Everything is plant based in my house! 🌱❤️
I always make my own holiday roast from ground and chopped cashews, brown rice, plant milk, onions, bread crumbs, olive oil, Bragg Liquid Aminos, parsley, sage, celery, salt and pepper. (We've probably eaten this every year since becoming vegans in 1975.) It's so good served with mashed potatoes, peas, winter squash, cranberry sauce and salad!

It really is incredible how loving and sweet these birds are... I raised 2 chickens and they are hands down the best pets I've ever had and easily the biggest sweethearts in the universe
At Farm Sanctuary and Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary, they have a "Thanksliving" celebration where they feed the turkeys-just as you're doing.

We’ve always had Turkey at Christmas (I’m British) but I haven’t personally eaten it for many years. There was a Turkey crown in our table last year but my family is now mostly not really meat eaters. I’m hoping to persuade them not to have Turkey this year but to try something new.
We are not having turkey for our Thanksgiving! And I never will.
Haven’t had turkey in years and feel better about it. There are so many non meat options. Like lentil loaf

5 of us are vegan at our thanksgiving dinner. So, I am making mashed potato, stuffing, whipped sweet potato (with bourbon barrel aged maple 😁), something with lentils (possibly a loaf), and oatmeal raisin cookies! I hope everyone I cook for is thankful!

The two words are not synonymous.
Whole food plant based would be healthy.
Sugar, Cola Cola, Oreos, Oil, many Dark Chocolate products, Flour products, many Margarines....are all Vegan, and not even close to being healthy.
Before "veganism" can be blamed, in all fairness, first I would like to know what, how much, how often and when they ate. How it was prepared - raw, cooked or deep fried etc

My wife and I have gone to Thanksgiving gatherings for years where we bring our vegan alternative and watch others eat turkey. It always makes me sick and sad. This year we are serving dinner at our house and telling everybody that they are welcome to come but it will be entirely vegan-no animal products allowed!

I veganize all the traditional Thanksgiving foods like mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole,
corn green chile casserole ( a New Mexico thing) and sweet potato with vegan marshmallows.

@@adorable3817 Yes, I have watched Cowspiracy and I find it interesting and compelling. However, it may not be a good watch for younger viewers because it is more complicated than some other films. Of course it depends on the intellect of the children.
I would recommend H.O.P.E. (Healing of Planet Earth). There are some graphic footage, but they can look away. I gives a good introduction to the idea of veganism.

@@adorable3817 I don't know much about Thanksgiving, because here in Sweden where I live we don't celebrate it.
With that said, I think that many traditions and holidays often lose their purpose. For instance Christmas, it used to be a holiday to appreciate family and friends and care for people who are less fortunate. Today, however I see it as a commerce for mindless consumption. And Christmas in Sweden is the bloodiest and most violent celebration there is due to the amount of dead animals most people stuff in their face during the holiday. I guess it's the same with Thanksgiving. Not only, as you pointed out, does its rest on a bloody and violent heritage, but it is also celebrated by killing millions more of non-humans.

Unfortunately humans are carnivores and not plant eaters. You can feed a dog plants or yourself too, but there's a price to pay. You and your dog will suffer sooner or later. You have to eat animals because your body is designed to lie it or not, it's just the way it is. Be kind to animals while your here and end their lives when your hungry. That's how EVERYTHING HERE does it, were are NO EXCEPTION.
