- NEW KOBALT XTR 1/2'' IMPACT WRENCH (I Can't Believe They Did This) In this video we unbox and test the new KOBALT XTR 1/2'' impact wrench (KXIW 1424A-03) and I can't believe they did this! This new 1/2'' high torque impact wrench from KOBALT has 1200 ft-lb of nut busting torque, a brushless motor, 3 different torque settings, and anti vibration technology. KOBALT also includes their new Ultimate Output 4.0 A-H battery, which has 21700 cells inside. Let us know your thoughts on the new 1/2'' high torque XTR impact wrench from KOBALT in the comments section below!
Since watching you guys I've went from Ryobi system tools and just went and bought the Kobalt 1/4 in impact and hammer drill combo from Lowes yesterday and boy I'm serious impressed with these 24 v tools
I bought one and did work at all just the led worked took it back to lowes and got me another one and it doesn't work I wonder why I bought new charger and new battery and charged for 18 hour until light came green and still won't work
I love my XTR kit and everything else I've spent all my money on
@@leslylopez7789 strange, I've bought 2 Kobalt 24v tools and no problems at all.
Man I love seeing Kobalt putting out this new line of tools. Been pretty impressed with what I’ve seen so far
Man Kobalt has just gut checked the top tool brands with their 24v max tools. Seems to be a good quality product at a good price
.... great video again bro. Keep up the good work 💪👍
I just picked it up on 6-7-2020. I been using it alot at work . it rips semi truck lugnuts right off. Im a diesel mechanic and i been trying it out on u-bolts ,lugnuts, and anything i think it won't loosen but it surprisis me and does the job. Great so far plus if you buy before August you get a free 4amp battery plus the one included with the kit.
Defiantly want to see this against the Milwaukee and rigid :)
not sure if it would be a fair comparison for the ridgid because the mid torque ridgid has alot less power and the high torque model has way more power than this kobalt does...the ridgid mid torque 1/2 inch is only a variable speed trigger impact while the kobalt has 3 speeds....you really can only test the mid torque ridgid vs this kobalt...the high torque would kill the kobalt in testing
I would like to see it go up against all your best competitors.....see how it does, and yes make them equally at the same. If it's high torque, then let the competitor be high torque as well.
@@Jaime-di1qk this new kobalt impact is not high torque so you cant put it up against another brand that is high torque...only a mid torque can be a more fair comparison
kingofthecrease30
This is Kobalts high Torque entry.
@@juanc5149 not high torque compared to milwaukee & ridgid with 1100-1200 ft lbs of fastening torque
Would love to see this against Milwaukee 1/2 high impact
This is a job for AvE...👍👍👍
I would like to see this as well
Yeah with milwaukee 2767 impact wrench.
And don't forget about the dewalt 1/2 impact XR
I have the xtr and the milwaukee half inch high torque the milwaukee is def more powerful the xtr is right on par with the dewalt high torque and a little better feeling in the hand in my opinion
I bought mine when it first came out. I've used it plenty of times and it's a beast. The power is phenomenal
Just got mine today I love them already
I love the Kobalt line of tools ..they've never let me down!
I just bought this impact its a BEAST you guys! This thing does not mess around its beefy to its definitely not for tight spaces but it has plenty of power!👍👍
Glad to see you bust out the big impact. Im sure the trailer lugs would be a good test, but, if your looking for some really rusty bolts. Stretch out on your creeper and get up under the truck and have a go at some muffler u bolts. That one is the last of the XTR line I need to get. And yeah, after dropping the composite blade on the circ saw for the steel jobs. It has been on every job site since.
Just rotated my tires with mine today. It did very well. I have the whole XTR line, and I’m really impressed with all of the tools.
VCG is the best!! Thanks for listening to your followers!! Keep up the outstanding work guys!!
Thanks Cuz! 👍🏻
People can say what they want about Kobalt cordless tools, fact of the matter is they can compete with the much more expensive alternatives at a very affordable price. Respect 👍🏽
Great vid vcg. That looks like a great impact wrench 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Lowes has this kit and the older model for $199 on sale. I went with this one. I returned my Ryobi tool kit. Only thing I kept was the Ryobi 3/8 Ratchet because it was a free gift. I bought two 1.5amp PBP002 batteries with a charger.
I'm definitely going to stay with Kobalt for now.
Would like to see if this can remove crank pulley bolt off from a Honda engine. ☺️
Mine just arrived yesterday it’s replacing a amazon brand work-pro impact wrench. My friend had the old one and i was amazed at the breakaway power. I saw this on one sale got it delivered.
