- One of our clients asked if we could convert their stunning, Lamborghini Gallardo LP570 Performante from E-gear to a manual transmission.

Tremendous. A very daunting task for the majority of us old'salts in the trade! But like many things if you're doing these jobs day in day out it becomes second nature! Great video.

Top video brilliant the way you work mate I thought rebuilding my 2.0 tfsi engine and doing ko4 conversion was good lol but the cars and engines you are dealing with speaks for itself 👍

Ricky, another awesome video. The speed, knowledge and info, are second to none. Manual supercars are so needed in this day & age, i think. I just wish you'd been told earlier, that the 'Mr Majeika' hair style never took off lol.

I have a 2011 LP560 with 7k miles. What motul do you suggest? 300V seems overkill.. I put 1k miles a year.. just around town.. no track. Yearly oilchange.
I heard a million different opinions.. want to hear what you, the v10 master says!

Dude epic video, the days of me doing this have passed but surely if you’re going into that much effort too convert to manual wouldn’t you strip the gear cluster and check synchro’s etc? Look forward to next episode 👍🏻😄
Yeah we do that, I’ve also got all new bearings etc to go in. Just a bit boring for YT to show me looking at stuff! Lol

I was engineer for Audi UK so done R8’s for 15 years now, so the training etc came from that.

@@alextop1850 no point, loads of great exhausts for the R8 already. Gintani is just a straight pipe system.

I read in the comments of another Gallardo manual swap video the switch is a bit more involved for LP models because of some more internal part changes. Looks true to me from watching around the 10:00 mark. What’s your opinion?

How much does the Manual Gearbox weigh Vs the Automatic (Auto single clutch) as although the Casing is the same the internals and hydraulics/ Actuators must weigh quite a bit compared to the manual option????????? Would love to know as know one seems to be able to offer an answer???? Thanks
Looks fairly straightforward swapping the diff for an lsd 👍🏻
Can’t do it in place but yeah easy enough. Not enough room between frame rails to drop out in situ.
@@REPerformanceUK I'm coming from FWD, which is a full gearbox strip just to reset the preload 😁
I appreciate its a box out job, but for some reason I thought it would need the box stripping to swap it.

@@pinderwagen ah yeah I suppose so! No I’m that case mate it’s 14 bolts. Hardest bit would be shimming it!

Before that, wow. Love your enthusiasm and motivation. Massive respect for that. There’s no way I would ever be capable of that.
But..
Why? What’s the benefits?
How many hours labour would that have been?
How do you remember where every bolt goes? 😂
How many times could you do this conversion before you think fuck, I can’t do another one 😂 😂

Enlightening. I thought all that was needed was swapping the manual shift linkage for the hydraulic parts. Didn’t know the box had to be taken apart and internal parts swapped also. I wonder how many people bought an E box thinking they could easily convert it to manual.
Yeh it’s a big job to swap!
How much for the conversion
Would be interested to know the cost to do manual conversion all in. I have a LP570-4 Superleggera here in the UK. Having a manual one of those would most likely make it 1 of 1.

Does anyone know of a reputable shop in the US who does this & the price? I have the same car and am curious to know?
Don't oil your filters? I use an MWR race filter on my R6 race bike...it came oiled. I thought standard service on them was clean and light oiling.

The part number on your shifter box is for the pre-LP car, are they interchangeable?
Do you mean the shifter on top of the gearbox or the selector inside the car?
@@REPerformanceUK the shifter box inside the car, not the shift fork selector on the transmission
Used to service wind turbine gearboxes and they stink so the hole workshop stinks. Hated it and the oil is very dangerous as in cancer to the skin so much so we would double glove like in a operating room in a hospital so if one glove failed we had some more protection.

Far be it for me to critic but you have gone this far and with oil that tired and burnt out looking (judging by the dark deposits on the internals) I would of removed the gears from both those shafts to check for wear of the surfaces be it plain or cage/needle design gears and thrusts etc .... just saying , you guys certainly do get involved (',') another good video however REPerformance
He already replied in other comments that he did inspect off camera.
We fully stripped the shafts and cleaned everything thoroughly for inspection and rebuild….just not much to show on the video with all the stuff in a wash tank!

Gear oil is so gross. I can smell it through the screen. All the technology these days and gearbox oil still stinks! Nice informative video though
People are really missing out on all the stuff and info your giving up. I mean ur not going into every detail but if u have an idea of what your doing already these videos would help that person alot. This is definitely a hidden gem on RUclips although Ricky u would rather it be a huge channel with a mil plus subs lol I don't blame u
