Yes thats understandeable. Maybe that's one reason they moved from The slide lock as its really inconvenient for everybody not right handled.. I would prefer if Victorinox just gave us more options to choose from though.

I bought my skipper (slide lock) shortly before the change and it has the partially serrated blade. The older screwdriver/cap lifter is not listed as a pry bar like the later version.
As much as the liner lock is sturdier I’m not of fan of it being lefty and I do find the slide lock more convenient

When the 111mm models were upgraded with the liner locks they also upgraded the rivet/ pivots (increased there diameter)
