Personally i like that the destructible objects slow you down a lot, it incentivizes clean driving

Dude it was such a good game, I wish I still have my PlayStation so I could get me a copy of it. It has such good graphics especially for the time that it came out, and it's really sad that we haven't gotten another one.
Sadly its one of the few PS4 exclusives out there, and I never had consoles. But iam hoarding an ISO since a few years now and hope that PS4 emulation does big steps in the next two years :)

Unbound upscales to 4k. It won't even run raw 4k 60 on a PC with better hardware then your consoles and I played both on XSX and PC.
the fact you immediately get put up in a hotel room makes me fear there's no house system like the last 2 games. idk if this was confirmed or not but being able to buy increasingly swankier houses was just another great and unique feature

As someone who refuses to pre-order any games, it makes me not want to buy a game when a company does shady shit like this. Demos and betas should be available to everyone and used as a way to entice people to want to buy your game
Well this is another problem with online only and live service, they often can't support opening it up to everyone by this point in development and testing. Or it's at least a "good" excuse for it being limited and behind a paywall.
The vibes in TDU2 with the penthouse party, Ibiza and stuff was just soo different...

I seriously don’t understand why game developers thinks “futuristic = cool” I’m seriously tired of seeing all of these “futuristic” stuff in open world games, they are doing these stuff just to make their game look and feel “unique” but it backfires and makes the game look cheap, like a cheap mobile game imo. And I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who thinks like that, even Rockstar understood that these stuff are not what players want and stopped adding futuristic stuff to the game, yea TDU was supposed to be a game about high life but Imo this is not how it was supposed to be.

Agreed, they should just focus on the snob, rich, luxury type of vibe. The old tdu starting in an mansion party and then driving a California really captured that vibe. All this futuristic stuff is really throwing me off
It’s literally in Hong Kong 😂. Hong Kong and a few other Chinese cities have this Cyberpunk vibe about them. Fits the game perfectly to have the futuristic vibe added.
I kinda feel everything they do (the futuristic theme, the instant hotel suite, etc.) is geared more towards kids and people who want instant gratification instead of grinding.

Should've been fucking delayed. Hell, it costs 21,99$ for me on Steam and still isn't gonna buy it cause it looks cheap, plays cheap and runs horribly.
The console beta is an old build, the newer build was shown by alexvii and much of it is improved, such as smoke effects, handling, visuals, etc.
People will say it's nothing like tdu, but that's straight up wrong. Tdusc brought back clubs, frim, instant challenges, wrecks, car functions, etc.

That's what I always say. The game lacks the soul of tdu. The hard-core defenders of the game will surely come out again now and say that the features will all be added at some point. Okay. Then let me know when the game is complete. I won't buy it until it is.
It will be like The Crew and FH games, boring after a 2-4 weeks, desperately reliant on 'updates' to drag players back for milking, and leaving no memorable impact on players due to being another hollow open world with cars dropped in it. No true car enthusiasm, no personality or style, no energy, no classic soundtracks, and no creativity. Just a live service with a 5-10 year plan.

The fact we waited 6-8 years for a TDU Game & we get this. The only way I’ll buy this game is if most the things that is wrong with this game is fixed at launch. All it is right now is a cheap wannabe futuristic Forza mixed with Motorfest. It’s sad because we waited so long & this is not near close 2 the 1st 2.
To be honest, I don't know what's in favour of this game at the moment. I'm also an old fan of the Test Drive series. I don't know. Practically all the features that make Test Drive for me will be added at some point in the future (or maybe only some of them). You should always be careful with promises made by developers.

Remember those games ran at 720p. Games today are expected to run at 4k or at least 2k. Pushing high resolutions is very demanding.

If devs actually tried and had a proper knowledge of the game engine they are using , they could've used different tricks and methods to make the game engine run smoothly while keeping up with high speed cars and properly rendering everything. Just like playground games and turn 10 did with their FORZATECH engine which is just a marvelous piece of technology. For example Horizon 4 and 5 look stunning and can run on low hardware while looking amazing and have a nice frame rate. Back then in 2011 720p with constant 60fps was basically a 4k today so no excuses really. They had to work with 512mb of video ram/system ram since it's shared while today's consoles have 16GB! It's easy to research all these things. We know that better is possible but today's devs just don't have the proper knowledge ,time and many other factors that the companies put on them.....

Reality: Limited to 30 to 40fps.
TDU2 was the best racing game during X360-PS3 era. If this game was released today, it could be absolute blast. Driving through Oahu up and down with a cool soundtrack was a good time.

I feel like they are shooting themselves at the foot releasing this beta, there's a lot of features that they already worked on but are not in this beta, like the handling, in this beta is basically the same as the PC demo, they already fix some stuff in the handling but they chose not to put those on this beta I don't know why, they fix some graphics issues and performance and again they chose not to put those on this beta is like they don't want you to buy their game.
Im gonna be super disappointed if that hotel is our only home. One of my favorite part of the previous test drives was being able to buy multiple homes.
Test Drive Off Road Wide Open for the original xbox was my first test drive game. I remember opening it and my xbox on Christmas and played all night with amazement. It made me an off road enthusiasts. Then playing Test Drive a little later on online with the drag mode and pink slips turned me into a gambler 😂

The only way they can make this game worth it is if Hong Kong island is the first island and they've kept the second island a secret. Map is just way too small for a test drive game.

Thank god it won't be on gamepass, that stuff of chewing and spitting games every two days is really killing creativity in games simply because devs need to make sure you stay in the game for weeks because that's the only way they make money, more people playing through gamepass = more money sent by Microsoft, it just makes sense you pay less for a whole catalogue but the game that has the most players means they bring more subscriptions so everyone is fighting each other..That's really the worst idea ever

Loved the whole vibe, I believe it was miami, the 'drag strip' everyone was on. The online community, all remindes me of these great times.
The 2nd was more of a Ibiza vibe I believe, it wasn't really about racing and getting the best.
It was the roadtrip to become a (multi) millionaire.

The big dream houses with pools etc.
Everyone was going for the veyron or the Hennessey I believe, these were the fastest.

The map location is good it’s the atmosphere that’s seems boring as if they couldn’t add more people on the street and an actual city experience. Where the traffics or billions of people or millions or parked cars. Give off mobile game and I know for a fact the newest iPhones and some androids can run that game. The Xbox one can run that game with ease.

Should be 4K 30 and 1440p 60, I dunno how they've managed to make it so unoptimised even with the delays. The Graphics don't even look that impressive compared to modern standards. Tbf thought he first TDU and TDU2 weren't about graphics so hoping for the best. The car sounds are good, and hopeful for houses and loads of customisation which is a staple for TDU
