Nintendo are you kidding me why didn't you make the Switch resistant to fricking acid literally unplayable I'll by a PlayStation because they're obviously resistant to acid
Out of all the videos I see no problem with jerryrigseverything considering he does durability test and complete teardown so u know what your getting when u purchase a product
True but I think woods logic is that taking a knife to the back of a switch proves nothing except that knives are capable of cutting. An example of a durability test would be taking the switch in and out of the dock 100s of times. Using a knife on it is pointless. Bending the joycon til it breaks is pointless. They have no real-world basis to compare to so it's basically random damage. A good jerryrig video would be carefully taking the switch apart like a technician would and theeennn analyzing the individual parts.
@@jesse1086 the switch will be in the hands of many more kids then adults. kids do not take care of their stuff. they never have and they never will. kids have broken the joycon off already. ive bought some off ebay and had to rig the rail back in using epoxy. and youve obv never watched one of his videos if you dont understand why he does these things. he clearly says that what he does isnt something that will happen to most people. most people are not going to run an engine using antifreeze as oil. but people are interested in seeing what happens when you do. and theres youtube channels dedicated to those kind of experiments.

I mostly agreed with u but not the JerryRig one, he always do the same thing for all devices including phones and etc., He always do the durability test for the first video, and then second one to show what's inside the device, and then put them back. He is still happy with his switch tho... So he is not for views, since that's what his channel does...
He was showing how the hinge was strong enough to withstand kids playing the switch. And inferior means how it was literally the only metal in this console.
Please go and google the definition of inferior before you try to defend such stupid comment. Actually just in case you can't even google I shall give you the result, inferior : lower in rank, status, or quality.
JerryRig is actually a primed technician. His channel is not devoted to mindless destruction but rather to rigorous exploration and experimentation. His switch most likely will be repaired in an up and coming video.
PLAY A GAME ON IT LIKE U DO A PLAYSTATION GAME AND XBOX GAMES HE MIGHT BE A GOOD CHANNEL BUT ITS WASTING MONEY TO JUST BUY IT TO BREAK IT MAKE UR OWN SYSTEM AND TEST THE PLAYSTATION WHILE UR AT IT
Im with you somewhat, but Jerry rig everything is doing a great job of telling us the limits of the switch. It was interesting to see that people are moaning the are joycons are loose, but he bent the fuck out of those things and they did not budge. So I'm happy that even if my joycons wobble a bit they won't break or fall off.
To be fair, jerryrigeverything made the video to make people aware of how durable the system itself is, all the others are like "haha let's break the system for moneys"
14:21 even if it's not "everyday occurrences" like he claimed , being able to withstand that many hits with a hammer before breaking gives people who are watching a good idea of the durability of the console which can be a key factor when deciding rather or not to purchase one. Tho I can understand why you feel the way you do about this videos because in most cases I agree. The switch is marketed as a portable device as well as a home console and if I'm going to be lugging around a $400 piece of equipment I want to know what the durability is like before I go investing my money and end up with a $400 paperweight. It's videos like this that ultimately made me decide to go ahead and purchase a switch since durability was a main concern of mine at first glance.
Thank god. Saw the title and thought "nooo! not you too." I HATE THESE STUPID DURABILITY BULLSHIT VIDEOS! So many people missed out on the switch, and these people decide to buy them just to break them. What?! So glad this was not an actual breaking the switch video, nice click bait though 😜
Allison Mackenzie I still hate them but I wouldn't have been as salty about these vids if they waited like a year or so when they weren't so low on stock and were actually available. I feel so bad for some of my friends who had a hard time obtaining one cause of the low stock and having to get up early thing and then we have these assholes destroying this wonderful console and saying "Wow Nintendo switch sucks cause it broke." And I'm like, "yeah it broke, after HITTING IT WITH A FUCKING HAMMER 20 TIMES AND SAYING I HIT IT HARD!!!!" My god I fucking hate people
Right? Every day durability, like accidentally dropping it off the Empire State Building. Might just be me, but when I buy anything ever, I go into that purchase knowing if I ever drop it off a building, it probably won't work the next day.
BeatEmUps Some people are not familiar with basic physics I guess. That or electronics these days are not made out of the densest thing in the universe and we should be shocked, absolutely shocked, this isn't the case.
The video at like 6:15 is actually a good video. He literally says he tries to break his deliberately so you don't have to do it accidentally and gives links to products in the description. Like at the beginning he did a hardness test on the screen(he had a different hardness that he was going to use if it didn't scratch) and learned that it was plastic and said that phones are usually glass because it can be scratch by your keys in your pockets, but this isn't going in your pocket and kids are playing it so this is a smart choice by Nintendo, but you can't just through it in your book bag so you are going to need a screen protector then he links a screen protector in the description. He did a bend test and stuff in there and gave it a pretty good review. The guy says he usually does phones, but because this is portable he says he is going to do this too. You should watch the whole video honestly, the guy is actually nice don't just judge it by what you see he actually explains how this will help. It is not just a stupid for views thing that a lot of people do.
