording them fight without intervention
Touching them too soon
Picking them up dangerously
PLEASE STOP BREEDING HAMSTERS IN BAD CONDITIONS.
It's cute, I like it 🥰🐹🐹🐹

you have a pregnant hamster??? THATS SO CUTE
@@jennaw3088 yeah there so cute
these hamsters look really cute.. your taking good care of them i just have a couple tips.... 1. dont put the father in cuz hamsters are solitary animals they dont live with each other they start having fights and sometimes it doesnt end with a wound also u should get a larger cage its not that great for a dwarf hamster in the first place ut since she has babies its just to small
oh that cage...... please upgrade to at least 450 square inches
Really Very funny and cute little Hamsters..
Awww so cute congratulations
Thats so cute!!! ☺️😘🤩😍🥰❤️
Hi, do baby hamsters bite you? Is it better to have a big or small hamster?
one tip is to get rid of the critter tail cage and go for a bigger cage. i realized and did my research that the critter tail cages are not suitable. i just made a bin cage out of a storage bin and my syrian hamster loves it. if you want, u could attach the critter tail cage to the storage bin cage using a critter tail tube and add more shavings and small hideouts for the hamsters and their mother!
They are just too cute!
What time of hamsters are these? Winter white? Or what
They are adorable 😍😍😍 I have 2 winter white dwarf hamsters Bella and Oreo my too babies 😁
