I really need to play my curses deck again in a full pod to see if it can compete against 3 opponent's.

Always fun to shake things up every now and again with Archenemy, Planechase, Kingdom magic (better in bigger pods), theme nights, etc.
    What's your favorite variation?

Have you heard of the variation called Emperor? When I was a young magic player I thought it was really cool but it really only works for lower power battle cruiser decks. Combo decks with alternate win cons don't work well in Emperor. I think Now probably planechase or 2 headed giant would be my favorite variants. Do you have a favorite?

@highpoweredhobby yeah, we learned real quick we needed to adopt a house rule where the emperor's planeswalkers could be attacked by anybody after the superfriends player running Sliver Queen was the opposing Emperor.
Wizards made a board game that was essentially a planeschase variant called "Explorers of Ixalan" that I quite enjoy busting out every now and again.

I remember seeing that. I've never played it, thought.
A really nerdy story. I remember in high school, my buddies and I made a fake world map and played a risk game, but instead of rolling dice for combat, we played magic games. The defending player picked the deck they wanted to play, and then the attacking player picked their deck. Then, the defending player drew the top 3 planes from a planechase deck and picked one that would remain for the whole game. It was super fun but took forever. We would play in rounds, each deciding which territory we were going to attack that round and then played all the games at the same time. Sometimes, someone would be playing 2 or 3 magic games at the same time if they got attacked by multiple people. It was really awesome. Nerdy at a whole other level.
