- Project Cars 3 review.
I've tried to be objective and review the game as a game, rather than a Project Cars game. Although, I do completely understand any frustration based on the change of direction for the series.

One day I hope to see a vid with a title like this where you just say Yes and then insert 18 minutes of black screen and silence..
Same.
lmao
Yes, please.
But he didn't say it's bad
Looks like Forza 4
Putting a subtitle like Forza does with the Horizon games would've been enough to set it apart from the first two
It's not anything like that. It's a mobile game that was ported to pc and console last minute.
@@sqlevolicious Yeah, I'm not saying the game isn't bad, I'm just talking from a marketing standpoint. I understand they wanna capitalize on the brand recognition, but they could've done it without setting false expectations for a new sim racer.
Feels much more of a game than mobile games. There's no mobile games that are on this quality level.
Hei Agreed, that would have been the way to go if they wanted to keep it under the PCars franchise. Then also develop a full on Sim too.
@@sailor-doom exactly. it just DOESNT MAKE SENSE, lol. what were they thinking?! they get paid the big bucks to be smarter than all of us and yet they somehow missed the most obvious thing in the whole goddam world. no offense to them but sms's marketing etc.... maybe they are not qualified to be in their positions, lol.

@@skurd721 perhaps... arcade physics in a simulator environment 🤔
Project Cars: SHIFT would’ve been perfect because, not only is it addressing the shift from sim to arcade, it’s also referring to the glory days of NFS SHIFT.
MrCopter it should have the word “cars” in it because that implies it’s a sim.
Community Assisted Racing Simulator remember?
And the game seems and looks like a successor to NFS shift series, neat
Funny thing is, other than the car list, its a worst version of shift in each and every single category.
Shift is probably copyrighted by EA when it comes to racing games.
Wrong. It's not even close to being as good as Shift. Project Crap is more fitting.
They should've named it something like "Project Drive".
Not a bad name tbf
Or maybe at least Project Cars: Drive. Don't make it a sequel, make it a spinoff.
Project cars don’t buy this game unless your a casual gamer and not a true sim racer
All that yellow. That horrible unending yellow...
Project Banana... 🍌🍌🍌
Joel Schembri Actually an open world spinoff would work well for PS4/5, because Horizons is Microsoft only, PS4 doesn’t really have a good open world racer... but it’s likely to struggle against players who already have options.
And yeah, I’ve said from the git go that the tragedy isn’t that SMS made this game. It’s that they STOPPED making the other one. I’ve used that FM7/Horizons analogy myself. PD and Turn Ten need to send SMS a thank you card. SMS made an introduction to racing game, but if you want to progress even a tiny bit more realistically, you HAVE to go play their games (or an even harder core sim)...
I can’t get over the fact that it looks like a mobile game
Edit: Thanks for the likes!

Edit: Wow given how many likes it seems SMS screwed up..... again.
I'd say that says more about phone graphics these days than anything else.
Btw, are you watching this video on mobile like most of us?
@@jamesn5625 I think it's a combination of lighting/colour pallet and menu design that give off that mobile feel.

It looks like its straight out of 2006, just like the rest of the graphics.
Yeah little clouds flying across the track lol wtf
Bruuuuh that's hilariously bad!
Jep!
For a 2020 arcade game the graphics are horrendous
I think they’re saving the fancy graphics for the next gen console versions
Maybe it's nostalgia goggles on my part, but it doesn't look much better than Forza 4.
@@wadco-1131 isnt this the next gen?
Ganymede IX well Forza 4 is a 360 game
Graphics should really be a ton better for 2020. Feels like a 2014 in terms of graphic/smoothness.
The real question. Is WHY. This title definitely sinks the project cars series...
It's the Mass Effect Andromeda of racing games.
The studio got bought by codemasters, they made a codemaster game. Now Take 2 has bought Codemasters so yeah, fair to say this is dead and burried. Fucking shame. Not that many sims on console. Lets hope Automobilista 2 gets good and gets ported to new gen. They'll get all the disgrunteled PrC fans

