- Our Argentina trip starts now! The biggest travel and food series we've ever created is kicking off in this travel blog by visiting Buenos Aires for 3 days. Firstly, we highlight our flight from Toronto to Buenos Aires in the dead of winter in Canada arriving in Argentina in mid-summer - a 70 degree weather change!
Our first order of business in Buenos Aires is to grab great local food in Recoleta so we head over to one of favorite restaurants in the city Bodegon Norte to grab a meal consisting of Milanesa, salad, ravioli pasta with a bottle of Argentine wine. We then grab Argentine ice cream (helado) at Rapa Nui including dulce de leche flavour.
We start off day two with breakfast in Buenos Aires at La Biela having cafe con leche with media luna. Afterwards we check out the nicest bookstore in the city, and one of the most beautiful in the world, El Ateneo before grabbing pizza slices at Banchero. We finish the day off visiting Recoleta cemetery one of the most famous attractions in Buenos Aires.
For our last day in Buenos Aires we start off with facturas and coffee for breakfast before heading to Puerto Madero for a stroll and a ship museum. For lunch we have delicious Argentine parrilla (grilled beef) with Malbec wine.
Overall, this was our 3 days itinerary in Buenos Aires. We'll be back again soon!

OUR ARGENTINA TRIP STARTS NOW! | Visiting Buenos Aires for 3 Days:
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine.
From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut.
While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.

Guys Argentina is one of my dream destinations thank you for sharing !!! Cuz I grew up with Argentinian drama series and soap operas
Very cool to hear Nyan! Hope you can visit soon.
Thanks nysan! I am argetinian Where are you from?
The food in Argentina is amazing, but I think the friendliness of the people is what makes Argentina special . Caring, friendly and talkative. Good people. At least that is what I remember:0)
Thanks Sandy! I couldn't agree with you more.
and dont forget the motochorros they are all over buenos aires
@@lucasamore8531 What's a motochorros
@@samvohra6992 pickpockets in motorcycle. Moto = motorcycle, chorro: slang for thief.
@@Yetia Thanks.... I got it now

Oh how we miss sweet Argentina :-)
Looking forward to having you revisit again hopefully soon!
Argentina seems to be a mix of Spain and Italy...
Has a lot of those elements Kris!
Well, It is actually precisely that. Because of massive immigration from those countries.
But at the same time it has a Latin American component. That is why it could be said that it is the mixture of a Spanish, Italian and Latin American cultures.
Greetings!
And more!
you are absolutely right

I want to go to Argentina with Audrey's dad. I could sit and listen to him all day!!
Thanks Elisa! It is great listening to his explanations.
I love how dads not shy and you respect moms wishes not to be on camera!
Thanks Kammie! He's great on camera. A true natural.
That huge tree is called "Gomero", its over 200 years old. Great video and great food... as usual!
Thank you! What a tree!
Hoping to see many alfajores consumed😛😀
Thank you! Alfajores will be making MANY appearances in this series, I can assure you of that :)
Wow, that bookstore. I think I'm in love! If I lived in Buenos Aires, I'd visit there every week.
Thanks Anne! We can totally relate. It is the most beautiful book store we've ever visited to be honest. We love how they have a cafe inside as well. I think this is our third time back and we'll likely revisit again.
Funny, I walked pass it this afternoon, I was having a shitty day and just wanted to go home, but still just walking by it I remembered how gorgeous it is and it actually kinda helped.
I used to live only 3 blocks from there when I was young and I remember visiting very often to just walk around and browse through the books.
I've been there, it's basically just like an American Barnes and Noble
I went there in july for the first time, the Ateneo Grand Splendid is the most beautiful library I've been to (I literally cried of happiness
Buenos Aires looks very charming and relaxed... thank you for bringing us here..... love how almost every meal has a bottle of wine to go with it.
Is it common in Argentina to put ice cube into their red wine to chill it?
Thanks John! Food +wine is very common. In the summer months sometimes people prefer it with ice.
Yes. mostly and specially during the lunch wine goes with soda and ice. But my experience people don''t drink much at lunch.@@samuelandaudrey
Omg I can tell that we would love Argentina! Great job on showing us around guys! 👌
Thank you very much! We're so excited to be finally sharing this series! It will be our biggest yet.
Great start to the series - excited to see Argentina - we’ve been wanting to go!

