Hi captain. Just a question. Why did you land with selected speed? Is it better for circling/visual approaches not to use managed speed and GS MINI? Beautiful video, as always.
Thanks for watching, With managed speed, the approach speed target changes all the time when the wind changes in speed and direction. Sometimes I do not want that and add some knots instead and fly with selected speed. Usually, I fly the approaches with managed speed.
Thanks for watching and the nice feedback! I would love to upload every flight. But the videos take a lot of postproduction work. One video a week is already very time consuming. Have a nice day!
Absolut cooler Approach, morgen versuch ich´s mit der D-AEWS im Sim nachzufliegen. Ab morgen früh also DUS-ZRH-DUS-FNC-DUS, Flugpläne sind schon fertig, mal schauen, was das gibt 🤓 Liebe Grüße!
Great video, approach and landing - as usual! I have a requestion regarding GEL01 and ROSRO - are those pilot waypoints or points provided by the airline? Also regarding the apparent arc from the beginning of the Base Turn to Gelo - how did you enter those?
Thanks for watching and your good feedback! The points and the turn are part of an overlay approach. This approach includes the instrument procedure and the visual part. If you watch the full 39-minute approach video, you will also see the special chart for this approach. ruclips.net/video/XjD0CWRkr9E/видео.html
It depends. The threshold is displaced. After the displaced threshold, the runway length is 2481 meters or 8140 feet. From the real beginning of the pavement it would be 2631meters or 10677 feet. 10677 feet is the accelerate stop distance available for the takeoff calculation.
Can't go wrong, close to the hill; you need good visibility, competence (it seems to me with special qualification) and experience, I believe. Is your F/O able to do it too?. Congratulations to both. Ciao e , good night.
Thanks for watching and your thoughts! The Portugiese authorities regulate flying to Funchal. Landing and Takeoff has to be done by the Captain and in general, flying to Funchal requires a certain experience, special training in the simulator and the airplane for the Captain and regular flights in the plane or simulator to the airport.
Funchal has no ILS. We usually fly a visual approach and use as reference the RNP/RNAV approach or VOR approach with a published visual part after the missed approach point. We also have the possibility to use a CFO approach. This stand for company FMS overlay. This approach combines the instrument approach together with the visual part into one RNAV approach with flight director guidance until touch down.
Very good question. I prefer an aft CG. Reason is that the plane needs less fuel for the same speed and it is easier to make nice and smooth landings in comparison with forward CG landings.
All the professional pilots I know do a great job. I believe that the comment was meant more like that the viewer liked the video because it gives insights into the pilot job.
It's really nice to see airplane pilots do their job. May God always bless your work, and a big hug from Brazil.
Thanks for watching and your friendly words. All my best wishes to Brazil!
Beautiful landing
Thanks a lot!
Absolutely one of your best team!
Thanks!
Difficult approach and you absolutely buttered it!
Thanks!
Excellent work
Many thanks for your friendly words!
Smooth landing! Always amazing views from the top
Thanks for the great feedback!
Absolutely amazing! Great landing in my home town. Wish you all the best capt.
Thanks a lot for watching and the nice feedback! Many greetings to Funchal! Have a good day!
Bernardo, do you know Cristiano Ronaldo?
@@g_pazzini well, of course, who doesn't?
Amazing. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Great landing...You make it look so easy💪💪💪
Thanks for watching! Have a great day!
Wow, that was a hard landing! There's no way someone can do it better than you. Just an amazing approach!
Thank you for the video :)
Thanks for watching! No, no, the landing was very smooth! Far away from hard or so. Vertical speed was at about zero at touchdown.
I think they meant hard to execute
@@drift13 Exactly :) The landing was very smooth but hard to do it :)
Again another nice landing captain❤️🔥🔥🔥🧑🏻✈️🧑🏻✈️🧑🏻✈️🧑🏻✈️🧑🏻✈️🫂🛩🛩🛩🛩 salute captain
Thanks for the friendly words!
Sehr schön!
Danke!
Wonderful 👍👍
Thanks!

Sehr schöne Landung
Danke!
Nice, how long is the Rwy? I am asking because Flight Radar says 8140 and Wikipedia 9124 feet

No ils or RNP , is that an entirely raw data approach ?

Which type of CG you prefer, forward or aft or the one right on 25%? And why?
Very good question. I prefer an aft CG. Reason is that the plane needs less fuel for the same speed and it is easier to make nice and smooth landings in comparison with forward CG landings.

Thanks! Have a nice day!
Someone wrote “ it’s nice to see pilots do their job”, dude what is that supposed to mean? They have too, cuz we will be dead otherwise.😂😂😂
