I think you forgot to mention an important feature of Vizref, you can also import a .GIF and see it frame by frame for still references from animations! (I don't see any other app do that so I think it was important to just point it out) :D
Coolers cost money so I recommend an app called pigments wich is litterly the same. And it's free. EDIT:sorry everyone i dont think it on apple :( but im sure there are lots of other free ones you can find!:)
One thing I found to be a sorta helpful tip for color palettes is: head on down to the home depot paint dept, pick up the paint combination booklets ( I have all of them), scan them and use them as color pallettes. Sometimes I boost the saturation but for color combo visualizing, it's feels like window shopping versus struggling brain torture. ;-)
I wish I can download vizref for android, and plus I don't even have an iPad or iOS, and I don't even have the money to afford the apps I need to be an artists, they said I need to pay dollars but I am from a different country 😔😔😔
It's not an ipad app, but I use a VR program called gravity sketch to pose and light mannequins quickly, they can be life size and I can move around to make sure the pose looks natural. When you find the best angle you use the camera tool choose how wide angle and snap some shots like a real camera.
The ref organization... WHAT A LIFE SAVER OMG 😂 I never thought to use that at all. Thanks for this video, life just got easier. I'm still a new IPad and Apple user
There's this app called "Handy", is a reference tool with 3D models of skulls, hands, etc. Its a bit abandoned by the devs, but is still a very good tool.
that Manikin app looks pretty cool. downloading that. Pinterest has a pretty decent iPad app, if you are looking for inspiration. It has some issues: it is almost impossible to follow individual pinners, and it is chock full of ads. But it is great for just flipping through and tucking images into your personal boards
Beside the must have procreate, the go to one's are, ArtStation, magic poser, anatomy 3D, this lay one is medical reference but man oh man, being able to see skeleton and muscles in layers from any angle helps a ton.
I am a new artist and my parents are going to get me an iPad Pro for me to draw on so I need some of these apps thank you so much four making this video it is helped me and many other new or old artists
Vizref has honestly been a lifesaver and helps to keep my regular photo albums from being cluttered. Now I just hoard all my references and inspiration pics in the Vizref folders :')
I love Behance so much!! I always use them for inspo:) But pinterest is also a very great app for artists, there's just so many things in pinterest!!! I recommend pinterest for other artists🥰
I'm a bit late here but I have a few comments that might help people who see this later on. 1. If you already have an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription you can use Adobe Capture to make palettes and much more, textures, detect what a font is (and see if the Adobe library has it or something similar), patterns. And all of this is saved into the library you access on all devices. 2. I personally don't like Paperlike that much. It's better than nothing but I wish I remembered what screen protector I had on my previous iPad as it had more tooth and suited me better. Not to mention that the new Pencil doesn't suit me either I find the sensation is not as good as the first Pencil, I miss that spring in the tip that gave me more control. 3. I keep forgetting about it, but for more fantasy orientated illustrations, Hero Forge is actually pretty cool to reflect on poses for all sorts of creatures. Same as you say with the chair thing, I can draw all kinds of poses, but I will default to the same ones so this give me more ideas, and you can change the clothes and props too.
i use DAZ 3D for character planing on PC first, then i transfer file over from DAZ as "png" or "jpeg" over to ipad pro via email to myself from PC, open and save image to pics on ipad from email on ipad then move it into "Procreate". if your not the greatest figure drawing artist, this is the quickest way to learn while having fun as i have discovered. PS i know DAZ 3d isnt a ipad app, but its free!
Hi, if you don’t want to pay for cooler search „ create a color palette “ in the web and click the first outcome. The website is “ coolors “ and it’s like the app! You’re welcome 😇
wow cooler would really help with branding great tips! I'm starting out in art so this def help 🙂 Also for sketch ar I think it will be good for making your own mock up These are really really helpful oh lord
I was lucky enough to snag vizref and coolors for free during their promotional period, I use Morpholio trace and concepts fo conceptual sketches and instead of coloors you can use palette which can extract color palettes from an image, prettty useful app. Another great app is Canva for the people who are not famililar with vector drawings.
I found an app that had no downloads so was weary but it's pretty good for converting images like PNG to a video format including Gifs,MP4 and APNGs also maintains the transparency. It's called APNG Toaster. There's a Gif version but not sure it's needed if you get this. I mention this because a lot of animation apps output PNG sequences.
Any mocap apps for 2d animation? Also is there a 3d modeling app for iOS where one can create a character, rig and provide movement to 3d character (basically like blender on ipad)?
I love watching your videos, they are really helpful to me, and I learn alot of things. Can you make a video on "how to create glowing effects on medibang paint pro software"
i am new to digital design, I am back to school after many years but i wanted to ask what should i go with ? iPad 7th gen and same my self lots of money OR just bite the bullet and get the iPad pro?
It sucks that iOS doesn’t let you make a wishlist for the App Store… it’s a stupid and bizarre thing to remove. It’s probably losing them money too, because I’m much more likely to buy apps if I can actually remember which ones I wanted on pay day!
Get Your Paperlike here: paperlike.com/BC11
And don't forget their free procreate brushes: paperlike.com/dynamic-environment-brush-set
Is it worth getting Vizref for 10.2” iPad, or is it to small?
U should make one for android
Brad Colbow ordered mine back in June and am still waiting for the shipment notification. 😿
I've been hearing about Paperlike for a long time now, and let me ask this, does it feel as good as the screen on the Wacom One?
For fonts I use two apps any font for installing system level and fantasy for cataloging /finding
I think you forgot to mention an important feature of Vizref, you can also import a .GIF and see it frame by frame for still references from animations! (I don't see any other app do that so I think it was important to just point it out) :D
Faxi that’s sounds cool!
Thanks for letting us know
Thanks...great point.
Photoshop can do it as well, but I guess that’s limited to photoshop/icloud users.
and actually I don't understand really why he call's this apps "Apps Every Artist Needs", literally some of them has free analogues that doing more
If you are reading this, I wish you all become successful, can't wait to see the success of you all

