- Part 1. Owning a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster has always been a dream of mine.
However, for me it had to be a manual car. As there were only 17 manual Lamborghini LP640 Roadsters built, they were way out of my price range.
But thanks to finding SB Race Engineering, I found out that it was possible to do a manual conversion on an E gear car.
Which is better? Rebuild an older manual coupe Murcielago as Mat Armstrong did? Or convert a low mileage LP640 E gear?
Will I be able to get all original Lamborghini parts?
Should I be doing this to a perfectly good car?
Would Harry Metcalf and Mat Armstrong approve?!

Yes apologies. SB have been busy. But it’s nearly there. Going this week for first start up/ move around the workshop.
Has SB or you thought about 3d Scanning certain parts that are harder to obtain for future conversions of other cars?

I have a pre-LP E-Gear Murcielago in which I plan to convert to a manual as well…still gathering parts for the conversion (I have about 65% of the parts for it); but looking forward to that day when I can get started.
There’s been a few conversations on some of the Lamborghini forums about whether or not this conversion could be done (successfully); I for one will be excited to hear that yours is completed. Best of luck!!!
I visited SB yesterday. They are very close. They need to sort out the remapp software for a manual engine, do a. It more plumbing in after the engine’s gone back in, & sort out & weld on thr hardtop latches while the ECU’s are disconnected (another story). I can’t wait to do the next video! Sorry, no. That’s a list carefully researched and guarded by SBR
SB have been more interested in getting the parts from Lamborghini up to now, but I think I’ve got in just in time, because Lamborghini have started sticking zeros on the prices.
When you remarked about heavy gearboxes l recall my late boss letting me drive his Aston Martin DB7 manual . It was awful ! To ge fair it wasn't just the gearbox it was the whole car. They should have left the Jaguar V12 in . I drove a manual XJS V12 and it didn't work either . Thank you .

I can’t remember if we’re reprogramming or replacing the ecu. I’ll check with SB