Nice! I would like to see if maybe on a TTR 🛠
My hat comes in Monday and I’m looking forward to repping the Very Cool Gang where ever I go.
Great vid Vince, TTR for sure against Milwaukee, Rigid, DeWalt
👍🏻
Need a tool truck dog in the fight. Snap on beats them all
@@cantalopedrank8697 not really - I have DeWalt and it's already same as snapon - Milwaukee kills them both
Grucha Killa you’ve personally have directly compared all three of them?
@@cantalopedrank8697 yes we have (had) all 3 - I mean Kobalt is not totally bad but quality is not what you expect - if you use it on every other weekend or so it might be ok
Looks like Kobalt XTR is giving the same tool warranty and battery warranty as Milwaukee very Nice
I own the new XTR Impact Wrench and I actually wish they offered a bag and maybe an option to go charger less for a cheaper price. The blow mold case is huge!
Great feedback Victor that would be awesome!
I was complaining about the case the impact came in also. Yesterday I bought the circ saw SMH You could hide a body in that damn thing. Way too much. I even walked through the store looking for a bag but no luck
Got my VCG hats yesterday on my birthday. Best hats in the game baby!
Happy Birthday Cuz!! 👍🏻
I would like to see if it can do truck lug nugts torqued to 450ftlbs and how many can it do on a single fully charged battery
Very Impressive. A lot of power though. My m12 Stubby Impacts are more powerful than my Kobalt 24V compact impact wrench. I do my own car/Truck repairs. Don’t think I would need that much power most times.
I'm deciding between this kobalt xtr and the Milwaukee m18 fuel, I would love to see a vs. video.
Put it up against the Milwaukee and DeWalt 1/2 ??
TTR please! I love mine and would love to see it in a TTR. Mechanics watch your show, so we would love to see impacts going head to head
That thing looks like a monster. As in installation and remodeling contractor I do not have much use for something that powerful, but I am a fan. Here is a thought. Vince in your area if there are any old commerical or industrial structures with old rusty steel cross members lagged together. That would be a great test for that impact. Also if there is any on going demolition in your area I am sure there would be a bunch of debris to text it on.
I use mine for big lag bolts when I'm building decks. The power is legit
That's awesome, I want to see how it does with axle nuts...and to put up against Milwaukee 1/2 inch..great vids 👍
I did ball joints on a f250 yesterday with it...it has balls for sure.
I picked one up. It will take lugs off of Bus and Truck Tires. Ours are Torqued at 450 ft lbs. I am pleasantly surprised with the performance so far. Hopefully it will last longer than my Matco Impact.
Keep up the great Videos and demonstrations! 👍🧰👍
❤️
cant wait for TTR
Love my Kobalt Tools non-xtr
I want to see this thing taking off rusty u bolts or some leaf spring mounts
Can you do a video on the ridgid octane high torque impact wrench its cheaper than the millwaukee and has more power and better in every spec except size and weight
Awesome video. I would like to see what it can do on rusted suspension parts on a car or truck. I would also like to see what you think of the kobalt 3/8 inch cordless impact gun. Keep up the good work.
I just bought this for $199.00 and its turned out to be well spent
I just bought this kit yesterday and am excited to use it this Saturday to work on my car. How have yours held up so far, and is it still going strong?
The new XTR Kobalt line is insane for the power you get at the price point.
I have this impact and it's an absolute beast
kobalt 1/2'' xtr impact vs Milwaukee 1/2'' impact!!!!!!!!!
Which the best??
@@jjjj-rm3mr while I really like my kobalt XTR I have used both the Milwaukee and the kobalt. While both are powerful enough I believe the milwaukee maybe slightly stronger. Not to mention it's also a little smaller which is sometimes nice.
If money isn't a factor and you need every little bit of torque you can get,buy the milwaukee. If you want something that is strong and priced well get the Kobalt XTR.
Both brands stand behind their tools for years.
Adequate for farm use? Debating between this impact and the Milwaukee Fuel
Definitely want to see it in my tool collection!
I just bought the DeWalt XR 1/2 inch impact wrench and I'm curious to see a head to head with the Cobalt XTR impact wrench.
I'm going to get one of these and take it to work. See how it holds up to daily mechanic use.