Okay, so here's my problem, here: Everybody keeps saying words like 'Arcade' and 'Simulator' and mentioning games like SHIFT and Driveclub and Gran Turismo, but nobody has a definitive scale of how arcadey or simulatorey any of these games are in any concrete fashion!
One a scale of 1(Need For Speed/Burnout/Midnight Club) to 9(iRacing/Rfactor/Assetto Corsa), where do GT Sport, Forza, Forza Horizon, Project Cars 3 and SHIFT end up?That would make a good video and it should, but just off the top of your head where would you put them?
GT Sport 6, Forza 4-5, the rest are, Idk.
In the middle as Forza Motorsport Gran Turismo and GRID allow you to play the way you like if u want to play it like an arcade game u have assists and if u want to go a bit realistic turn all the assists off and in Forza M4 and GT4 it's a completely different experience imo games u mentioned are simcade having a focus on arcade and also maintaining realism.
@@saadhasan2518 WTF are you talking about? Turning off assists doesn't make it a sim.
@@R4M_Tommy I mean the overall experience if u keep the assists on it means u want to be non serious and have fun but if u turn the assists off it means u want to be serious as simcade games have damage which affects your car tyre wear and fuel depletion turned on
@ yeah Grid is too arcadey whereas Forza is a sim-cade which feels better than this game.
Everybody is saying the same thing and yes,the game is cool, but It should be renamed as...
Project cars Go!?
A spinoff of the project cars
No, id say ditch the Project CARS title entirely and make a new IP. I only learned recently that Project CARS actually stands for something. Community Assisted Racing Simulator, I think, or something really close to that so using that name is just a complete middle finger.
Project CARS No Go.

Huge respect this review is brilliant, didn’t let anybody else’s opinion or the general consensus decide for you, gave you’re own personal review. Unlike some other content creators. Appreciate it!
What dont you like about this game?I bet most of u haters never even played it.
@@xboxx706 I've played it and it's fucking terrible lmao. Currently getting a refund from steam.
Jeff Heinick So you just played under 2 hours 😂
@@RyanStark-sy6xm Yup, that's all the time I needed.
This game has no idea who it wanted to target. At it's core it's not a very good arcade racing game, and the few sim aspects that are left, other games do it better.
The gameplay isn't immersive, but yet also doesn't have a lot of excitement or any wow factors. Setups are customizable but really only change the cars a tad. Gameplay features have been retracted, and considering this isn't a sim anymore I'm not exactly sure why why you'd take things away when the sheer driving is no longer the focus.
The graphics are dog shit. It's not because they're "bad" per say, but because there's zero reason for them to look worse than their 2017 predecessor. There's no reason for them to even look the same. We have more powerful PC hardware and the optimization of current consoles are the best they ever will be. No reason for model textures to be 1024x1024. Lighting isn't the best, distant textures are even worse, and for some reason the cars are either slammed to the ground or feel like monster trucks.
The thing with this guys review, there's too much sugar coating, there's too much beating around the bush. All these ifs and thats that are put in place instead of actual criticism. Pissing off Codemasters because their newest studio put out a lackluster game shouldn't be a thing.
@@RyanStark-sy6xm It dont take long to know that cow manure is cow manure, I played 10 minutes, uninstalled it, it is garbage not even close to pc2, that they tried to rip me off for more money, if I want shift I will buy shift.

