The chase scene is up there with the best five of all time. Reminds me of Hitchcock's simplicity that takes a master to achieve. Could not take my eye off the screen in case I missed something. But I did miss the case content or this is like Vincent Vegas case ? Loved it.

The biggest take-away I had after watching this movie was the performance of Tom Cruise, especially with his firearm handling. It was so good, so perfect I didn't think he was acting. I was convinced he WAS an assassin. His movements were so precise & so efficient, his gun handling so correct- it really sold me on his character being someone I should REALLY be scared of: IMPRESSIVE!

Fun Fact: Jason Statham did his little cameo in the beginning of the movie for free. He's such a big fan of M. Mann that he was super happy to appear even for this small scene and didn't ask to get paid.

I remember my dad telling me to watch this movie about a taxi driver who gives an assassin a ride throughout LA. As soon as the scene came up where Max called Vincent back over to give him a ride, I thought, “Oh no, Max almost got away.” Such a great movie.

Its great because its not in your face that this is a punk movie or character film just let the story roll. The dialouge was classic as well very Taritino in some of the scenes how the dialouge interacts. I also love how the product placement was just a generic brand. The only punk rock scenes are at the party and the Circle Jerks lounge act. Also its got a gritty 70s look not polished as well like the street movies of a different time it shows the real Los Angeles not what they usually show on screen.

It was such an excellent movie with such a terrible ending. Watching a trained hitman, who could win the firefight in his sleep, lose to a random guy, who has never even shot a gun before and is closing his eyes, will never not be stupid. It's like saying that I beat Jordan in a game of 1v1 because he was feeling weird and is so used to aiming at the hoop that he didn't notice my hand blocking the path, and I score the winning shot because of luck. What led up to the firefight was also nonsensical, but that put it over the top. There are many reasons that it makes no sense. So, watching a video about how Mann is so thoughtful about everything completely contradicts the end of the movie. It's as if that orchestra ended their song by someone farting into the mic.

Jamie Fox repeating Vincents words as Vincent for the very first time is almost exactly halfway in the movie. And when he does you are very much still in the scene with him, where he is in the moment. But it also made you look forward and know that there was going to be an actual collision with the Vincent character, and not simply getting steamrolled by Vincent. Its actually quite rare to have such a clear concise "here we go" kind of moment in a thriller.
