Ken Adam's best work was in You Only Live Twice. The volcano lair, Blofeld's apartment, Osato's office, Tanaka's office, and that meeting room with the American politicians and army officials were all amazing sets.

I really love the creativity they had with making the villains lairs. Personally, I would love to have a space station as my house.

Francisco Scaramanga's island retreat has to be #1, with Safin's chemical island base #2 and Auricstad (Goldfinger's Kentucky home) & Piz Gloria (Blofeld's Alps lair) tied for #3.
Pretty good list. Scaramanga’s place is my favorite too though Stromberg’s underwater city in The Spy who loved me looked pretty comfy. Just watch the elevators. 🦈. Hugo Drax’s Californian French Chateau should get a honourable mention too in Moonraker.

Great work with editing and time to putting the lairs together! Dr Nos lair the Volcano and the one in OHMSS are my favorites but all of them do have there own uniqueness to them

I like Dr.No's Lair, Scaramanga Island and Blofeld's Piz Gloria. All are comfy and beautifull in their own way.

I’d make a great Bond Villian. I love these layouts they come up with. Number one especially knows how to hold a board meeting.
Scaramanga's solar power factory and laser cannon were really cool; too bad we didn't get a YOLT-style battle set there!

I thought for some time that a casino would be a great place to incorporate some of Ken Adams’ designs into a theme hotel. Of course it would have entertainment, such as a stunt show that would have some scenes borrowed from various Bond movies. It shouldn’t have to be said, but it could only be called “Casino Royale”

After that wonderful review, I think I'd rank Scaramanga as the most believable Bond villain.....and I've always liked that island fortress.

At 17:39....It's Maiden's Tower. Right outside Instanbul. Same building appeared in From Russia With Love: the only other series' entry with a female main villain.
All That money going into Sets is why The Villain must show off his HQ and plan To Bond ... It made sense lol

What about the small island housing a large, active volcano with Dr. Evil's face carved into the side of it, the pupils acting as windows with the interior containing a squad of evil-doers' meeting room.

There are several deleted scenes (or moments from larger scenes still in the film, anyway) where he gets to show off his skills.

I think some of the gangsters' American English in Goldfinger is exaggerated. Some of the Japanese in You Only Live Twice is weird, too.

I always loved the Stealth Boat from TND when I was younger. Closely followed by Stromberg's tanker... Perhaps I just loved the mass shoot outs as a kid ?
As a ship and submarine buff, I always liked the Liparus set.
The Ice Palace was one of the best things about DAD ;) admittedly that's not saying much!

You left out the Cuban radio dish from GoldenEye. Sure, 006 had a lair on the missile train, but I think the dish counts even more.

I'm surprised you picked the missile train and not the satellite control from Goldeneye. I mean I guess he 'lived' in the train, but.. The control center seemed more 'main lair' like to me

At 1:00, S.P.E.C.T.R.E. Yacht is misspelled on screen. It says S.P.E.C.T.R.E. Yatch, instead of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. Yacht.
At 3:50, Piz Gloria is misspelled as Piz Gloira.
Try and imagine the contractors for these jobs