I feel you with the stupid bastards that made stupid things, BUT, Im with Jerryrigeverything in this one, because he show the people fairly the weak points of the electronics they want to buy BEFORE they waste money.
yeah I understand a few drop tests and some spill tests but woods right about the knife and bending the joy cons like when is that gonna happen very weird knife tests excluding the button one that was a useful test
Cutting and ripping an electronic to pieces isn't a good way to figure out the weak points. Imagine throwing your phone off a skyscraper and calling the phone cheap because it broke.
Watching only less than the half of the video made my stress level break through the roof, then I had to check my Switch for any scratch or thing looking like a scratch and panic. Then I hugged it and said "I'm never going to let anyone do something like this to you"...I think I'm beyond recovery now
You know, I get ragging on the ones where they just drop a new console off a cliff, but JerryRigEverything actually taught me a lot about the materials used in the switch, along with the durability of the pieces. I watched that demo before I bought a switch to make sure there weren't any glaring fault points, and I'm not a huge proponent of that channel. That was just the result I got for looking up durability tests. You asked what it proves. For me? It proved that the screen wasn't glass, but that's ok. Use a little caution around it, but it's a pretty durable plastic. I bought a screen protector just to be safe. It proved that if I need to scratch an itch or something while playing in handheld, I can support the console by holding only one side of it without the hinge snapping off. I don't need to be nearly as concerned about the rear kickstand. It's a weak-show, but it's designed to snap-away. I didn't know that. Now, the other videos? Ehh...I learned that smashing things for likes is still popular.
im 29 but i appreciate how you sensor the F word because of the younger viewers that may be watching. Very considerate of you man. And wat a ring tone! HBK
I can understand why you do it, but I think it's unnecessary. Kids nowadays have complete access to all kinds of adult content on the internet. I don't think anyone in any age bracket is really going to be shocked by a few "F" bombs. But again, if it helps bring in a wider audience, I get it.

Good video. One thing I will say though, with JerryRigEverything's video and the "inferior metal" part, you took it out of context. Right before it he talks about how it wasn't the plastic that broke (as he expected) but rather the metal, calling the metal in the screws inferior compared to the plastic.
the videos with the grips werent about the grips being hard to take off when put on normally, it was about how hard they were to get off when put on when the minuses and plus' werent lined up
this is by far my favourite video of yours. I just love seeing the disappointment in your face when you see these idiots doing this, its exactly how i feel seeing those type of videos
Really i'm a sony fanboy, but he's got a point no one abuse his new console like that even on the go. I thing Switch is a great system and I'm going to pick it up
There’s a small white lock/unlock lever at the bottom. You unlock to slide on, lock to keep it on and then unlock it to slide it off. As smooth as butter if you do it like that mate.
Really refreshing and cool to see someone who gets Nintendo and enjoys their systems as much as you do man. It breaks my heart to see videos of these fools wrecking systems for more likes.
Been a fan of your channel for years, just watched this video again and want to say thank you so much! I hate this era of “take a knife to electronics and then freak out that they are damaged”
I love the choice of “decorum” when describing what you should have about these things. The poor consoles, the poor electronics. Had to work so hard for those back in the day and they were precious when we finally got our hands on the new games and systems. Just sad when people go breaking them for fun, not even for educational purposes.
This has to be the best thing I've seen in a LONG time. I was laughing so hard and agree 100% that it's ridiculous to go to that extent to try "prove" something.
I'm a fairly new subscriber. Came across your channel leading up to Christmas because I was getting a Switch. I love watching your videos, and this one is my new favorite. Your reactions and commentary on these idiots was hilarious.
man this is really heartbreaking. people like me missed out on a chance to get a switch, and people are out buying them and being disrespectful enough to break them for views? people could have been enjoying those broken switches dude.
That first one. He classified it as durable. And praised it bro. I actually liked that video. He was saying the metal was the failure point and was pleasantly suprised, can't vouch for zach but the other guy looks on the inside and reviews the actual specs and parts.
only reason i watched any of these before i bought mine was to see what i needed to do to prevent scratches on my screen, some of these videos were informational, BUT it doesn't help with the fact they're literally RIPPING the damn things apart
I did not understand the knife part, but I do get why he tried to hammer it - it shows what force it needs for the components inside to discount or to snap if force is applied from outside. To be honest, if you have a look at the components inside, I doubt they got broken, I think the screen cable most likely was unplugged. The screen itself is thick plastic, so it won't break just from a hammer. I think this video was funny, but these clips he reviewed were informative to some extent.
