    great video, although i hate flying at night (screws up my landings-flare too high), you make it seem fun. well, with melanie on board, it would be. you need to have her tag along more. maybe you can let her can give her the control some, does she have her ME? does TBM require a type rating? That seems like a fun plane to fly, I'm buying one after I hit the lottery.

    Talking is one thing - but I kept seeing the auto-focus emitter bounce red light off the glare shield on short final. I was just waiting for a flash to go off. Yikes.

    • @StuartGrantChannel
      @StuartGrantChannel 8 лет назад +4

      Saw that too! Wow flash from the backseat reflecting off windscreen on short final - would probably have as bad or worse than a laser flash.

    • @Photoshotgun
      @Photoshotgun 6 лет назад +1

      Flash won’t go off in video mode on the GoPro, only if taking a picture. The red light is a focus marker simply just to keep the video in focus, just as you’ve said. Nothing to worry about buddy ;)

      +Eric Carmona I usually have the XM radio going when I am not filming on top of people talking. I can listen to 4 things at once and still understand everything. ATIS, talking, comm 1, and music.

      that is amazing you have great organizational skills to separate what you need to here and what you can block out. I am hard at work with flight school and you are my biggest inspiration when I put 58hrs in at work I question do I relax on the couch or call my instructor to go spend some time at the field and all it takes is a video or a comment from you and I'm up remembering how much I love aviation and you have a huge part of it. I'm so grateful I've came across your Steveo or I may still be just on the flight sim and never would have taken the shot a going for my dream.

      I don't fly but I know enough about the airport lighting to know that certain runways are illuminated depending on whether ATC has designated one end approach, the other end departure, because of wind. Obviously, the wind conditions were light enough for Steve-O to get his choice of departure runways. I assume that meant the tower had to change the illumination to the runway Steve-O used to depart from. Not difficult to understand at all.

    Steve, been watching your videos for a while now (1st comment). I earned my private license and instrument rating when I was 17. Since then, 12 years have passed and there hasn't been any flying in the last 10. I have a good established career outside aviation, a wife, child, and a house. Your videos have stirred my the urge to start flying again. Keep up the good work.

    I heard you mention possibly getting your CFII. There would be no other CFII that I would be more comfortable being taught by.. I watched all your videos to date and eagerly await new ones.
    I am from The Bahamas and I'm currently a senior university student in South Dakota. I plan to graduate in Fall 2017 then go onto flight school. If you get your CFII by then please keep up abreast!
    Happy Landings,
    Torri B.

    Fun! Glad the weather stayed clear. Dinner in Key West was a smart Plan B. Even though there are lots of bright city lights, do you find that the glass panel and tablet screens mess up your night vision? Might be a factor without good runway lighting. Like your caution about flying over the black water. VFR pilots turning out over dark areas after take off can easily get disoriented. Two vacationing pilots in a rented 172 lost it departing Key West at night a few years back (Feb 2012).

    What did Melanie win? Steve I don't know anything about the TBM but this flight and others I think you've had the fueler add fuel after the flight. Did you know what fuel you needed for your next flight? Is is fuel critical depending on PAX or cargo? I teach the Mustang and many times one can't fill the tanks and have more than two PAX.
