Thanks again 😁 diesel heater is working spot on and helped us carry on our journey in Scotland really appreciate it and was really good to meet you both! 😁
I know exactly what you mean with breakdowns, we've been motorhoming fir less than 5 months and so far we've needed a new clutch, front discs and pads and now our wind out awning is buggered BUT we wouldn't change it for the world 😎
Hi John, I have the exact same van as you and recently had the exact same warnings on the dash (check engine, adblue etc), my OBD reader came up with NOx heater circuit bank 1 and so replaced the NOx sensor that cost £200 and it’s been perfect since, fitted it myself (10 minute job) not had to visit a garage for any reprogramming of ecu etc. all the best 😊
Glad you both had a wonderful time, Yes, Very cold. I would not of expected the weather at the beach to be so nice. Looking foward to more, thanks for sharing.
My microcamper kept having the engine management light coming on, numerous garages didn’t solve the problem, found it was the fuel, being putting premium diesel in and is sweet as a nut now. Lovely scenery, nice see you together😊
Such beautiful scenery. Well done John fixing Mandys heater. Nice hat Mandy. Perfect finish with Emily and Lou along with all the innuendos . Have a amazing time in Scotland x
Brilliant Scotland again. I know Dumfries and Galloway quite well. Nice to see you both back on the old channel. The spoiler for next week looks fun. Fanny is going to get cleaned out. 😂
I'm a local and wasdale is my favourite valley it's not as busy as the likes of borrowdale as it's a bit further off the beaten track 😊 enjoy your content guys 👍😊
We've been up here for 6 weeks. In the outer Hebredies the weather has been amazing. Our diesel heater packed up but luckily had spare parts, but we've had lighting problems and still have. Lost all our side running lights headlights and indicators plus have no dash dials Hazard and break lights work fine.we have been driving during the day and parking up before dark. Will call green flag when we hit the main land tomorrow. Happy travels. We will look out for you . 👋👋👋
If its a ducato its probably a 10 amp fuse in the fuse group under the dash. I had a similar problem recently when a pebble jammed the powered step and it blew the fuse, as the step takes its power from the fuse that feeds the dash and a few other items. Just a possible for you.👋
. If you have been using the engine on idle to heat up your van you may have blocked up your DPF so follow the guidelines in the handbook to try to clear it before seeking professional help it normally means running at a constant speed around 60 mph with a fully warmed up engine for at least 30 minutes, if it is cold outside block off most of your radiator grille as you may struggle to get the engine warmed up and remember to remove the cover afterwards. Citroen actually recommend a cover over the front grille if you are only doing short trips in cold weather ( below 5 c ) or are using a vehicle in constant cold weather. Put a note on your dash to remind you if you cover the grille, a piece of good 600d nylon sheet and some cable ties should do a good enough short term job. Ad blue does not like the cold and some EU vehicles actually have a heater for the ad blue tank as standard ( some EU Ford vans do ) . There are some ad blue stabilizers on the market so a flush and clean of your system with a white vinegar mix then refill with new ad blue and stabilizer should see you through the winter.
I was going to mention you were pretty near the Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies but I saw a comment saying you were a week behind so you are likely well past there now. 😅 It has been unusually cold for this early in the winter so good you both have a good heater now.
@@johnmandy Look forward to seeing different venues from the usual Scottish visitors. Completely off topic but maybe you could advise any tourists you talk to about the very low alcohol limit in Scotland. I feel sad that some don’t realise, particularly if they have been in the south, and could get caught out. Cheers 🍻
Nox sensors are a pain. I have a trafic van for work and it has 2. Had to have them both replaced and not cheap. My campervan is old school and doesn't have them. Good luck newer vans can be a pain.
Not sure what date this video relates to but if you are stuck I have a large workshop in Central Scotland John if you need to do some repairs, just let me know. Enjoy your travels and stay safe. Thanks for sharing. 👍❤
John we had a brand new 2018 Autosleeper Kingham with the Peugeot 2.0 BlueHDi engine (same as yours) we had the same adBlue warnings and EML, the first time it turned out to be the EOLYS tank and injector, EOLYS is another substance used along with adBlue.
Hari OM Yippee, it's so good to have you here in the Bonny Land! The weather will dump on you, cuz that's what it does around here... but it will be fun nonetheless. YAM xx
Wanlockhead is a strange place. Seems so remote but not really that far from the M74. Reminds me of Dungeness in it's remoteness/closeness to civilisation. The pub is a bit odd as well, very wooden inside if I recall correctly. Crawick Multiverse (A76) is worth a visit on your way north.
As for routers it is usually just the power supply that fails (or capacitors if it's really old). But perhaps it was driven directly on 12V, then it could have been over powered by the alternator at some point as it reach closer to 15 volt.
Hi John, I’ve got the same van as you and also had the same issues with Adblue. I ultimately used Yorkshire DPF centre to fix my problem after weeks of frustration. If you need any more information just ask 👍🏻
@@johnmandy First they remapped the ECU and it was ok for a week then it kept saying the adblue is low even though I’d filled the tank, then I got a message saying the van will not restart in x amount of miles so the clock was ticking, I took it back to them and ultimately they removed the ecu, took it to their workshop and totally remapped the adblue out of the system. It still passes mot etc as it doesn’t affect the emissions.
@@johnmandy the other option is a new adblue tank but they cost about £1000 I’m told but I’ve never checked for sure. It’s evil stuff, a friend spilt a load on his garage floor and it kept seeping back out in crystal form for weeks afterwards despite cleaning and repainting, imagine what it’s doing to all the components it comes into contact with.
Hi Mandy 👍 just us 2 saying hi .👋 Thanks for sharing these stopover.with us ,👍 as we are planning to do the south west coast of Scotland in march 2024 👋den and sue 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚐🚐🚐
Hi john, my boxer van had the same nox fault it was a bit of a night mare to fit! The sensor had welded. Rusted its self in place. !!!! Now ok. What router do you have now?
That was a great video guys, very enjoyable. Thanks for the ebay tip, but how did you arrange the pick-up destination? Did you arrange with a local establishment first? I'm intrigued 🤔. I hope you get the van sorted, although I sense there may be another Gadget John sub series regarding this mystery van issue 🧐. Loved the shots of Wass Dale, we camped in our T25 at the National Trust site towards the head of the Dale a few years ago. Its a fine spot and with a good pub at the head of the valley that does food, There's a great atmosphere there in amongst the walkers, campers and locals. Take care👋
When you buy something on eBay you can choose delivery or collection, under collection you pop a postcode in and it shows the locations you can collect the parcel from. It’s really easy 🙄 Hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to take a better look under my van soon.
I’ve a 2022 Ducato, the check engine warning seems to come on when my adblue gets to half tank, sometimes resets straight away sometimes overnight…very strange.
I thought it could be a level issue so topped up just 1,000 miles since I last filled it up, but it only took a small amount and it still shows the errors.
Good call swerving the walk up Sca Fell (locally pronounced Scar as in car or by some ‘score’ - not that it really matters). As a local wish more folk applied same common sense. Great vlog as always.
So lovely to see you two travelling together and looking so happy! ❤
Thank you 🥰