Hey I like your channel, but the one video that you rip on for the majority of this video, is actually a deliberate attempt to break the switch, and his assessment is pretty fair, when he broke the joy-cons off he actually says in the video that they're very durable and he was surprised that they lasted that long, it was disappointing to see you stoop as low as cropping that part of the video out. The knife thing was hilarious tho lol.
it's just people actually care of their consoles/properties because it's not something everybody could afford, so they are probably trying to put themselves on the same position imagining it and it bugs them. It's their money they can do whatever with it but it's also hard to watch specially for game collectors
I gotta say I agree 100% with you. Yes I’d like to see how durable items are, but jeez I don’t need to see how many time I can hit it with a hammer, or if I can throw it off a balcony. Common sense says, oh wait! Common sense is that common. This video made my day, good job!
I agree w/ your comments. Good calling out stupid videos! If these tests were run by certified technicians and more real-world, they would be more useful
lol the blogger up in the background. i can even see what you were doing before when you were looking for a video idea lolol "youtube trends" lol but aye, still a great video haha
I don't get why you're upset, the jerryrig everything is just a nice little nerdy thing for whoever's curious about what every part is made out of and all that cutenonsense, watch all his other videos and all that >.< he tears them down too afterwards!
You want to know what using a knife on system or console will prove? What they are trying to show is if a knife won't scratch it then other normal items like keys or coins most likely won't be able to. Just don't be a Nintendo fanboy and defend everything about the switch when somethings aren't good
Fuckin you seriously have gotten my attention LOL. I've watched a few of your vids and like them, but damn.... this one tops them for me honestly. So honest and me and you are on same page on this shit.
I was watching these videos thinking when I get my switch I have to be very careful but thanks to this video I found out yes I do have to be careful but I dont have to be this worried about it breaking so easily.
JerryRigsEverything does do valid tests, unless you wanted it done in a very controlled environment with actuators. The box cutter simulated keys and bending it simulates dropping and possibly kiss doing something weird. Finding weak points is a science and it is not always pretty. Also everyone does not have a $100,000 to necessarily do a rigorous battery of tests.
The joycon straps get stuck if you slide them on the wrong way round, but as hard as they are to get off again it is possible and fairly easy. Is a bit weird how nintendo designed it to be able to go on wrong in the first place. GREAT VIDEO BTW!
I find the ones of dropping them at normal heights useful cause that’s something that could happen, but attacking the switch with a knife and hammer is not something I would do in my normal day to day activities
I’m 57 years old and was in college when the Nintendo NES came out ! You are a great person with a good sole. Very smart person in a sea 🌊 of Idiots . Love you ...
The crowb cab video mentioned how easy it was for ppl to put the strap on backwards which is really difficult to take off...However putting them on normally is also a bit tough to remove easily.

There’s a small white lock/unlock lever at the bottom. You unlock to slide on, lock to keep it on and then unlock it to slide it off. As smooth as butter if you do it like that mate.
One of the guys in this is a repair guy and I find his videos to be kind of interesting. He knows about how these should stand up against testing.
Really refreshing and cool to see someone who gets Nintendo and enjoys their systems as much as you do man. It breaks my heart to see videos of these fools wrecking systems for more likes.
9:07 he's just proving how strong the switch is
Everyday life smashing your switch with a hammer ten times till it breaks
Actually, Jerry Rig Everything is a great Channel to watch. Sorry you hated watching that video.
Why?
Been a fan of your channel for years, just watched this video again and want to say thank you so much! I hate this era of “take a knife to electronics and then freak out that they are damaged”
This was the funniest video I've seen in a while
Henry Bushell I don't really understand how this was funny but ok
I love the choice of “decorum” when describing what you should have about these things. The poor consoles, the poor electronics. Had to work so hard for those back in the day and they were precious when we finally got our hands on the new games and systems. Just sad when people go breaking them for fun, not even for educational purposes.
This makes my heart hurt 😭 poor Switches 😭😭
You leave JerryRigEverything alone.
This has to be the best thing I've seen in a LONG time. I was laughing so hard and agree 100% that it's ridiculous to go to that extent to try "prove" something.
"now i'm down a rabbit hole that i just wanna keep going" yeah you just won me with that statement!.
Wood mate, best channel going for me atm loving the switch coverage
+Brett Wayland thank you Brett :)
I'm a fairly new subscriber. Came across your channel leading up to Christmas because I was getting a Switch. I love watching your videos, and this one is my new favorite. Your reactions and commentary on these idiots was hilarious.