Tycho bruh the gran turismo on PS2 graphics is better than this

"needs some fixing" Oh no worries, they won't do such a useless task, once it's released it is either left the way it is and they work on DLC's or announce PC4.
I mean, it doesn't exactly shock me they getting far more Arcade, the Sim Fanbase left PC2 ages ago to play Games where the Devs actually care about the Game.
And their angry twitter doesn't take any criticism at all.
That is what I had been saying, no one used PC as THE simulator to go... the games are fine but quite buggy imo. Im happy with this release tbh
@@m-pouya-m I mean, I suppose it also depends on the criticism. If it's about bugs, it's definitely unwarranted, but if it's "WHY NO SIM??", that's like telling Capcom "WHY DOES RYU HAVE A FIREBALL, THAT'S SO CHEAP" instead of actually understanding the mechanics of the game that were intentionally put in.
ChergioPad I did. When you have a ps4 and not a lot of money, you learn to enjoy what you have, and I didn’t feel the same way as half of the ppl with lots of criticisms for pc 1 and 2.
Oooh the hypocrisy of this post, calling out a developer for having DLCs when nearly every sim racer has $100+ worth of DLC or fees.
This is the most fair and honest review I've seen, glad you kept a open mind to the game. I've echoed lot what has been said in this video, I feel like the potential is Multiplater and could keep me entertained to PS5, along with ACC and GTSport, credit to you for not following the hate train mate 👍 also I like that you have clearly played the game enough to give a fair review.
Its not a hate train. Project cars is meant to be a sim. People were expecting it to be one. Not to mention console has only 2 sims: ACC competitzione and PC 2 Everything has been downgraded from graphics to amount of tracks. Also the hud and menu is something you'd expect on Asphalt 10...
Its an awful game end of. Its not a good arcade game either. Its a shambles of a game and frankly a cash grabbing disgrace. There is no balance to be found here. Its awful...
Looks like a hate train in this very comment reply section even 😆😆
This garbage is for nitwits. I got a refund for mine. This is the biggest disappointment in gaming I've experienced thus far. I thought it was Fallout 76, but this beats that by a 100 laps.
Hate train? Are you crazy, they literally removed the handling model and replaced it with the GRID model. They havent updated the car list or track list or graphics, they have lessened the weather effects and options, they've removed all detail from the settings, there isnt even a steering sensitivity setting, there's no vibration or feedback when you're driving, every car drifts around every corner, even f1 cars, theres no tyre choice, no championships, they've put all the cars in to simple categories that aren't balanced, they've recycled all the sound from GRID so you get the same dude speaking to you all race sayimg irrelevant dumb stuff. Its easily the worst racing game ive played. Its got all the tracks and cars of a sim, but its not a sim. Its got the menus and voice over and music of an arcade game, but its not an arcade game. It literally handles worse than Need For Speed. How is that possible?
If I had to review your review of Project Cars 3, I’d give it a 4.5/5.

jblac201 Kinda generous :)

The game is 2.5/5 at best.
This is a really great review of the game. You acknowledged all the game's flaws and criticisms without being a dick about it and asked the question of whether it's genuinely a terrible game or not in a way that was fair and balanced, as much as you could considering how flawed some aspects of the game are. I wish more people had covered the game like that instead of just flaming it for not being like the older Project Cars games or being really sarcastic about it for like 30 minutes. Well done, Super GT. I wish more people who reviewed games on RUclips covered things as well as you have here.
Cheers mate, appreciate the comment.

What? I thought it was normal. That's how clouds form in my city, they spawn out of nowhere. It isn't supposed to work like that?
Nick S. 🤣🤣you must live in the same area as the devs, does the world look all low resolution over there too?
I would honestly be scared to drive in that city lol
I logged my first couple hours this evening, here's some initial thoughts:
-Shouldn't be called Project CARS 3
-Physics aren't 'die-hard' (arcade), but your inputs work exactly as expected (sim-esque). I'd compare the realism to DiRT 1-4. It's fun to flick around on a gamepad.
-Car classes. WTF? By far my biggest issue this this title. GTE, GT3, NASCAR Stock Car, V8 Supercar, and a random Lamborghini street car all competing for the same positions. Same with vintage open wheel cars from 68-78 (Indy 500 cars and F1 cars) competing on the same race track. So frustrating to see this. It's one thing I just cannot get past. Similar to Forza in that aspect.
-The AI cheat. Rubberbanding is definitely in effect. Creates slingshots from behind and traffic jams ahead. Keeps the racing tight, so it is what it is.
-Graphics look fine on PC. Not spectacular, and not ugly. Some effects are definitely exaggerated, but you can turn down motion blur and camera shake in the options.
-Car customization is silly. Livery editor is there, but very restricted.
-UI is clunky and feels like Forza Horizon. When you finish a race, you literally have meters filling up for like 4 different leveling systems. Driver rating, Driver level, Car level, and track level. Who cares about anything except driver rating?
Final thought - Wait until it goes on sale. I'd spend $30 on this title. Wasn't worth the full $60.
Well, don't you know that the predecessors still have the glitches to the physics during the race?
that "random Lamborghini street car" isn't even a street car. It's a track-only vehicle. but yeah, with the car classes, I'm inclined to agree as different IRL classes are mixed up in a single pack. but hey, it makes for a lot of interesting races - when in the world would you ever see a Porsche 935, a Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, and a V8 Supercar compete in the same race?
honestly if there were a lot more class mix-ups in real-life races, I'd be more inclined to tune in to watch.
Thank you sir
Career mode is a random collection of turn challenges and time trials, this game is a hot mess. I'm extremely disappointed
Agree with alot of that but im still enjoying it.good to have an arcade racer in vr which is the way i have mainly been playing it.does need some patches to really make it shine

