    I've been an observer at the Apollo 11 RC field San Fernando Valley and have seen the guys rock the turbines front to back on high throttle before they fly to make sure there are no fuel line bubbles or interruptions. Not sure if that was the problem for you but nice job! I'm a fan of RC planes. Good luck

      Hi yes I believe I had gotten a air bubble in the line but I believe it was from a cheap uat I had been using which was changed out now so I should be good.

    I’d practice taxi out and stand mid field so you can see the plane rotate right in front of you.. plus, ya won’t look like a noob

      I get that but this being a new field and super rough I’d rather stand behind the jet and I’m not worried about how I look but thanks for the advice.

    Nice save! I think I could hear your sphincter lock up tight enough to make diamond from coal.

      @thehanger3436  Год назад

      Thanks yeah I was more worried about the turbine getting damaged if I crashed than the jet. Jet isn’t too expensive but the turbine is pricey for sure.

    The foamies lose speed real fast, if you had just put on flap at turbine shutdown I suspect it would have come in pretty easy, I have made the same mistake as you putting the gear down I have a A4 setup and the freewing gear is ok but doesn’t take abuse , so in these cases I leave the gear up. When I fly at a field as rough as that looks I use gear for takeoff and belly land .
    And all freewing that I have flown seem to have slightly short nose wheels and therefore no positive angle of attack on the ground hence your 4x longer than needed takeoff roll, I manage at least 3-5mm (1/8+) shim on the nose retract and it makes huge difference for us that always fly of grass,

      Thanks for the info. I haven’t really ever had issues with the freewing landing gear if I land normal and even on takeoffs I usually get up faster but this being the first time I had flown this jet I didn’t wanna is flaps but I think if I had used them it would have lifted off earlier. I’ll give what you said and try and see how I like it though. Thanks for the info.

      @@thehanger3436 I like to use a bit of flap to on takeoff just to get that bit of extra lift in the wing. But extending nose wheel does the most , I have a CARF j10 210turbine kinda similar p/w ratio as our foamies and it sits like 10 degrees nose up and takes off in 10 feet , my A4 now about same.

      @@robward7662 oh ok I see that’s good to know and I will have to try it out for sure. Thanks for the info

    Nice job getting it down with only minor damage to that retract. Could have been MUCH worse!

    • @thehanger3436
      @thehanger3436  Год назад

      Thanks and yes definitely could have been way worse and the retract was fine just wasn’t glued in very well from the start from the looks but now it’s all better. Just have to find a new field that allows turbines because they no longer allow them at this field.

    amazing - good managing the delay of the turbine for landing. Good Job! No weelbrakes at the plane?

      Thank you yes it has wheel breaks but I was afraid to try and land it with how much speed I had when the turbine had a flame out.

    I don't think foam and fuel turbines are a good Idea either, you can see where the nozzle outlets are scorching the foam, sorry but this Is a fire ball just waiting to happen, on that nice dry field as well, I hope you carry fire extinguishers and can run fast? 😉🙃😅

    • @thehanger3436
      @thehanger3436  Год назад +2

      Hi I get why you would think that but were you see the foam heated up is not from regular running and flying that was actually from when fuel got in the tail pipe which was my fault because when I was fueling one time I didn’t have my fuel valve closed all the way so I had a hot start otherwise it would be fine. I have zero heat problems in this jet or my avanti. Also yes we always carry fire extinguishers as they are required to fly turbines and any other rc plane. As long as you have a proper tail pipe you will have no problems with melting the foam.

  • @russcole5685
    @russcole5685 2 года назад +2

    do you loose any thrust with using the twin tail pipe. I'm assuming it's a one into two bificated pipe
    nice landing, great save. did you loose fuel pressure,. ya running a UAT

    • @thehanger3436
      @thehanger3436  2 года назад +2

      Yes definitely lost some thrust compared to my Avanti but for this model it seemed fine.

    • @thehanger3436
      @thehanger3436  2 года назад +2

      Also yes I have a uat but I’m gonna be changing it out I think it probably got to many bubbles in it because it’s the one that came with the kit and it’s kinda cheap. In my Avanti I had no issues at all but I used the map uat. Yeah I got very lucky with the landing thankfully I didn’t freak out and got my retracts out and kept calm.
