Anybody who is just starting out, I’ve been playing for a little over 2 months now, the best way to learn these lessons easier is to lock your screens orientation & flip it upside down, it gives you a exact image for hand placement purposes. Just a super helpful beginner tip. Good luck, it only gets more fun and you get better the more you experience it!

Ive been playing for three years...started when I was forty-one. No natural talent. First song I learnt was Freak by Silverchair.... really simple stuff. Now....oh boy....now....I can play songs like Sweet Child 'o' Mine, November Rain, Alive. Sometimes I can't believe that it is actually me playing. Twelve months in I still believed I would never be able to play stuff like that, but for the new players, you just have to practice and practice. I used to play nine or ten hours a day for that first year. You will keep getting better and you will play those long two-minute solos if you want to. I started learning these vocal-melody style songs at first but after a while I started to realise that I could learn a thousand songs in this style but never actually improve as a player, so I decided to move on to the rock instead. Started with some Offspring, Blink 182, and Green Day, but oh my god they are so easy to learn and play. I progressed to AC/DC and MCR. Green Day and Offspring songs you can learn in twenty minutes.....literally.....but it did take a whole month to learn songs like Sweet Child and Comfortably Numb. The effort and practice is all worth it, but you got to want it. Keep it up, keep pushing yourself to play things that you think are beyond you, and, in time, you'll be amazed at what you can do.
