- Hi guys! This is the last of my three new animal setups. This is my pacman frog, Theon. He's a pretty cool frog. These tanks aren't bioactive, but this is (most likely) coming in the future.
!!!! I completely forgot to mention this in the video, but thanks so much to WarriorExotics again for an awesome care guide he sent me on these guys on instagram. Care guides are not easy to find, so that was a big help.

I heard it was best to put the heat pad on the side cause they go under the substrate to cool off
Yea, this heat pad keeps half the tank at about 80, the other half at room temp. I have a zoo med that I'll be putting on the side when this one goes out.
I've just found that doing it this way, he's eating well and is very active. 😊

I absolutely love your enclosure but the heat pad should be put on the side rather than the bottom of the enclosure because it can burn the Pac-Man bois feet.

Yeah...EXCELLENT setup except for the location of the heat mat/pad. I would put it on the side of the enclosure not the bottom.

Hay cool tip for eco earth if you use warm water it will expand faster and absorb better😁👍🐸

Your pacman is identical to ours little guy.
So just wanted to let you know that if he burrows all the way down to the bottom he can burn his self on the heat pad. It would be better to pit it on the side. Love the video tho!!!!

Much better landing into 10 gallon as apposed to 5.5, where he smacked up against the glass upon being removed from container. Of coarse I know wasn't intentional, but maybe why he stayed in one spot so long afterwards and then had the eye dilation problem. Just my opinion. Great Video.
You don’t want the pad on the bottom. They borrow down to cool off so
It is best to put it on the side of the tank.
Yea, someone else pointed that out as well. I was just using this one because it is going out, and it keeps it to about 80 on half the tank. Haha. I thought it'd be ok if only half was kept to 80.
But I already have a zoo med one that I was planning to put on the side when this one goes out. So I can go ahead and put that one on
You should also keep the light not directly on them as they are sensitive to light

I am considering a pacman frog. I love how they look but I want something a little more active. Either way i think they are super cool!

I have some questions regarding how I should decorate my enclosure. I wanted to do a themed tank and decorate it with some of my crystals from my collection (don't worry I sanitize them often and they aren't sharp) and I wanted some more colorful enrichment (pastel log hides and water bowl), would that harm the frog in away way or am I just overreacting.
Pastel like you’re buying them that way or painting them? Buying would be fine!
If you’re painting them, make sure the paint is non toxic and that you let it dry 100%. I also recommend using shellac or any nontoxic sealer to waterproof it. 😊

Be careful putting the heat pad on the bottom of the tank; when they burrow they can burn themselves

So the Pacman frog just like to be in sometimes. Well my Pacman frog isn't growing.
he's healthy but he's the same size when I got him he does shed his skin.

That’s how mine was when I first got him I was worried because u could see his hip bones but I’ve had him for a month now and he’s as chubby and cute as can be ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Are springtails harmful to frogs? I’m worried about releasing them into the substrate. And how do you clean it and change the substrate with them in?

I have a Pacman frog and I don't know how old it is and I don't know if it is a boy or girl we got it at PetSmart and they didn't say how old it was and if it was a boy or girl
I have a very important Question i have my pacman frog in a 10 Gallon tank everything is well for him/her but ive noticed one time on my other Tank theses white small bugs are on the top of the Cage they just move around they're small and its like 50 or more i took it outside and cleaned it now they are back what are theses bugs and how can i get them to be gone for good
I'm guessing you haven't put any springtails in there, but do you have them in other tanks? (They can show up in other tanks if close by.)
Are you using any kind of wood based substrate (cypress, reptibark, anything like that) or did you put any kind of driftwood in the tank from outside that wasn't sanitized? If so they could be wood mites. Wood mite eggs can live in the wood/substrate, and they eventually just hatch.
IF they're wood mites, they're harmless, but I like to try to get rid of them, because I would think that having bugs crawling on the animal would be stressful 😅.
Sometimes adding springtails can help get rid of them, as the springtails will over take the resources. Otherwise, changing substrate and making sure to clean everything (including gently rinsing off your frog).
If this is a reoccurring problem, you can always sanitize the substrate first by baking it in the oven or microwaving it until it's hot. These two methods should kill off any eggs. Just let it cool off, of course, before use. 😊
@@ellesreptiles Its just in that one area i have cleaned the tank out and all i used EcoEarth Coco Dirt and cleaned everything but springtails haven't put any in ill definitely will buy some and see how it goes its just annoying to see bugs that i don't want 🤣 Ill clean it again and buy springtails and see how it goes. when they sit in there water bowl it means that there soil isn't damp enough!!!!
The humidity stays at 100%, it keeps the humidity meter maxed. The soil is kept at a point where, if you squeeze it, a couple drops of water will come out. Not a waterfall, but the soil is definitely where it needs to be. Some pac man's just like their waterbowl 😊