INB4: Try any 24h Endurance Race with any Gran Tourismo. Enjoy plebs.
The thing that pissed me off the most about this is how the developers tried to bullshit us on how realistic the game would be. Saying that removing tyre wear and pit stops resulted in “much closer and more consistent racing”. They could have just said yes this game is much more of an arcade game, but they decided to beat around the bush and act like this was the ultimate driver experience.
They did that so they could value the studio higher while selling to codemasters. It's literally an illegal market value manipulation tactic. SMS uppermanagement and ownership will see prison time for this.
The tracks are the most inaccurate examples I’ve ever seen, undoubtedly worse than forza. This games Laguna Seca looks like a completely different track to its real life example
Do yourself a favor and look up The Crew 2's version of Laguna Seca
The Crew 2 would like to have a word with you for the worst rendition of Laguna Seca in a racing game...
@@karlostrino3620 at least theres no events on it in the crew 2 so we don't have to suffer
@@casetodaizzo that was supposed to be laguna seca?
Gave it 15 mins, then got my refund from steam. Went back to PC2
This game is technicaly a complete mess. Not even working AA .... only way to get AA in this game without bad glitches is Reshade and using directional AA (a special version) which is the only effective AA in this game atm. fxaa, taa, smaa through reshade litteraly got no real effect XD
Beside that performance is bad for how it looks, missing graphicsettings like disabling dof is not included. Colorpalette makes the game look like a cheap mobilegame.
AI is very inconsistent depending on which track and car they drive on .... you litterely permanently need to balance ai strengh to have a level-experience.....its horsecrap XD
I have no problem with PC3 going arcade, but at least ,do a good one...
I think they went the route of fun over hardcore, no hardcore game will sell well. Look at Asetto Corsa games and previous entries, the SIM nerds keep slaying GT Sport as not a sim, but honestly fun is more important. If you can't connect the balance, you've simply wasted whatever millions you dumped into it.
These are still games and have their audiences but no time in history will the hardcore ever dominate anything other than being the best players in any game. They never make up the bulk of buyers who spend on these games, as long as hardcore players stay in their lane and not act like everyone wants to play a hardcore sim and find it fun.
People like different things, the bulk of the market is casual and to make money you need to ensure those people are attracted to your game. Fun is necessary in entertainment industry, hardcore players are niche. Just remember your idea of fun night be very different from a grip of others.
The visuals in this game reminds me of Forza 3 in visuals, but the game looks like it's a proper game, with a decent amount of modes of play. I'm betting this game will outsell Asetto Corsa Competitizione, proof that casuals prefer decent enjoyment over everything else.
You're making a lot of sense, unlike so many people who have judged it harshly without even playing it first or watching a more "objective" review. I bought the deluxe version and I'm glad I was able to jump in a few days early and judge it for myself.
@@toryrobinson8904 Any thoughts? I'm getting it very soon to review for the few viewers on my Twitch account, but I want a better idea of what go expect.
@@digitalcamaro9708 I bought the PC version and I'm using it with my XB1 controller. The handling is the standout so far. There's much more initial feedback than PC2 and you can really put the cars on the edge! The career mode is a grind, but you can skip ahead if you're willing to part with your precious currency.
The downsides so far are the reckless AI maneuvers and they feel overpowered in custom races for some reason. There's some graphical bugs, but these things can be sorted out with updates.
Overall, it's a really fun game and the multiplayer events have a lot of potential for exciting races! I hope that helps you out.
@@toryrobinson8904 Jeez the reviews are so polarized. A lot of people either like or hate the game.
@@digitalcamaro9708 I think the expectations has a lot to do with it. I didn't invest much time in the previous versions, so the change isn't so jarring for me.
Then there's the whole "is it really a sim" debate. It's a fun racing game and there are plenty of great sims out there already. I don't understand why that's not enough for people.
What bothers me so much about this game is that the fact that they have made Project CARS 2 with a bunch of features (and refinements) and they simply scrap it all up. Especially on the menu. Strictly in single player mode, you can choose multi class opponents. You can add weather feature to the game. You have qualifiers. And they decided to scrap it all up. Why? Even it changes direction to become an arcade game, those features that I mention could still be there to enhance the experience.
I also hate the fact that they scrap rallycross racing (which should be a blast in arcadeish game like this), they really downgrade the sound of the cars, and although it runs fine, the graphics are also a downgrade from the previous installation. I mean why? The game is about the same size wise, but the quality is just well below the previous instalment, and that should get nothing to do with the game changing its direction.
to me its clear that someone decided they needed a mobile game. corners then were all cut to get them one as fast as possible (no oun intended)
They shouldve made this some kind of spin-off and they would've avoid most of the hate. This way this seems just massive cash grab but hey codies bought SMS so it is not too much of surprise.
This game was in development well before CM appeared. The choices had already been set in stone. CM can have many things thrown at them, but they had two choices, either let SMS release it or bin the game. The game was more or less done, so it made more sense for them to just roll with it.
Oh God. I see title and i saw only one - very strange and heavy driving physisc.
A110S in real world and even in Gran Turismo Sport is agile and gripy car. Here - this is heavy chunk of aluminium with rubber.
I like the amount of cars. This is nice.
I regreat buying on premiere...
@BMO the signs are out there since PC1. Lol.
Is a solid and funny for all product.
The real mistake is the name, imo
The more I look at this game, the stronger the feeling of this being a port of the Project Cars Go mobile game gets.
Makes more and more sense, which is very disappointing.

