I came late to Critical Role, as in 3/4 through campaign 2 levels of late. So when I looked back at campaign 1 I found that I liked Keyleth the most with No Mercy Percy as the runner up, and it surprised me to hear that she was initially disliked by a larger portion of fans.
Hey, why does Keyleth not use Wildshape in combat often and, when she does, never seem to turn into anything stronger than a saber-toothed tiger? She's a Circle of the Moon Druid. By the time they have to fight the Briarwoods, I'll bet that she's high enough level to turn into a CR 3 beast, or better yet, maybe even an elemental. So why doesn't she?
Part of its aesthetic choice; giant scorpion, elephant, dinosaurs just aren't her style (plus Scanlans triceratops was a bit of a gimmick, there aren't dinos just running around this fantasy world so how would they know to turn into them). Minxie was her go-to shape for most fights up to this point, and don't forget elementals take up both uses of Wildshape. I think in this version gaining elemental forms will be part of her Aramente, which she apparently hasn't completed any of the trials yet (she'd don't both earth and fire at this point originally, so hopefully we'll get them soon and have her use those abilities)
@@hhylobates4098 Oh, got it. I just thought that a boss fight like the Briarwoods would probably merit an angry fire/water/earth/air elemental running around holding concentration on a powerful spell.
@@everlastingdragon4520 While they do have to change/add in quite a bit to make a 3 round fight last a whole episode, some things are kept the same when it makes sense. Keyleth focusing on Sunbeam was mechanically the best tactical option, so that's literally all she did for those 3 rounds. When fighting a vampire, Sunbeam /was/ the most powerful spell they had. I'm sure we'll see more variety of spells in the coming season againt a completely different kind of enemy.
It's a narrative reason. That's my theory at least. In the campaign at the point of the Briarwood and the Chroma Conclave arc she was using wildshape to transform into powerful elementals often enough. No reason not to, they were playing a game and Keyleth actually has visited the Earth Ashari pre-stream, so she was somewhat already making progress in her quest. LoVM Kiki seems to be way earlier in her path than C1 Kiki. She has all this amazing power that she can't tap into at will because her self-doubt and fear sabotage her. In the game there was no such thing like "You have a moment of self-doubt, so your attempt at the daylight spell fizzles out, try again next round while the wraiths are having their way with your friends". But this is a show where characterization, character growth and dramatic pacing takes priority to game mechanical can-do. From your comment I gather that you don't know the campaign, so to say it vaguely I'm willing to bet Kiki will wildshape into an elemental next season for story reason. (inb4 she doesnt, I'll be sad :( elemental kiki is iconic)
@@hhylobates4098 She actually does have Earth and Fire at this point. She starts off as an Air, already having those abilities. Earth was gained pre-stream in the events right before C1 began, Fire was gained during the Vassalheim arc right after the Slayer's Take episodes and before the Briarwood arc began, and Water was the last one she gained after the Chroma Conclave arc.
I think that was the point of the whole scene. Keyleth isn't really too confident in herself to start with and it was a good idea to show the progression of her power without just dropping that second scene where she whips out daylight and newfound confidence. It was a good stepping stone for her character.
@@shnoot8380 nah it's not that she failed it's that she just instantly gave up. I didn't even expect her to do it. it would've been nice if she had two really weak attempts before giving up. the scene just seemed kinda weak and I didnt really like the execution

07:20 Vines - Thorn Whip/Entangle
07:35 Minor ice, fire, wind, vines, stone attacks/blocks (not actual spells)(07:43 is Entangle)
08:27 Sunbeam
09:40 Vines - Entangle
10:02 Transport Via Plants
*A note on all "vines": lots of creative uses that dont really line up with the handful of actual spells. At this stage in the story Keyleth had thorn whip, entangle and grasping vine. Wall of thorns is a higher level spell she did not yet have, that giant bridge could be a horizontal wall of thorns but looks way beyond what she would be allowed in the limits of a game. Theoretically you could be allowed the creative license to say "I'm using the Wall of Stone spell but re-skinning it as using vines." Or similarly using the Entangle spell but reskinning it as ice like catching Vax's foot at the end there.
I really want to play D&D becuz of this
That's my Voice of the Tempest

we don't know her lol
Keyleth is awesome!
I came late to Critical Role, as in 3/4 through campaign 2 levels of late. So when I looked back at campaign 1 I found that I liked Keyleth the most with No Mercy Percy as the runner up, and it surprised me to hear that she was initially disliked by a larger portion of fans.

Wtf she's basically a God in this series
High level druids are basically demigods
Shush. Don't give her a god complex or she'll throw herself off a thousand foot cliff expecting to survive in goldfish form in her hubris!
Your daily reminder not to fuck with your druid.
So... the girl literally IS Mother Nature.
Keyleth more like Sersi in Eternal but she can teleport and transformation.
I kind of want to see keyleth turns into a darkelf that one point when she finally snaps
Favorite character ❤️
Hail to the Tempest damn
Omg i love her 😍
Just your tipical druid.
You forgot to put in the scene where she moved the clouds to form the De Rollo symbol
Keyleth can harness the Elements🔥🌬🌊🪨 Shapeshift , communicate with Nature & Animals, and more! She's a fuck**in power house!
the only thing I didnt like was the first sunlight scene. I just feel like she gave up so easily and like she didnt even try. it feels rushed af
@@the_spotted_quacker oh yeah i see where you're coming from
She’s so freaking cute!
Can you do Carmen Sandigo the one 💃on Netflix
Keyleth reminds me of Triss Merigold
Keyleth will definitely protect her man 💀💀💀
8 minutes in and I realised she’s the next avatar 😂
Better than Korra, that’s for sure.
Her entire backstory and quest is actually based on Avatar, so that’s a good observation
Wait✋Why do I ship Vax and Keyleth so damn much 💚🖤❤️,I mean come on, their moments and chemistry of some sort is fucking obvious and hr definitely cares and likes her but just doesn't know how to show🤦♀️😅 plus the dude even calls her "KeKe" ❤️❤️
*Fun Fact: She is obviously the most Op person in the group, with more self confidence and a little more extra boost, all I ask is just for Season 2👍 and if their is we all will be there supporting our Nature Elf and her new Crush 😘😘
*And again she is fucking Amazing and Incredible ❤️❤️
The amount of emojis is astronomical
I'm not a D&D player
But maaan i can see the DICE ROLLS
Question
What is considered an infamous D20 in this clip or the entire show?

why always the most powerful character are the sweetes ones 🤣🤣🤣

Excelente excelente 👍🇻🇪
You missed at least one.
She’s like the avatar in the show 😂
She's literally skye in multiverse
OP
I was searching up the name of the show and forgot what it was so I typed “The legend of the vox vagina” 💀
So is it possible for her to control arcane magic like Delilah (but less necromancy) or is she only able to project elemental magic
She's a druid so all she does is Divine, but mechanically it's possible
@@mikhailthegreatestdragon3627 thank you, I was just wondering since she basically is a half elf

Is this the same animation studio as Legend of Korra?
In fact, is that Korra's voice actress?
Nope and nope
They did animate the opening titles sequence for Avatar: The Last Airbender, though!
Just a Druid Druid-ing.
Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.