I 100% knew you where not going to do it. however like an idiot I broke mine during an unboxing
sunsbookishgamesx that's why you can't have nice things, so destructive.
sunsbookishgamesx weren't you the person that put the strap on wrong? that is so easy to fix just look it up.
ohh how innocent he was, little did he know he f**ked his finger over a shell
man this is really heartbreaking. people like me missed out on a chance to get a switch, and people are out
buying them and being disrespectful enough to break them for views? people could have been enjoying those
broken switches dude.
its a TEST get a job
I think when jerryrigseverything said it was inferior metal, he meant inferior to the screws
That first one. He classified it as durable. And praised it bro. I actually liked that video. He was saying the metal was the failure point and was pleasantly suprised, can't vouch for zach but the other guy looks on the inside and reviews the actual specs and parts.
I've only watched a few of your videos, but I actually just love your channel now.
only reason i watched any of these before i bought mine was to see what i needed to do to prevent scratches on my screen, some of these videos were informational, BUT it doesn't help with the fact they're literally RIPPING the damn things apart
The only bad thing about the Switch is that it breaks my funds every time I go to the store.
Beatemups 2017:CUT AVAY FROM UR FINGER
Beatemups 2019:I drild in to my finger
I wish I had a switch
The Dead Creator lucky
Shut the fuck up the dead creator, Noone gives a sht. Voogaroo I once you bro, ur switch will come soon
@Soopboop nothing about your comment was funny.
I’ve seen that durability test video and I thought it was too disturbing to watch lmfao I love your videos bro keep it up ! From NY! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Give Jerryrigeverything a break. It's educational.
What did you learn?
@@randomforlife861 that knives destroy things when used in a slashing fashion
@@jesse1086 made me day
2017 Wood curses a lot more than 2019 Wood and it's very awkward
If you actually paid attention to the JerryRigEverything video there was a lot of tests that are practical. He’s not dropping it 100 feet like Gizmo
I gotta say I agree 100% with you. Yes I’d like to see how durable items are, but jeez I don’t need to see how many time I can hit it with a hammer, or if I can throw it off a balcony. Common sense says, oh wait! Common sense is that common. This video made my day, good job!
i can't even afford a nintendo ds and this guy is breaking a switch on purpose :(
BenTheWizzard and what you want him to fukin gift it to you? grow up and make your own money.
it brings in money in case u dont know~~
destroy one to be earn enough money to buy 2 more~
BenTheWizzard get a job
I agree w/ your comments. Good calling out stupid videos! If these tests were run by certified technicians and more real-world, they would be more useful
Damn this might be your best video yet..
Love the use of Shawn Michaels’ entrance theme as the ringtone
JerryRigsEverything’s vid is fine with me. Everyone else?🚫
lol the blogger up in the background. i can even see what you were doing before when you were looking for a video idea lolol "youtube trends" lol but aye, still a great video haha
I don't get why you're upset, the jerryrig everything is just a nice little nerdy thing for whoever's curious about what every part is made out of and all that cutenonsense, watch all his other videos and all that >.< he tears them down too afterwards!
Couldn't stop laughing! The fact that your voice was so calm for the video was a main factor.
I am sitting here stroking my Rock Band Keyboard now.
i gotta say wood... i fuckin love these vids where u take the piss out of other tubers ! Good laughs bro :D
respect HBK ringtone bro :)
I quite enjoy this sweary sarcastic Wood 😂
The joycon straps get stuck if you slide them on the wrong way round, but as hard as they are to get off again it is possible and fairly easy. Is a bit weird how nintendo designed it to be able to go on wrong in the first place. GREAT VIDEO BTW!
Let’s go play my switch on top of a skyscraper
I find the ones of dropping them at normal heights useful cause that’s something that could happen, but attacking the switch with a knife and hammer is not something I would do in my normal day to day activities
14:56 you know this drove him insane cause of the eye twitch
1000 degree knife x Nintendo Switch. Woah okay!
Kamikaze Jay I ship
Apparently Zach thinks there are just roving gangs of hammers out there just hitting things.
I’m 57 years old and was in college when the Nintendo NES came out ! You are a great person with a good sole. Very smart person in a sea 🌊 of Idiots . Love you ...
wow, i just stumbled upon this channel not long ago and its gold! you are a savage. hahah, love the content!
The crowb cab video mentioned how easy it was for ppl to put the strap on backwards which is really difficult to take off...However putting them on normally is also a bit tough to remove easily.
I had NO trouble with the joycon things, I instantly found the lock.
Damn i just crashed my new BMW head on with an old volvo. The backseat looks ok though.
Dear lord I'm physically hurting while I'm watching this compilation of people breaking the switch
Thanks for the laughs and the awesome videos Wood 🙏😂😂