Brilliant GT, brilliant!
This honestly sounds like a perfect game for me since Im not a fan of simulator physics, and a huge fan of simcade physics with sim elements like Driveclub and Forza Motorsport. Plus the fact that you keep mentioning Driveclub which has my upmost favorite physics, has me very interested 👍
Not for me...Totally utterly trash.....
@@petervoice2950 for me PC3 is 2.9/10 Game.
quick dirty answer: YES, it REALLY is that bad.
Never forget that the "CARS" in Project Cars stands for "Community Assisted Racing Simulator" WE made this series happen and they shit all over us.
They shat all over you when you did nothing but shit all over them. You treated PC and PC2 like an abusive boyfriend but now you cry and throw a fit when SMS leaves you for another playerbase that is friendly and won’t shit all over their work and expect them to crawl back to them. It wasn’t Codies or SMS that made them change gears, it was the sim community that refused to accept Project CARS but instead pointed and laughed at it.
Funny how the made pc with lots of things that needed fixing, then left that shit and made pc2 worse than the first? Why wouldn't the community shit on them? Then finally left pc2 as shit as it was and made an arcade game? Lamp they couldn't give a Fuck about the community
@@MrRolly2009 They release the first game to moderate success but the sim playerbase died off and was replaced by a more casual audience interested in getting into sim racing meanwhile the sim racing community shits on the game because it wasn’t exactly what they wanted. They try to make PC 2 better by listening to some complaints from the majority of fans, console players on gamepad while also giving sim racers a solid sim game however the game fails to sell well and the majority of sales were on consoles with a good majority of users being more casual. Meanwhile the sim racing community gives them zero understanding and claim the game to be an awful sim racing game. They then start rethinking their target audience, they look at the sales figures then the lack of sympathy and understanding from the community. They then go “We’ve given it our best shot, these people don’t understand the sheer difficulty of producing a sim racer without the monetisation scheme of prevalent sim-racers. Hell they called us greedy for trying to get more money to spend improving the experience. Now we’re really passionate about this game, we want to bring its style into the modern scene. Hey, the playerbase we have would probably enjoy it, we have a brand that has made itself known in modern gaming but we have a niche target playerbase that literally calls our games garbage. Well why don’t we make PC3 into this dream game of ours while keeping some simulation features to satisfy the casual sim-racer. Time to move on to greener pastures instead of trying to please people who are so elitist that if a game isn’t perfect it’s worth less then the dirt on their racing boots.”
You had what was the equivalent of a child. Trying to make its parents happy, however those parents talk crap about them right in front of them. No matter how hard they try, if their work wasn’t perfect you called them a failure. Now you’re surprised when that child starts to become rebellious and ignore you. You bullied a developer that was taking so many risks with PC because of how niche the sim-world is.
I'm very on the fence with this game. Loved the previous 2 but looks they went off course with this game. I play racing games like Forza and GT but I didn't buy Project CARS for that type of experience. Really silly that they tried to squeeze themselves into that category when they were building their own spot in the sim racing scene.
I mean...those graphics are just terrible🤦🏽♂️
Personally, the reviews I've seen of the game including this one have made me decide to put this game off. I'll pick it up on sale sometime if I'm feeling an urge to play essentially shift 3, which does conceptually to me sound like a good game.
By the way, was this footage shot with anti-aliasing off or is it really that bad?
PC3 is literally a mobile game called project cars go, that was ported to pc and console last minute to value the studio higher so that SMS can sell to codemasters and make tons of money.
EVOLICIOUS Pulled that staright out of your ass. Good job.
I haven't played PC2, but I loved the first one. This one looks like Shift with extra content and slightly better looking graphics. Except in the first NFS Shift, the damage on your car will affect the handling.
