Thanks pal. For this one I was using a fuji xt4 with some adapted canon FD lenses. So the BROLL was shot on a Canon FD SSC 55mm F1.2 (gorgeous) and the main footage i think was the 24mm f2.8. Mostly using the 16-55 f2.8 fuji lens at moment when want to just use the auto focus! Thanks for watching. :)

Hi Simon I love your videos, they are so helpful. Can you tell me what mirrorless camera you use to shoot your video? Any suggestions on buying my first camera for RUclips videos?
Thanks! Yeah I use a Fuji xt4 with their 16-55 f2.8 premium lens. I also have a set of adapted manual focus canon fd Ssc vintage lenses I use for BROLL that have great filmic character. Fuji is a great camera if you like photography too and messing with settings manually (can’t beat the colours!) - but I would say Sony are a great bet for reliable auto focus for regular self filming. APSC sensors are a good middle ground to start with if you don’t want to pay tons on full frame lens and bodies. Good luck!
Bear notes app. And Darkroom photo editor. Two apps that in my opinion deserve to be on any iPad app list. Would love to hear your thoughts on these. Thanks.
This has just made me want to upgrade my ipad! And very excited to try these new apps out to help my Artwork and photography page! Really good explanation of everything!
Thanks for sharing these wonderful tips. I use Notion on my iPad but find that the font size when using the app is rather small for viewing. How do you increase the font size ?
SUBSCRIBED from Japan! Cheers for all the Info. I edit all my videos on iPad and just started shooting using only my iPhone. Really impressed with how it all works. I'm still in the process of trying to create Subtitles using Lumafusion, so if you got any tips on that would be AMAZING!
I use a fuji Xt4 with various lenses - mostly 16-55 2.8 from fuji, but also a set of adapted manual focus adapted canon FD ssc vintage lenses (55mm 1.2 is my favourite). Rode mics, neewer LED bi colour lights and soft boxes - but need to upgrade now! Cheers
Yeah, a shame: it’s quite old video now - might be time for an update. :) Email me at hello@bettercreating.com with what’s on your mind if you like. Thanks
I personally love an app called Endless paper because you can very easily use it for brainstorming since it stretches endlessly in any direction and you can zoom in many times to write like a text inside of a text inside of a text and so on if you need that for some reason. You can also use it for really cool drawings where there is like a painting inside a painting.
I’ve purchased Mojo after your recommendation. I’m gradually getting rid of my much larger PC for this lightweight M1 iPad Air. I already had LumaFusion, and use the iPad exclusively now to make content for social media. One thing I can’t figure out how to do is export text graphics from Mojo with a transparent background. Is it just with chromakeys, or is there a way to remove the background?
@@BetterCreating Thank you! I was wondering how you did it. I’m subbed now and will get notified when you’re coming out with more content :) The Mojo hack is awesome, and can’t wait to see what else you’ve got coming (maybe DaVinci Resolve for iPad)!
Hi, Yeah Todoist is a great app - but yes - I now do all my task management in Notion using the GTD method - check out this video for how it works ruclips.net/video/PuG0sLiIL1o/видео.html - there's also one on how to build it for yourself. :)
I just want to add VN video editor to this list. It is free (has ads, but not a lot) and its quite feature packed (you can do most stuff you’d want out of a pro video editor, including some color grading, chroma key, speed modification, overlaying videos/photos, etc. And its FAST on an ipad pro. If you are not a pro-level video editor editor, you can get away with using it instead of Luma fusion (Luma is still the best option for ipad tho, but its pricey).
Hi Simon. Thanks for great content! Do you have or can you make a «step-by-step-how to» about handwriting on greenscreen in ProCreate importing to LumaFusion? I have written in GoodNotes5 on black canvas and importen to LumaFusion - but that is really not working as well as you did here 😂 All the best from Norway 😊
Just drop a bright green back ground on the procreate or GoodNotes page and write on top of it! Simple! Then you can use the chroma key function in Luma to key it out.
Thanks for the video, and the next what I will say is not about you, but just about overall situation with all the apps nowadays. Why its all frucking subscriptions now. 60$ for this, 50$ for that, 30$ for few other things (for a year subscription). I get it, money, but is it really a good strategy for long-term income for those companies? Why I can just buy a procreate, but I should pay 55$ a year for a calendar?
Totally agree! The subscription model was just introduced to a teleprompter app I use - started as a one off payment - I’ve used it happily for years and now they stopped access to the old model and want £4 a month… come one!
Thanks for making this. I noticed you did a screen shot in LumaFusion to pull into affinity. Have you used the snapshot feature that will take a photo out of your video? It’s under the share button.
Hi, I love your video👍🏻✨by the way, may I know which is better for making video by using adobe premiere rush or luma fusion ? And what’s the differences between these 2 app?😃
Afraid I’ve not used premiere rush - but pretty sure luma will be better as it’s iOS only so fully designer for it. It’s closer to final cut in user interface and has ability to link with Final Cut Pro (send a project to it). Cheers.
can you do a viewers audit by country and perhaps if it’s possible start, as a Englishman, start saying pounds instead of dollars. It’s virtually a deal breaker for me re subscription.
Hi Ray - since 25% of my Audience are in America, and probably another 15% use the dollar, with only 6% in the UK at the moment - try to be as inclusive as possible. :)
