This man was legend of the late night shows. God i miss this fella very much...
Best interviewer I've ever seen. If you have ever been on one of these programs, you'd know that they have a walk-through session prior to the show. On camera, you are pretty much just repeating yourself. Craig Ferguson didn't do that. The conversations were spontaneous. And he really made his guests come alive in them.

I have a hard time thinking of something that excuses this level of unpreparedness.
She had been on a show that Craig hosted that WAS cancelled.
Sometimes (not saying this is one of those) they will deliberately say some wrong fact in order for the person to correct them and give them a tasty quoted headline such as... Craig Ferguson confesses: "My show wasn't cancelled"

The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson was never cancelled by CBS. In fact CBS wanted him to stay at 12.37am, and follow Colbert - he decided ten years was enough, and left. His show was never cancelled.
The interviewers were just morons.

Craig may be one of the only people that could interview Desmond Tutu, Robin Williams and Paris Hilton and manage to make all three entertaining.
He was the best - a comedic genius with a quick wit! Was sad to see it end. But with RUclips, you can always revisit. I wish him much happiness in the future.

I still watch the old interviews from his show, they were so much fun, he always put so much energy into it -- he's easily one of the best talk show hosts ever. He should still be doing it if you ask me, he spoke to interesting people, who else would have Dennis Hopper on, Alice Cooper, Billy Connolly, Stephen Fry, Helena Bonham Carter and all those other hot ladies he spoke to?, it was a great show 10 out of 10.
Me too and agreed,... at least we had a good taste. He brought a totally fresh angle to the US "Chat Show" scene and ran it brilliantly. All the best Craigy.
And he never read the prepared interview questions given to him. He never does interviews, it's conversations and there we all were eavesdropping on two friends casually talking about anything and everything under the sun!
He was always willing to acknowledge boobs too. Most men would love to pull that off without seeming creepy. or cancelled...

I didn't really come to appreciate the genius of Craig Ferguson's late late show until after it was canceled. I am thankful I can still watch his genius on line. No one interviews the lovely ladies quite like Ferguson.
HIS SHOW WAS NOT CANCELLED!! The Late Late Show has been on a lot longer than when he began and ended his time as host. He quit doing the show BY CHOICE just as Jay Leno and Johnny Carson quit hosting The Tonight Show.

I miss Craig, Geoff and Secretariat. I loved the whole show, especially when Craig sang the theme song on cam. This was a great show and it made me laugh a lot too. Fire this clown James Corden. He isn't in Craig's league. Bring back Craig, Geoff and Secretariat. I would definitely start watching this program again.

A LOT of people "never saw the show". Craig like to point out that the only reason it continued was that it was recorded in a basement and the network didn't care what happened after midnight.
Craig was terrific on "Late Late." A true original. Ten years is a long time and Craig made the decision that was best for him. Congratulations on a great run!
The absolute funniest show I've ever seen was Craig's. I'm 62 and remember well, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. It was really great and I'll remember that, but TRULY Craig's show was SO funny, and he engaged his guests so well. Seeing him and Robin together was.... just an absolute joy. Two comedic supermen.

I just finished the book. The last chapter, where he recalls one of his relatives who moved to America as a young woman, is a masterpiece of poignant writing and powerful observation. Just blew me away!
My introduction to RUclips back around '06 was searching clips from the Late Late Show. Loved Craig.
Bought his new book. Not finished with it and it already made me laugh. Love this man.

I miss him on the Late Late Night space. The best one to do it.
I loved his show, but never got the chance to watch it regularly (Truck driver and all, you know), so watching the various RUclips channels that have clips and compilations of The Late Late Show is very cool and provides hours of laughs, even 15 years on. His interview ending shtick of offering choices to the guest (Harmonica, piece of fruit, awkward pause, etc. ) were HILARIOUS and unique, not to mention his use of puppets. "Wavy" and the others, including Sid, the cussing rabbit were just simply late night TV gold.
It’s actually international nurse week this week 2020. Craig’s still gold.
It was very very difficult for me to stay awake for the LLS but it was always so worth it!!!

Coming from a late night addict who saw most hosts starting with Carson around 1967 my favorite was Steve Allen who started it all. Thought Allen was the best in the 20th century and then I found Ferguson or as like to refer to him as Steve Allen 2.0. Greatest compliment I could give to Craig what he got away with on his show was Allenesque!
I binge watch Late late late shows on youtube all the time. It is a good outlet for humor & seeing lovely women. I absolutely adore Kristen Bell.
And the men, too. The fact is, celebrities can be super hot.

i probably discovered him about four years into his run. he was clearly some kind of genius at stand-up. Sometimes his monologue would last for half an hour! and was clearly improvised! then, as time went on, he began to tire slowly. Toward the end he seemed a bit sad, though i thought he tried to hide it. I miss him and his show. he was more whimsical than anybody on now. anybody who does puppets has me from the get-go. maybe he'll find a venue to come back someday. he had bags of talent. the truth is america didn't give him the shot he deserved. if they could have forgotten the foreign accent they would have quickly realized they had a comic gold mine on their hands. he had a successful run but he should have been huge.
