I didn't much care for it, but I can see that it's a good game at the same time.
RGT 85 it is great, the one it plays and the overall look of it is super unique. Plus free DLC with New of everything basically will surely add to that originality
RGT 85 its a fun game but was never worth 60$, I play the demo a lot when my brother and i want to play it xD we just fight each other 1v1.

Arms is for sure 100% worth it for me. I'm mostly a single player gamer with some online gameplay thrown in, and I love playing this game just by myself. I really enjoy how deep the mechanics are and I love the characters and different arms you can get. There are more than enough modes to keep me satisfied. I've had the game since launch and can't put it down, and I'm not primarily a big fighting game fan. But there's something about this one. I definitely say it's worth it.

Canada and USA are not the only one to drive like this, pretty much anywhere in Europe except for UK and Ireland we drive on the right ( litterally ) side of the road. Canada have km and drive on the irght side of the road, they are perfect !

Don't feel too bad, most people play it with the motion controls since that's sort of the point. However, that being said, as people get deeper into the game, more and more will go for the pro controller. I'd be surprised to see top players using the motion controls.
It's actually the other way around. Motion controls have the advantage so top players will probably be using them. That's not to say you can't do wonderfully with Pro controller just that there's a clear advantage.
I think it would be worth it at 40 bucks. 60 is just a little too much.

the free dlc for the life of this game is gonna be huge. I love in this day and age with paid dlc, season passes, and micro transactions when a game is heavily supported going forward and has free dlc. The price of admission should be enough for most games. Granted this is a first party new IP, but I am willing to support publishers in the 3rd party realm as well that does the same thing no matter if i like the game or not because as a consumer I want to promote companies going back to the way it used to be. Ship a complete game first off and none of this day 1 or fix the game after selling it. I always feel ripped off when the game is not done or broken for a long time until its fixed or the definitive edition comes out. Most importantly I am willing to buy day 1 at full price for a game that is fully supported going forward and offers all future content free.
Just my 2 cents.

Yeah honestly I was not interest in this game and when it came out I wanted to try it and I am happy I did. I love this game and it's really fun to play online and a few matches here and there to unlock new arms. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Fun Story: I was on the fence about the Switch. Your videos convinced me, so I'm patiently waiting on mine to get here! I got a bundle through Gamestop, and this one came in it. So, here I am, sitting at work jealous of the fact that I STILL don't have my switch. It's fine. I know it's early! Your accent is also pretty easy to listen to. lol
I actually went to Toronto last year and it was so nice, I also stopped by an EB games, and I picked up two amiibos lol

Also dude - one tip with Min Min - charge your weapon by HOLDING down for 2 seconds eather dodge or hold down for 2 seconds jump. Min mins right arm will turn into a dragon untill you get thrown or punched out balance. But untill that her right arm stays perma charged.
Every character has their abilities , minmin can punch arms away in air by dodging an arm in the air.
Please DO read the HELP and training sections - they are FULL tons of tips of each character.
You win with each character if you exploit their abilities (like Kid cobra gets a speed boost in moving once he charges his arms ... he dodges like crazy but you must be charged - dodge win)

haha, that moment where you watch the "worth buying?" video when you've already purchased the game....yet haven't played it yet.
As a guy who never got a Pro Controller, I can say that if you don't like the motion controls in ARMS, you can put the Joy-Cons in the grip and use it like a normal controller
As for replayability in single player mode, I think there is. If you're a completionist, you'll want to get a yellow crown on all numbers for all characters. That's what I'm currently working toward. So far each character has their crown at levels 1, 2, 3. Now I'm working my way through 4, and continuing until every character has them all.
I hope you realize that if you beat a higher difficulty the previous crowns fill up. As in if you don't have any and then you beat level 4 then 1-4 will all fill up.
Well crap, I wasted my time then. Thanks for telling me, now I'll focus on just level 7. This actually kinda sucks, I literally wasted my time going through each level...
Lmao sorry. I had to work my way up anyways because level 7 is too hard. Still on level 4 right now.
Honestly it's much more fulfilling doing every single stage Echocookie, the only problem with that is that it burns you out after maybe 2 or 3 characters with one stage of difficulty.
EPS5000 as a completionist I also loved the little character artwork at the end of Grand Prix so I took a screenshot of each one. I personally loved Kid Cobra's selfie ending and Master Mummy's family interview
The only problem with this video is that you didn't mention that this game is getting *FREE* Characters/Stages/Arms(Weapons) Updates throughout the year.
You could make a video in the future when all of the updates are finished and give your final thoughts of ARMS.
Other then that this was a great and honest review of your experience with the game. Keep up the good work!
the story in most fighting games is likely going to be lackluster.
I'm glad I picked it up too, but I can't do motion controls. That's only fun if you're with friends, not trying to really win lmao
One thing in replayability you forget to mention - is that you need to watch your replays. Try to combine your thoughts with your moves and what charged action you like. Since your arms have these charged actions by default, you might wish like : If there was a way i could play with my prefered character of choice, with a nice weapon of choice ... but the charged action should be wind while you have now shock on it ... there might be an arm as exchange that you want to unlock for your character so you can customise your whole playstyle the way you want. Getting new arms and setting them to use them are a huge thing you want to figure out per character.
Also remember that winning a grandprix you need 3 weapons to use to beat all components - luckily you can overcome this a bit by quiting the grandprix and change your arms and continue where you left of. Too bad they dont give the option to set your arms at each round (like in online play) and limit it to 3 arms of set choice. Your strategy may consist of a heavy arm, a fast shooter and a curving arm. Or a shooter with a vertical hitbox (to force your opponent to sidestep) and one with a horizontal hitbox (to force your opponent to jump). Go nuts on configuring your style ;)