Even a nice case 😲
Very impressive!! Kobalt continues to make themselves known! I'd love to see this compared to the Milwaukee High Torque 1/2" impact wrench 2767 or 2863. Although this XTR is more comparable to the Milwaukee 2766 or 2862, but the latter pair has pin detents, while the former pair have friction rings. The former pair has more torque at 1400 ft lbs of nut busting torque, while the latter pair has 1100 ft lbs of nut-busting torque.
Great video, as always!
Those #s are inflated on Milwaukee, I have 2 2767s and they will not tighten anything down close to a 1000ftlbs, nor take off track bolts that are at 800+ ftlbs on a tq to yield bolt
This impact wrench half inch that you're talking about can you put a digital impact torque adapter will it destroy it. Or will it accommodate the adapter settings that you put on it
I'm not sure about that James but we will make that happen soon!
I have tool, it’s awesome haven’t found anything as of yet that it won’t remove.
Great video guys! I would love to see Milwaukee 2767-21 ( or similar kit) VS. the Kobalt xtr impact. I've tried my kobalt 24v impact tools for
automotive work, was better off with breaker bars. So I'm hoping for a little more with this XTR Kobalt impact. Thanks for all the videos they have helped me decide what's crap and what is not. Thanks again!
Would live to see this XTR take some bolts and lug nuts off of a truck or trailer as well as a TTR Vince @vcgconstruction
Kobalt just released a 3/8" right angle impact wrench. As for the 1/2" impact I'd like to see it deal with rusty bolts.
Just bought one. I got it for auto and wheel rotation. Just wanted to see how it worked for you.
Thanks for the feedback Jeff! Let us know how it holds up for you!
Very nice demonstration and informative video Vince looks like its a beast @vcgconstruction
Pretty cool to see the new XTR tools, but I don’t know, the sound just seems , quiet, “small”.....compared to the tool. Maybe it was edited in post🤔
Would def like to see some more testing, cuz that’s where it matters✌🏼
Kobalt vs Milwaukee m18 fuel torque impact!
Una bestia, totalmente sorprendido solo le falta que llegue a la Argentina,
Nice video. I would like to see it taking out semi truck lugnuts
thanks for doing this im goona get it now
Let's see Kobalt vs Dewalt XR vs Milwaukee
I just purchased the Dewalt XR but it was a choice between the Kobalt, Dewalt & Milwaukee . Milwaukee is the best choice but for price it was a coin toss between kobolt & dewalt and then the sales happened at Lowes which made Dewalt worth buying over Kobalt because I got a bunch of batteries for half price
That impact gun looks huge, what's the size difference to it's competition?
The Milwaukee half inch high torque can take semi lugs off see if that one can
user reviews coming out say yes
Cool outro 1776 worldwide!
Good Steve
I really like my cordless IR impact but I also paid about twice as much as the sticker price on this. The price definitely is right on the rigid even if I wouldn't trade my IR for 2 of them.
is ttr cancelled again?
If that'll do 750tq tighten, that's better then the 2767 Milwaukee! My Milwaukee will only tighten down to 525-580ftlbs when doing track bolts on machines, I have 2 2767s and they both were pretty close, with in 5-10ftlbs
Usually when I do lug nuts on the big trucks, 5sec of impacting once the nut stops is right around 490-520ftlbs
TTR
Milwaukee 2767-20 vs Ingresoll Rand w7152
I want you guys to get some MASSIVE bolts, torque them down with this thing, and see which Milwaukee it takes to bust them apart.
Thanks for letting us know operator 801 we will make it happen!
@@VCGConstruction YESSSSSSSS...
Rusted lug nut removal from a semi truck or motorcoach. They're usually torqued to 500 foot pounds by the 'tire guy'.
Hey Vince you said there's links to buy the merch in the description I didn't see them there seems like you accidently left them out
Would like to see it against the Milwaukee, that would be a great TTR
I had mine for a month and a half returned it due to it litterly falling apart bolts coming out it started to whine and trigger was intermittent it maybe be good but only for a hobby mechanic I used it every day taking off tires and everything else and it failed
Max torque is 650 ft lbs from what I see on their website. Not sure about that 1,200.
You're looking at the specs for the older impact version, not this new XTR impact. The older version is still available at Lowes and with a rating of 650 ft lbs will handle pretty much anything a home user might run into. It's also a bargain at the current sale price of $169, including a 4AH battery and charger. With almost twice the rated torque, multiple speeds, and a price of $269, this new XTR is also bargain priced, especially with the current inclusion of an additional 4AH battery with purchase.
Great for the occasional mechanic....there's a reason why professionals use the stuff off the tool truck...
Let's see a TTR on this soon!
Thank you for the feedback! Great idea we will make that happen!