Lovely city! And the prices for the food is amazing. The Argentine breakfast is my kind of breakfast. I'm happy with my Nescafe with leche and a bagel or toast.....I know I would enjoy those croissants. :-) Love your videos.....I feel like if I'm there with you guys. :-) P.S. With all due respect to Audrey.....you Sam, look super cute without your fuzzy beard. :-)
Thank you very much Yoli! I started off clean-shaven and then I think I let my beard grow...haha That is so cool to hear. Aside from leche do you put other kinds of spreads on your bagel or toast typically?
@@samuelandaudrey I like cream cheese and strawberry jam on my bagel and toast. It's yummy! :-)
Beautiful country (with god awful politicians) I really want to go there, my mom’s from there, the food is great and it’s beautiful
That is great to hear Daniel! I hope you'll be able to visit soon :)
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos I just need to get my passport and then hello Argentina and Chile
Chile is incredible to visit as well!
You are right about our politicians 😂
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos Yeah, I really want to meet my grandmother in person for the first time, she lives in Argentina and Chile, and I think Latin America has some of the best cuisine in the world (and for cheap too)
"Dad is good" love the passion.
Thank you very much1
The dad is so amusing!
Thanks Marina!
Awesome. My wife and I are leaving for Buenos Aires tomorrow for two weeks. We're staying in the San Telmo area.
Wow, awesome to hear Patrick! Have a great trip!
I hope you have a nice trip, Patrick!
The San Telmo neighborhood is very pretty, but it can be a bit dangerous when it gets dark.
So I advise you to take some precautions.
Greetings!
@@federicostritzler7650 Thanks. We had heard some people say that San Telmo and La Boca could get dangerous at night. Luckily, we didn't experience anything like that.
@@hubberjub
That's true. San Telmo and La Boca are not good areas to walk when it gets dark. They are quite lonely places (
with the exception of the main tourist areas) and where you can probably find criminals and drunkards.
I'm glad you had no problems during your visit. Regards

@@samuelandaudrey I daren't say, just for a couple of days, then on to Mendoza ...
Mendoza is incredible!
Enjoy your stay here!
That is great, frappuccino68!

This winter I am planning on visiting Peru and Argentina thanks to you guys! Your Peru /Argentina vids are the best ... especially when you showcase the food! BTW your camera quality is amazing.. so crisp and clear ☺️☺️
Thank you very much! So exciting to hear about your Peru/Argentina trip! You'll eat very well.
Hope you enjoyed Buenos Aires, you certainly had some good food! Some clarifications: The bridge in Puerto Madero is dedicated to women because all streets in Puerto Madero are named after women. And the Fragata Sarmiento was a school ship but it's now permanently stationed there as a museum. The Fragata Libertad is another sail ship that is currently used as described in the video.
Thank you Federico! Appreciate the information.
Such a fun family trip! I think it's amazing how you guys work well together. Audrey's dad is knowledgeable and clearly enjoys being on the camera. The whole video was easy and entertaining. Enjoyed it.
Thank you very much! SO happy to do these trips with family.
I reaaaaally love foreign people coming to my wonderful country! It's amazing :)
Thank you! We had a great visit.

