- A freelancing former U.S. Intelligence Agent tries to track down a mysterious package that is wanted by the Irish and the Russians.
Director: John Frankenheimer
Writers: J.D. Zeik (story), J.D. Zeik (screenplay) | 1 more credit »
Stars: Robert De Niro, Jean Reno, Natascha McElhone
Natascha Mcelhone, now that's beautiful women also held her own in such a strong cast. Robert Di Nero & Jean Reno were equally brilliant. The car chase in ronin is on power with bullitt car chase. Ronin one of the greatest movies ever. 👏
Three Bond villains were in this. Michael Lonsdale, Sean Bean and Jonathan Pryce
This film took me to a holiday in Arles. Great place.
Fabulous film and plot great acting and action scenes. There's a tenseness under lining it the whole time. This film should be a measure for others. It beats all American car chases. . deniro is ace in this film and Reno . Both on top form. Hugely entertaining film
One of the best movie..
"Bit of raspberry jam!"
9:13 Now that is a strange cup of coffee! It kind of jumped right up instead of just tipping over. Maybe it was scared by DeNiros presence... or there was some mechanism below that flipped it up. Watch in 1/4 speed. ;-)
Such a great movie that too many do not know of even now. An action movie with a real plot. Modern directors and producers could learn from this.
Great movie... million times watchable

Oh.. Natascha... my dream
Masterpiece. Back when De Niro was still a reputable actor, both him and the amazing Jean Reno were still in their prime.
Fantastic chases, stunts, great story, soundtrack and characters, with the classic 90s aura around it.
You wouldn't know a masterpiece if it bit you in the ass.
@@gopherstate777 Thank you for the valuable imput.
What makes you think he's not reputable anymore?
De Niro is still one of the most respected actors in the world. He's been in some great movies the last few years (The Irishman, Joker, Killers of the Flower Moon).
the best crime thriller ever filmed
My favorite ones are how the cars move during the chase behind the scenes.
Yes this is a hardcore gangsta spy flick. Denero was on some G's up clowns down type style. But Denero is always a G in his roles. He made this movie for me. Great car chase scenes crash n burn style with this director. Fantastic movie! I strongly suggest you make purchase and watch this film uninterrupted. Best film of all time!
Retro Film Worx I guess french directors like Luc Besson and Oliver Megaton learned from the director of Ronin.
"So what is the color of the boat house at Hierford?"
This film is like the "GTA IV of cinema". The serious tone, greyish atmosphere, the physics of the cars and accidents is realistic. I love this film. I must confess, when I was a kid in Clichy (92), near Paris, I picked this film at the video store, loved it so much I never went back. (Karma punished me, the dvd ceased to properly work a few weeks later)
My favorite film of all time. Epic cast, scenery, realism and a bit of mystery.
Ohhh God here we go again with that dumb word “epic”. The most overused word in the English dictionary next to “amazing”
@@animaljustice7774 I might agree on occassion, but here the context probably deems it appropriate. Ok (with you) Boomer? Whatevs, yah, LOL 😜
@@tredinnicks i’m not a boomer genius. And for your own good, stop using the word “epic”. Epic and amazing are the two most overused words in English dictionary being used by every Tom Dick and Harry out there. How about “monumental”? “Spectacular”? “Stellar”? Or even “primo”?
Expand your vocabulary
@@animaljustice7774 Stellar fits the bill here I think, noted. Certainly you seem epically triggered certain words, I think we can both agree to that!
@@tredinnicks Good Lord. Epically?
Can nowadays formula 1 drivers make a movie like those who done this ?
God I miss the 90s my childhood.
Wait, Frankenheimer did Grand Prix!? Another totally underated moview.
It has an old Hollywood feel to it. And S Bean didn't die so that's kinda cool
Best movie ever!
thank god they didnt sacrifice another e34
The one they actually rolled over on the highway wasn't an m5. It had the m-system turbines on it, but if you look close it's a regular 525i or 520. I forgot. I think it's safe to say no e38's were harmed during the making of this movie.
This film brings senses of 90-th-my childhood. I grew in Russia, but all this cities and people looks very nostalgic to me because of many films watched in that days...and lessons of English and west culture
The chase scene is up there with the best five of all time. Reminds me of Hitchcock's simplicity that takes a master to achieve. Could not take my eye off the screen in case I missed something. But I did miss the case content or this is like Vincent Vegas case ? Loved it.
Can somebody please explain to me how they made that headshot of Gregor near the end of the movie? That just looks unbelievably real. I been wondering this for years. Doesn’t look like CGI, purely practical. Please help me out here lol
What was n the feckin case?
It's never shown. But it's implied it might be a suitcase nuclear weapon from the former USSR.
@@Mario_N64 Some have postulated this case contains the case from Pulp Fiction.
@@kamuelalee It's more likely it's some nuclear device or a biological weapon.
@@Mario_N64 I say it glows with a golden light.
It's a McGuffin
Incredible film overall. But when Deirdre throws her leg over Sam, I'm gone.
But I don't know yet what was in the valise!! kkkk
"I don´t remember"
Fantastic video, thank you for your work 😍
best driving scene in a movie is in to live and die La by william freidkin
Grt movie pity, De Niro has become such a political left wing muppet in recent times...
Globalist muppet, shame he is the goat
Viva Citroen XM!
Agreed. Surprised it didn't break down though!
Rip John
sean bean acts like a meth head the whole film
Fun Fact: the Mercedes towing the 406 at 14:05 is one of the Mercedes 500E used in the movie Taxi, which was released a few months before Ronin. it still has the same configuration as in the movie Taxi, colors & rims.
Wish my Blu-ray of this great film had bonus features. The only thing it has is the trailer. Are you kidding..
I came here for Jean Reno
Those cheekbones...
Bobby Deniro has great cheekbones.
Ronin - DeNiro's last great movie. He sold out after this.
Explain
God I miss these sorts of making of featurettes.
Great movie but Copland was still better
Robert de Niro has Lindsay Lohan`s uncle
Now
WTF was in the damn Case?
I don’t remember.