I can’t even find this thing in my local Lowe’s stores. It’s not on the website.
They dropped the price to $199 and discontinued it. I drove 200 miles to buy one as all the local stores were sold out. Search stores online further out. But hurry!
Kobalt is the bomb! yeah I said it now deal with it!
U need to go to a junk yard with some 33mm or 1 5/16 and bigger sockets and see what it can do on big rigs lug nuts or even a machine bone yard
Looks good minus the hog ring. Considering they work in over time I was disappointed to see it looked like the socket came off pretty easy already and it even looked like it came off completely on that last lag when you ran it in speed 3 and went to pull it off. Definitely looked like the socket came off the anvil. Other then the hog ring it looks like a good tool. Time will tell on durability. Thank you for sharing with us, XTR line really is a game changer so far for Kobalt. Mount Laurel NJ here! Love your guys reviews!
That will happen to any impact friction ring if you try to pull off at an angle
Kevin Blackwell yea that’s true. I guess it just seemed a bit loose even when Vince was pultting the socket on and off. My M18 Mid Torque came very tight and perhaps I’m just use and more adjusted to that. It just seems a little loose and it could totally be subjective on my part so I understand where your coming from.
I have it and it's never come loose on me. It fits my impact sockets really good
ckcuev Awesome that’s excellent to hear! The XTR line really came out of nowhere and so far it’s performance has been great especially at the price point they have it at. Very curious to see how durable the tool is in the long run and maybe even see some new tools being released. So far though they’ve all been solid! Definitely look forward to seeing more from Kobalt.
@@tylerantonietti355 so far so good. My personal opinion is that it's very well built. Quality product. They definitely feel good about long lasting. I'm in some power tool lines. These xtr tools are beastly. They're so well priced I got a bunch of people to buy the kits. They absolutely love the tools. For the money there's no other tool line that can compete with contractor grade tools for the money.
Which battery is cheaper, kobalt or ridgid?
I'll probably wait until Milwaukee responds with an updated revision of their high torque as well as new-size cells in their own batteries.
I'm from Aus so I won't see the Kobalt, but I think once Milwaukee does an update it'll gutter-stomp this.
Milwaukees current impact can stomp this they dont need an update to go against this
I have a question that maybe someone could answer for me. This beast has 1200ft-lbs of breakaway torque, so would this be safe to use on regular car lug nuts or would it break the bolt or something bc of the intense torque?
stop by any auto shop and borrow some large metric nuts and bolts so you can do a proper face off. On separate note, I have learned that the "ultimate output" battery only uses 6 cells vs the old style ""extended run" w/ 12x 18650 cells would appreciate your thoughts on that. Can we expect an 8.0 xtr battery soon???
6ah xtr and 8ah xtr batteries coming this summer. I believe next month
Wish we could get kobalt in Australia
Exciting!!
tool test raw against the milwaukee high torque 1/2 inch impact
COBALT RIGHT ANGLE IMPACT 3/8 . THANKS
How about a Honda crank bolt
Dude the Milwaukee fuel 1/4 inch impact driver slams those big screws down faster then that thing does.
Honestly hate kobalts handtools after how many I've seen break but im curious about this
Would like this ago against Ingersoll Rand...
Test the impact wrench for break-away torque
“But nusting”😂😂
During this time to Father’s Day if you buy the 5 piece combo kit you get a free 4 amp high out put battery.
Maybe compare it with Milwaukee and earthquake with rusty bolts. that's the use of a mechanic
Poor kobalt🤣 a better comparison would be store brand vs store brand, Kobalt vs Ryobi while Milwaukee sits back and laughs at the show😂
Earthquake is a turd, its #s are on par with a 2767 Milwaukee, which those numbers are highly inflated..your lucky to tighten down a track bolt to 600ftlbs with the Milwaukee lettingit hammer for a min, it won't touch them taking them off when they are at 425ftlbs + 3/4turn
im not sure i got the same one in the video mine seems alot smaller then the one u have
TTR against M18 fuel is an obvious one that everyone will ask for.
But what I really want is to see this compete against a Ryobi or Ridgid because those are a closer price point.
I highly doubt anyone will be switching from Milwaukee to Kobalt, (even if Kobalt eked out a win in TTR by the skin of its teeth) what they're targeting is the guys currently using or looking to buy in Ryobi/Ridgid lower end price range
TTR Kobalt vs Makita 1/2” impact wrench!! They have about the same numbers
I want to see it remove a Honda crank pulley bolt.