Thank you very much! So excited to be back in BA :)
My mom aunt and a family friend and I are going to Argentina in December! I am so excited! I lived in Córdoba Argentina for 13 months back in 2014. I absolutely loved everything about it! We will go back and visit Córdoba but we are also going to Buenas Aires and Iguazú falls! It’s been almost 6 years since I have been to Argentina but I am so excited to go back! Thank you all for sharing your videos!!
I am a little worried when we go out to restaurants though because out of the four, I am the only one that speaks Spanish!
That is so very exciting! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time on your trip. It'll be so nice to retrace your steps and get to share it with family. Happy travels, Mikinzie!! ✈️😊🇦🇷
Amazing Argentina video guys well done 😊😊❤️❤️
Thank you very much Shaheer! We love being back in Argentina.
My pleasure Samuel and Audrey 😊😊❤️❤️
Thank you so much for the awesome video, I want to highlight one thing in this video, I liked the way Audrey's father explained details about meat, pizzas, breakfast, I felt like I learnt some new things. Thank you!
Thanks Devender! He's really good at explaining things.
Whenever I see your videos , I just want to pack my bags 😂
Thanks Prachi! That is such a kind thing to say. If you could pack your bags and go anywhere tomorrow where would that be?
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos it’s lovely to see you respond to all my messages .. I love you both a lot ... whenever I feel down I see your videos and dream about travel.. next place I would love to explore would be machu pichu
Thank you for loving Argentina as much as we do! ♥
Thanks Sofi! We're having a great time in Argentina.
Argentina oui
:)
I'm getting more and more curious of BA (despite it being far away from northern Europe). But your videos have a lot to do with that growing fascination. ;) And even though there's a lot of focus on food (which I appreciate too) the viewer also get a lot of the BA vibes from you videos. The people, places, atmosphere, streets and parks and so on. It's invaluable. So big thanks!
Thank you very much Anna! That is great to hear. Hope you can visit someday.
@@samuelandaudrey Hi and thanks for Your kind reply. You know what? I've decided to live in BA next winter (if the vaccination tempo doesn't slow down even more). I don't know if it's due to the virus and restrictions but the rents for a 3-months stay in BA seem great atm. Do prices for f ex airbnb-rentals, or for that matter everyday articles one buy in a mercadona, go a lot up and down?
Otherwise I'm mostly trying to figure out whether or not its a bit more quiet (regarding traffic and nightclubs and that) to rent an apartment high up (
I saw the green sauce 33:50 and couldn't remember the name..Ah! Chimichurri is sooo good with steak.
It goes so well with steak! Ah man, craving that right now.
Buenos Aires looks amazing! Awesome how no every time Audrey loses her husband she knows to find him in the wine section every time they go missing in the grocery store. Keep making videos
Hahaha...that is so true Matt! Thank you!
Just another great video with Sam & Audrey along with her parents! Your videoes just continue to get more enjoyable with each upload. Just so well edited & done to perfection. So glad to see you back in Buenos Aires again as its such a beautiful place. Take care and safe travels.
Thank you very much Lynn! So nice to finally be getting this series out there.
Love the long form videos. Very relaxing. Good pace.
Thnks Jenna! We're enjoying trying out this format.
Buenos Aires is such an amazingly beautiful place, but it's so dangerous - for waistlines, that is! I was last there in 2015 - I should make it back there sometime soon!
Thanks James! hahaha....I hear you! Everytime we come back from an Argentina trip we're a little heavier.
Multiple types of dulce de leche?? Can see why everyone was recommending Rapanui!
Hahaha...that place is awesome
Audrey, love your dad in this video lol. He knows his food!
Thank you very much Lawrence! He sure does love his food.
Very good video..!!👍😎👋👋
Thank you very much Yoshi!
I have to thank you guys for some great recommendations - I went to the Bodegon Norte restaurant and had some Ravioli and to be honest, it was better than any pasta dish I’ve had in Italy!! I also had afternoon tea in La Biela thanks to your suggestions - what a great place to people watch, and great coffee!! Thanks once again for helping make my visit to Buenos Aires fantastic!
Thank you very much! So glad you got to visit both places. We so miss Bodegon Norte!

Thank you very much Mariposa!
@@samuelandaudrey You're welcome, guys. I don't comment much while viewing travel videos. I'm too awed by what I see, hear and taste. You two are a role model for many who believe that, yes, it is possible to travel with the person you love -- be you married or otherwise partnered. I'm a solo traveler, but I nonetheless am inspired by your travels! Bravo!

Bienvenido a Argentina 。
Gracias Michael!
Now i see there is a lot of Italy in Argentina. XD Im from Piedmont (Piemonte) like the ravioli Sam eats :) But we havent ravioli in piemonte, we have Agnolotti. Please visit Turin and Piedmont one day guys !! (Piedmont, Alba is also the home of Ferrero, where Nutella was invented... just saying)
I'm Argentinian and we're about to eat ravioli, it's a common food consumed Sundays, asado (BBQ) or fresh pasta, tallarines, ravioli, ñoquis, canelones , we eat agnolotis too but it's more a restaurant food than something that your eat in your home
That is cool to hear Ebefren! Lots of Italian food in Argentina.
So much delicious pasta in Argentina!
That is true. Argentina has a lot of influence from Italy due to immigration.
Yes we had plenty of italian immigration here, don't get confuse by the names, we had mixed lots of italian names and changed foods too and made our own versions, for example: One of the most popular pasta here is called "sorrentino" but it doesn't exist in Italy, it's like a big ravioli but different, greetings.