Bought this one personally day 1 at my local Eb games outside of Wollongong Australia, personally I love the game, love the characters, love the gameplay, love that annoyingly catchy tune you hear loading up the game. I do agree to some extent that it is a hit and miss game too but in saying that.. if you're open to new experiences or if you think you've played every kind of game out there, arms is one of those games that will surprise you and you will have fun with it, I can't wait until Nintendo finally releases that app so we chat to our friends and play games (but wait isn't that why we have phones for?) either way I think the game is solid and I can't wait to see what other surprises Nintendo has for us. Just bought the game after playing the free demo and I really like it. My daughters LOVE it. Haven't used motion controls yet just the Joycon horizontal or in portable mode.

Wood, you are going to be envious of this maybe. I pre-ordered it and went in as soon as they opened but they didn't get the delivery yet. The game was delayed by 5 days! When they called me to say the game arrived, she said that I looked disappointed when I went in so they gave me €10 off.

I was in the same boat, not sure if I was going to love a glorified Wii Boxing, so I didn't know if I should pick it up. But I did and I love it. Everything you said about it having depth and being way better than Wii boxing ever could be was accurate. I'm also interested in unlocking all the different arms or fists for each character so that is what adds more replay ability for me.

Well Arms does have some progression. Playing those modes gets you coins to buy new arms which can really give you a big edge against others online.
arms is actually has depth, the more you play it, the more you realize. This game is very technical, I would say it can stand on it's own against other fighting games.
There are some certain aspects that probably you have missed. Each character has it's own playstyle, with each playstyle having a weakness or a strength on each aspects of combat such as aerial, ground. some are strong in counters, such are better defensively, others offensively, other than that, each arm has it's own stats(and I hope they have an update for this where you can see or atleast more elaborate) you can actually control each arm a bit and their mobility and effects depends. when you hold your punches, you can steer the arms a bit and each has it's own steering stat, other than that, other arms have angles(such as the slammander, slappamander) and speed and strength and all that. The game requires, great timing and reflexes.
same as SFV i think nintendo made this game for the long game, they made this game thinking of E-Sports. I would say this is one of those "easy to pick up but very hard to master" game.
It's illegal to do hidden ads. You have to tell the viewer that you are sponsered by a company (EB games in this case)
For some reason, I really like the video's that have you interacting with Canada and Canada things while in Canada.
This review actually helped me out. I've been on the fence since the Testpunch and I think I'll wait on this until I can get some sort of deal. A week or two of singleplayer fun isn't enough for me, and I don't have any friends that are big into fighting games, so the full price is hard for me to justify. I'm just now getting a Switch (I wanted the Wii U version of BotW because I'll be damned if I buy a Nintendo console and never play Zelda on it), and it comes bundled with Arms, Has Been Heroes (I believe a download code, not a physical copy), Joycon chargers, and a couple other things. At the moment, all I really want a Switch for is Splatoon 2 and eventually Mario, but I think Arms will be fun for some casual online play and taking around to show people.
Arms now is especially worth it. Controller mapping, 4 new free characters, and badges now make it a much more interesting game now.

It’s a good game and it had decent potential but the fact that it didn’t have much of a big player base/community is what killed it off
Now arms is in smash. I never really played except at friends houses, but the characters are interesting and the music is great. Amazing music, especially ribbon girls theme
SAME HERE IT WAS MORE FUN THAN I EXPECTED BUT IVE ONLY PLAYED IT ONE DAY ON A FRIENDS SYSTEM.
This is going to be huge for online players. I think this will be right up there with Splatoon, Super Smash & Mario Kart. Playing single player it'll be fun to play a few rounds here and there inbetween other games but mostly this will be online & multiplayer.
I would say for sure that the game is worth buying if you plan on playing online or have some friends to play with ESPECIALLY if you have some friends or family to play with CAUSE IT'S SO MUCH FUN SERIOUSLY!!!! Especially with motion controls it's really quite awesome. When it comes to rank though I play with the pro controller.

A year later and im so glad i didnt buy this game, now that being said it is a fun game, but if i have the itch to play it i just play the demo lol the characters me and my brother use mainly are in the demo so we just do 1v1 fights in that xD

Off topic sure, but Tilt control hinders Mario Kart, how? You can still use the analog stick at the same time making really tight and precise turns

If you like intuitive fighting games it's totally worth it. Both motion controls and regular controls work great. I'm waiting for a price drop because fighting games aren't my cup of tea but it is a great party game as well. Also, that cashier, lol!

A better solo content would've made the game way better and worth it, but it's definitely worth it since Nintendo will add all futur content for free. It'll be like Splatoon, the second one will be better, learning mistakes from the first one. It's a good new IP imo. Btw, do you live in Montreal or near? It really looked like Montreal inside the shopping mall.