And those games are completely fine, having fun is the point of these kinds of games and they're great at doing that, the problem is how this game was marketed. And it's title.
True, most people disappointed look to be olds fans of the saga, I personally never played any of the other games, in fact this is my second racing game in console (in newer gen) other than NFS Rivals. I think the game looks and plays alright, a bit weird (maybe because I am not used to how it drives) but it's not bad at all
i know ill prob get death threats, but i love this game. For years i've been waiting for a game like gran turismo nfs shift; simcade racers. I know alot of diehard pcars fans are disappointed, but I'm having a blast playing this game.
It‘s just disappointing for the Project Cars fans. 1 & 2 were Simulators and PC3 is completly different; it‘s very acade like, like Forza Horizon or Motorsport. That‘s why the long term fans got so disappointed by it calling it a part of the series or even an improvent. I like Arcade racers too, so I quite enjoy it too.
I want a PC multiplayer racing game that is more sim than nfs or forza horizons, I like Dirt Rally alot but the head to head multiplayer is underwhelming. What should I go for?
Project cars games, definitely 2. Asseta corsa is very sim also i think. A new test drive is coming out but idk if its sim.
Not many sim racers are coming out :(
You see why this game followed the trend. Its like the word "sim" scares the average person.
IT IS INDEED really bad, from my point of view. I ve been playing PC2 for years and I WAS SO HYPED for this new chapter! I figured out how many things they could have done better... The game already was very very good, apart from a few things that were annoying.
Then, shame: everything that was built, got destroyed, it imploded basically. Instead of renewing what they had, improving it, they demolished it and built something completely different. Different doesn't mean worse, of course, but in this case YES, IT DOES.
What a shame, I feel so damn bad. I was looking forward for this game...
100% agreed. I was so hyped for this game when they announced PC3, but after I so the early footage of it...I knew this was it.
It's such a shame.
Project Cars 3 is more of a arcade game now.
Hot take
Hold the presses
becasue it's literally a ported mobile game
Watching this video made me miss Driveclub even more. I loved that game so much.
Pretty sure this is gonna be free on PS Plus sometime next year, early next year if they come out with DLC packs and shit
Driveclub was fantastic. great racing game
I was expecting to see boost pads on the asphalt lol
Works well with a wheel. Makes it more sim for me than Forza. Also doesn't seem to have the crazy weird builds Forza had, though how the balance plays out remains to be seen. Maybe Forza can get that fixed next time, but I ain't holding my breath. I'm enjoying PC3. I have ACC for sim racing, having a fun pick up and play game. I've already had clean races in multiplayer on XBox I can't seem to even get on ACC unless I race in leagues. The safety rating seems to at least make a difference with early access players, and I'm sure like GTS it will with higher safety ratings on full release tomorrow.
having played on PC this game looks awful on PS4
Love your content Super GT, you inspired me to start my own youtube channel.
Thank you for motivation.
Just nfs shift 3....
C'mon man, we half way through 2020.
That's a PRO STREET on 1:27.
I think you mean 2007 from the look of those graphics.
Even Pro Street has some sort of detail, like grass
I'm basically new to racing games, but I actually think it's got a nice aesthetic, menus included... I just played though Forza Horizon and then Motorsport, so I'm actually curious to play this one through and see how it compares and if I even notice the arcade/sim difference
I think you should mention the audio quality of the cars aswell in future racing game reviews, for me that's essential.
I just got this game used and was surprised at the arcade feel to the career mode. This review is spot on. I found the custom events made for some really fun battles with the AI. For me this game made for the best battles Ive had with AI.
That arcadey braking point at 3:41 gave me whiplash
Yes, yes it is.
Malaise tu peux disposax
This game is really not that bad. It is a good Simcade experience. If you don't like Simcade then fine, don't play it. Project CARS 2 and AssettoCorsa are for you then.
