    It's going to be very complicated for Remco to win this Vuelta, but finishing on the podium remains possible. But one thing was somehow comforting : he finished the climb with a stronger pace, closing a bit the gap with Roglic. It means he knows his limits very well. He could have tried to answer To Roglic's attack and burn himself instead. Wise management of the final climb I'd say

In the bad old days campy brakes were designed for fine control rather than brute force, and though non racers would laugh at that notion, they did make it easy to stay 6 inches off the wheel in front of you even on a tricky course.

    STUPID from sepp to do high fives, one of the spectators could have covid ! annyway a nice victory of sepp ! Remco played it verry smart , he didnt forced himself . He showed 2 days ago how good he is . In the Vuelta of 2023 he did the same and everyboddy was telling " remco cant ride a whole grand tour on a big level " and they where all wrong because he won that vuelta ;-) . So lets all hope Remco can hold up this level, ottherwise its gonna be a boring vuelta if Jumwo controlls and wins it all . All ther rest of the teams can fight for the thirth place in this vuelta....

    This is the problem for Teams who are stacked with talent. How to hang on to them. Sepp has shown he is good enough to win a GT in the right team so it remains to be seen how long Jumbo can hold onto him. Even if Roglic were to leave, would Sepp be happy as No.2?

    • @andrasszabo1570

      Did they ever stage a GT without time trials? Would be the only way Kuss could ever contend for one, let alone win it.
      He's never shown he has the consistency to be up there for 21 stages without fail.
      He also said he prefers to work for somebody else than have all the pressure on him for a result.
      I'm happy for him too, but let's keep the perspective. He only won because he was in the breakaway and it was given an ample advantage.
      He lost about 2 minutes on the Javalambre compared to Roglic and Vingegaard, would've finished with Arensman if he didn't have a head start.
      Do you also hail Arensman as "good enough to win a GT" after finishing 10th from the GC group?

      @@andrasszabo1570 good point, but I wonder if we have never seen that ability from Sepp because his role in the team has always been to sit of the front on the big mountain stages? Based on the way he does that stage after stage, then I have to think he might have the engine to be a decent TT rider, given the chance?

    • @andrasszabo1570
      @andrasszabo1570 Год назад

      @@BlueMoonday19 Based on him always having terrible results in time trials, whether as a junior, Rally, national team or Jumbo, I'd say it's a him problem than a Jumbo problem.
      Just because he can climb doesn't mean that he's got the engine for flat time trials.
      Most pure climbers have terrible ITTs, like Bardet, Landa, Quintana, etc.
