I love die hard players who are faithful, even devoted, to their favourite deck, and master it no matters what is on the top at the moment. Even if that deck is ~0,02% of current meta... only because this one guy always pilots them. Ive never been a Jund fan, but have always respected it as fuck, so as Duke plaing it. :)
I haven't been following the modern meta too closely lately but my impression is that psychic frog is fairly prominent, if that's the case im not sure the 1- push 4 bolt removal suite is ideal. game 1 bolt felt awful
Oh hi. For choosing land to lock against Tron : never lock the tower. - You gave them a colored mana by choosing it, as the tower was untapped - If they use their land to get rid of moon and have access to the tower untapped after they used other land to correct the situation, they get access to 3 mana, instead of just two if you locked another land
As a long time mostly legacy player, I saw the double bolt on the murktide and was like "oh no this isn't going to end well". I have been killed more than a couple times by wonky frog and dragon math. But like. You also just have to go for that.
I think is a mistake siding out shadowspear vs murktide. I've played lots of matches like that since my local meta is full of decks like that and I found that a common scenario is a "murktide vs goyf", and lifelink is often so relevant to win the match
I could be wrong, but wouldn't Galvanic Discharge be a solid removal option? The occasional extra energy from Raptor would allow for killing bigger things
I'd wager that Unholy Heat would in general be superior to Galvanic Discharge. I'm personally on a 3-3 split between Push and Heat for my 1-mana removal in my Jund Saga deck.
I like who continue to play his 'pet deck' regardless of meta and win rate. I currently play Vizier Druid with saga and I like the surprise effect it has on opponents. Long life Jund 💪
last matchup siding out the shadowspear was probably a bad call, all that land destruction could have hit if you removed their hexproof/indestructible with the active effect that everyone forgets.
I wonder if it might be too much work to get amped raptor and jegantha in the list. It puts a really tight restriction on card quality that may not be worth it yet even with the power creep.
Getting the impression that red is bad in a frog-Murktide meta, at least in terms of removal. But testing things out is fun and it's always a joy to see Reid on Jund.
Is there a reason you didn't spellbomb before the second card hit their yard @10:00? I know they could have gone more cards in response but it would have taken their whole hand and then their whole GY to save the Murktide.
Immediately I know Reid is trying to meme because Lightning Bolt is not better than Fatal Push with PsyFrog. I begrudgingly haven't been playing Bolt but you have to be able to kill a lot of these new threats that can outgrow 3 damage.
Definitely wrong deck configuration, consisting too much bolt and so little fatal push, thats y always loses to psychic frog. Also too little answer to murktide, sideboard need more pick a poison
I don't really like where Jund is going right now... I feel like Liliana of the Veil would have gotten Reid out of scary situations, while applying pressure on the board. Wreen and Six still does nothing except buying back useless lands (only Boseiju worth picking). I am a "Boomer Jund" player, so my point of view is obviously biaised. I would really like to see Reid playing a new version of Boomer Jund... Bring back Liliana of the Veil, Liliana the Last Hope, Dark Confidant, Kolaghan's Command... And I think Scavenging Ooze would be a very interesting card in the current metagame, being able to control the graveyards at any time. Playing Bloodbraid Elf wouldn't quite fit the new fast metagame, but surely there is something to be done.
Duke, Modern, Jund, the world is right again!
Proceeds to go 1-4 💀
Nature is healing!
The one of Boil in the sideboard is about the most Reid Duke it gets.
Without Liliana, it's still not Reid.
I dont always watch channel fireball videos anymore. But when I see the Duke+Jund, I must
Religiously will watch Reid Duke.

The thumbnail makes it look like this deck is forcing Reid to play it at gunpoint
3:24 Reid, my man, sorry to break the news to you but you are the omnipotent jund master.
Oh hi.

I needed this is my life today. Thank you Mr. Duke for junding around as always!
I think is a mistake siding out shadowspear vs murktide. I've played lots of matches like that since my local meta is full of decks like that and I found that a common scenario is a "murktide vs goyf", and lifelink is often so relevant to win the match
Came here to comment this. Shadowspear can really swing the Murk vs. Goyf lategame beatdowns in the Jund player's favor.
I could be wrong, but wouldn't Galvanic Discharge be a solid removal option? The occasional extra energy from Raptor would allow for killing bigger things

THIS IS THE CONTENT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR
At 1:49:40 it would have been cool to keep the Shadowspear in since it lets you Boseiju the Lotus Field
as well as The One Ring actually
Removals for current meta perhaps using Long Good Bye and Sudden Edict would be good.
I like who continue to play his 'pet deck' regardless of meta and win rate. I currently play Vizier Druid with saga and I like the surprise effect it has on opponents.
Long life Jund 💪
Nethergoyf, Wight of the reliquary maybe considerations.
He did run Nethergoyf
finally! I have been missing Reid playing Jund
Love the commitment to loving jund, but grixix betta. :p
Grixis is the new jund frog is just a better goyf
3:26 "if there was a Jund master, they would probably have a SB that is close to 15 one-ofs"
Reid
On
Jund
Happy Saturday everyone.
You play Boil. One proof more that you are a awesome guy. I love you.
is there any merit to keep shadowspear vs the lotus field deck so you can boseiju their field?
last matchup siding out the shadowspear was probably a bad call, all that land destruction could have hit if you removed their hexproof/indestructible with the active effect that everyone forgets.
more reid modern please. so fun to watch
serious question. why plague engineer?
Bowmasters and “Tribal” strategies
Any deck that has a lot of X/1’s
@@taylorbruning7287good against energy especially
is the tarfire just to have an extra type for the 'goyfs?
Yes

I wonder if there is any way to add Psychic Frog to the deck? 4 colors is probably stretching the manabase too far
Scrappy, low-down version of Jund. Gotta love it.
Wouldn't this deck really benefit from the one ring for sustain?
Is there a reason you didn't spellbomb before the second card hit their yard @10:00? I know they could have gone more cards in response but it would have taken their whole hand and then their whole GY to save the Murktide.

Its not better?
I agree, unholy Heat is already sketchy
I wonder if a more Planeswalkery Removal/Discard “Control” heavy list would be best
Definitely wrong deck configuration, consisting too much bolt and so little fatal push, thats y always loses to psychic frog. Also too little answer to murktide, sideboard need more pick a poison
Jesus, yeah Jund does not seem to be in a good place right now.
Grixis/dimir is just better
Lightning bolt is bad vs the meta.
Dont keep tapping mana, you gotta be out of stuff eventually.
Ah yes, tron
Fastest click of my life.

Finally some good news!
When can we see jund in legacy 😌
Isnt Lightning Bolt just really bad with Frog everywhere?
Isn't Lurrus a better companion ? Everything costs 2 or less ? Might be a stupid question. I don't play Modern at all and haven't for like 6 years.
Lurrus is banned in modern, otherwise you'd be absolutely right
@@TheRavenKing1347 Aha! I wasn't aware of that. Thank you
First. Thank you for all your work!
Just watched "the strange history of jund
Not even Deathrite Shaman can save Jund nowadays 😭
If Reid can't go at least 3-2 with Jund in Modern, that format is no longer for me.
Don’t even play magic no more, but it is still impossible to turn down Reid duke playing Jund
Finally!
Boil is cool
I wish they would have thrown Wasteland into MH3.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Man just that first game just goes to show that jund does seems so meh compared to what other decks are doing
Hopefully next time we can get a bit more into the 21st century
Bulldozer frog
timestamps would be appreciated
!
That looks like a deck that could really use Lurrus
Lurrus is pretty decent