There are people who love this game. This game also has made the racing genre accessible to the people with disabilities.
The efforts made by this game about racing to be accessible to every type of audience deserve respect.
Criticize it but don't disrespect it.
For me all of the Project CARS franchise is ❤️.
I also play Forza Horizon 4, DIRT 2019, Project CARS 2, AssettoCorsa, F1 2020, GTA V (though it's not a racing game, but cars are good here too).
Peace. Later. 😇
One big problem i had was the bonkers difficulty settings!
I wanted to do every race as fast as possible, so i ran the difficulty into the ground, and even though i can now put a lap between me and second place in every race, the game doesn't adjust the difficulty of non-race goals!
A good game would have different time goals for every difficulty, where a 1st place lap to beat might be 1.58 on normal, but 2.00 on easy and 2.04 on very easy. It would also adjust the amount of points you need in brek races... It's like Dark Souls having a difficulty slider, but only for normal enemies! The bosses remain the same no matter the difficulty!
Codemasters continues its habbit of TONING DOWN franchises. First GRID now PC.
They had no input at all in this, it was all SMS. Besides they wouldn't encourage SMS to make a direct competitor to GRID.
Codemasters just bought the studio. This is SMS's doing.
"doesn't feel that bad on the wheel"
*proceeds to understeer off track*
This game feels like a nfs shift 2 remaster
Fair enough if PC wanted to become arcade/casual, but it's not even in the fun factor.. It is boring to drive, and clunky because not sim. No crazy ramps, cop chases, drifting, nothing. It just feels butt in general.
Game absolutely screams Need For Speed Shift 3 to me. XP at the top, "Perfect Corners" (handily marked with the same icon on the map as Shift), The camera movement etc.
For me, the fact that SMS tried to market this as a hardcore sim is what really turns me off to it. Project cars could have had a spin-off much like Forza with Horizon. In the Project cars 3 marketing, I saw them getting rid of sim elements while saying it’s still a sim. If they wanted to make a more arcade experience, that’s fine. But don’t sell me a crab legs and give me imitation crab meat
God damn this is a good ass review. I need a cigarette after that one.
This PS3 game looks dope. Can’t wait to play it on iPadOS.
They gave me something I asked for but wasn't expecting. I wanted a VR casual game for those with a life that come by and want to race in VR without nerding out over virtual details. I was able to get over the fact it wasn't a sim quickly because I enjoy the sims I have.
This game isn’t that good in flat screen. But in VR, it’s amazing. They really did a good job capturing the sense of speed, which most of sim games fail to convey. I turned all aids off, music, car related sounds on max, and just do custom events. Graphics color/lighting can be improved by using reshade. It’s actually more fun than project cars 2 in VR. Try the LMP cars @Nurburgring in the rain in VR and tell me it isn’t awesome.
Honestly, its not a bad game, it was just marketed wrong. Ill forever see it as nfs shift 3. Obviously not a sim racer, its somewhat of a simcade but i still like the game.
Gotta disagree with you on the handling aspect mate. This feels much better than FM7 at least and its miles away from PGR.
Really the physics to me feel like PC2 but with more forgiving tires. Everything else is probably just as good.
The FFB out of the box is the best it's ever been in a PCars game as well. PC2 always felt like the quality of the FFB feel was related to the car but on here just about everything I tried drove great
I haven't played GTS but if it's physics are similar to GT6 I'd say this is better than that as well. Disregarding the lack of tyre wear and fuel usage it really does drive pretty damn good.
Can’t believe this game is still selling at full price
What I noticed most were the tyres on the single-seaters. It looks like the cars are floating over the track. On F1 2020, they at least look as though they're attached to the ground.
Good review Steve, I wish it was more directed towards a Sim racing audience given that it's a sequel, but that aside I have no issue with a decent arcade racer with some sim elements. I agree their marketing really shit the bed with this one, hopefully it goes on sale soon as I wouldn't mind something a bit more laid back to my usual ACC and GTS sessions.
