As someone who has never shipped anythin before in my life and totally clueless on the method, this is definitely the vid for dummies. Excellent and clear instructions, thx a lot!
@InnominateKraken When you choose print label at the post office, will a QR code bar code be sent to your to phone or email address to print at the post office? I ask because I don't have a printer.
do you think it's worth selling online if you live far from a post office? i live 20 minutes from the nearest one. double that for the drive back. i wouldn't want to be in deficit because of gas money.
I’m a letter carrier and I would definitely recommend putting tape over the bar code. Doesn’t effect the ability to scan and gives it extra protection if it rains
@@cyperknight9182 if it’s clear packaging tape there will be no problem. I am a letter carrier I can promise you that. If the barcode gets affected in any way, the tracking code will still be legible
The information you provided in this video not only saved me time. It also alleviated the migraine that was forming behind my retina due to my unsuccessful efforts in figuring out this simple problem! In Other Words: *U da GOAT* ✊🏾
Very helpful video. I'm going to start selling some collectibles online, and the shipping part of that completely baffled me. After watching this video, and doing other research, it seems less of a hassle than I thought. I especially appreciate the part of your video about taping the label to the package. I had wondered what was the best way to do that.
Nice to know shipping label stickers aren't needed to print shipping labels. Also that I can have them printed at the post office. That's what I wanted to know. Thanks.
I tape over the entire label(clear packaging tape) to protect it from moisture and tearing and have never had a problem with it being scanned at the post office
This was helpful. I don't have a business but sometimes want to ship things. Having to lug certain items to a post office and stand in long lines makes me just give stuff away instead.
This was very helpful! have been nervous to even try and send something but this will be my first time and this was very clear will update on how it goes Edit: was able to send out just fine! tracking and updates can all be found on the usps site when you make an account so that was great it was really helpful ty ❤️
Absolutely great video. I don't send very many packages. Obviously I know you go to the post office and speak to someone there and get it all handled but doing it online is much smoother. You definitely got a subscription for me Great job!
thank you so much, this actually answered my questions about shipping, most explanations are very complicated and don't answer my very basic entree level questions.
I greatly appreciate this video I'm a first time business owner and i was ok with the labels until I had to ship in the same town I was living in it gave me a hard time but your video made it easy and a success I'm very thankful to have come across your video thank you once again you have made my business a lot more easier for me
Oh thank you! I was looking an instructional video on youtube showing how to ship orders. I'm getting ready to sell my old psp games along with other things to a retro game company for money. I really need to do this because I don't know how and I need to learn. Thank you so much :)
A few other things... first, always print the labels at 100% size, which should take half a piece of paper. Shrinking or enlarging the label can mess up the bar code as it could alter the proportional width of the lines/gaps in the bar code, making it unreadable. Second, try to put the label on one of the largest flat sides of the box. The best scanner is always the one above the belt as mail passes beneath it, followed by the on underneath. Avoid using the smaller sides and ends of the box. Finally, if the box side is two flaps, avoid putting the label across both flaps. Boxes sometimes flex as they move through the system and that seam between the flaps is a weak point. If it starts shifting it can mess up the bar codes or even the address. If the side is too small, put the label on so that the address and bar code do not go over that seam.
Thank you so much for the video I went to do a few ties but was unsure of how it would end up if I continued so I stop now I can finish and send my package because I can see the how process and know that I’ll be able to do it Due to health I can’t just go out to the post office and this is a life saver Thanks so much
Glad it helped! Also got some clarification in the comments from post office workers that it's actually okay to cover the bar code now to protect it from the elements and such.
Thanks for this very step by step instruction guide to how to ship from home . I've been doing alot of thinking of starting a small business at home like sailing things on ebay but I was confused on how to ship items off after watching this great tutorial video of yours it really helped me understand the true process of mailing off packages to buyers online from the convenience of my own home ..thank you
So glad that our video can help you with your future endeavors! I know shipping can seem like a daunting task, but it's great to know we can help people get through it :)
I feel dumb coming on here to see how it’s done lol. I was getting annoyed trying to print the labels at the post office kiosk and it wouldn’t accept certain addresses or give options to enter certain addresses. And then dealing with the clerk every time who is stubborn and argues the address then causes the package to be delivered to the wrong spot. So thank you so much for this video lol. Now I can print my own labels and not deal with the clerk. (I love USPS and the other workers, just not this specific clerk or the kiosks)
There's no need to feel dumb! No one knows everything and we're all constantly learning so. I'm sorry you were having problems with that specific clerk. It's happened plenty of times to me too, but there are so many more truly nice and terrific clerks and postal workers. But we're glad we could help you out and you can continue to ship things with USPS :)
Couldn't have asked for a better video. Thank you. Question though: what if im mailing an envelope with say stickers or a bookmark . Would i do the same process . Like dould i need to weigh it to find out how many stamps it would need or can i buy a label and have customer pay exact shipping? Sorry, probably a dumb question but I'm clueless.
Thank you for this. I’ve started a small business and don’t have time to wait at the post office. Quick question, do I have to also hand write another sticky label? Or is the one you print the only thing you need?

Hi! I need to send additional stamps worth of $2 to a very bureaucratic organization, so that they'd add them to an already existing prepaid envelop I gave them in the past. Is there any way to do it completely online, so that I'd create a printable label that they could print on their regular printer and glue on existing prepaid envelop? Thanks in advance!
Good video, thanks. I inherited an old metal lunchbox collection (like a LOT of them) that I will be selling on Ebay. Until I get the hang of this I'm just going to sell single items. I absolutely want to use Priority mail. Can I get a number of boxes first from the post office and just have them on hand? The boxes are "free" until you use them? If I do just keep boxes on hand can I still use either option later: ie: Choose between flat rate or weight/distance? Thanks!
Thank you!! Glad it helps :) And to answer your question, I'm not quite sure. I've tried creating a label for my own padded envelope, but since it weighed less than 13 oz it was considered First Class mail -which is a service you can't buy the postage online for with Click-N-Ship.
eBay has discounts for postage, so it may cost a little less than what you see on the USPS website. When you do sell that item we do have a walk through on setting up your package for shipping: ruclips.net/video/8wGPexAfCps/видео.html
Thank you!!! This is the best video i've watched. However, I have a couple questions 1) Can you drop it off at the post office mailbox? 2) Do you have to pay for the printed label online or do you pay at the post office? Thank you in advance
Thank you, glad it helps :) To answer your questions: 1). Some post offices have a drop off area for packages. Like for example, mine has an open cash register window where we can place them inside. If you don't see it, you can always ask the cashier where you can drop off prepaid packages. Also you can't put them in those big blue mailboxes. 2). You have to pay for the printed label online. Once you enter and confirm all of your info and the package's info, you'll be prompted for a payment method. Once that goes through, you'll be able to access the label to print.
how i don’t have a printer or a way to get to the post office.. i’ll be scheduling them to pick it up at my house. is it ok if i just write on a usps address label the information?? or even just ok the packaging? how will i pay if it’s like that with no shilling label?