Thank you ❤️ you too
Thank you!💓
Wait, who? Me?? Oh, that's nice ....thanks! Right back at ya!
You. hahaha, well i try but you'll go further :)
You and I have different perspectives about the word “need”.
I "need" you though

it's just a clickbait title.
Haha
@@andr101 how so?

Coolors is also free on their website.
...But not available for ipad?
Is this app still on the app store? I'm not seeing it anymore!
Same here, seems to be missing.

I've had my iPad for a few months. Love seeing your recommendations.
Just wanted to say that vizref was the app i didn’t know I needed 😂 downloaded right after your video hahaha thanks!
Ditto! 🤣

I’m so glad people like you are willing to put in the time and help out people looking to improve their abilities to make art
For those who can't find "Board" it's actually called Morpholio Board.
life saver! thanx!, was wondering beacause with "board" word alone appstore shows lot of crap apps and games
@@zfura I had to watch that section the video again to try to see what the app is actually called.
I downloaded Morpholio Board on a Mac desktop, but it doesn’t do 3D turnarounds. Does it only work for the iPad?
Thankyou. Life saver.
"Coolers" has the same amount of Os as "color" tho.
👁👄👁
Bruh
The apps actually called coolors lol
@@ryleypalmer Thank you. I had looked for "cooler" and "coolers" on the app store, with no (right) results.
:O
The Dave2D of the art world
I don’t understand, what is he similar in? Just curious
Don’t get Paperlike, just get a regular matte screen protector.
There's this app called "Handy", is a reference tool with 3D models of skulls, hands, etc. Its a bit abandoned by the devs, but is still a very good tool.
Really enjoying this more professional yet casual approach to your videos recently, keeps it informative and very approachable. Keep it up Brad 👍

WhatTheFont is another must-have app.
I like the way you explain it. My English is low, but I’m understanding what You saying 90 %.
These apps are really cool

Hi brad ty for the help
this was incredibly useful thanks
“Needs” is a strong word.
Paperlike is phenomenal
I was focusing your hand and OMG WHY IS HIS HAND PALE?!

This helps, thanks 🙏
Interesting, I will download these app. Thank you🎈
Honestly the apps are great but the explanation in how you used them for your creative workflow was very good advice 👌🏾
Really good tipps, thanks👍🏻👍🏻 ...the manikin!!😍🌞😅

a good free alternative to coolers is called pigments and you can set how it randomizes colours in settings
This is such a fabulous guide. Short and sweet!
I use the app called Handy... Can use to position light and for ppl thats not great at hands. Helps with shadowing
Did you realize Brad changed his channel name?
Old: Brad Colbow
New: Brad Cowboy
Manikin and Board. Thanks for introducing those.
I didnot find the board app
Thank you 😊 be safe, be happy 😊
great review, thanks. PD the app is Coolors not Coolers
Thank you so much…very useful 🙏🙏🙏
please make a tutorial on how to use mannikin

Instead of paperlike, you can buy matt finish screen protectors on amazon at a fraction of the cost.
would appreciate making video on this stuff for windows users
Huge inspo here, thanks Brad!
0:57 if you want you can also use Pinterest
In place of Vizref... I use the default Notes app of iPad. Free and does the job.
Loved some of these recommendations! Skipped over paperlike since it's not technically an "app" (sponsor?) and anything requiring a subscription
I'm not sure I could live without Pinterest, also I use Lingo App to store color pallets.
Can you make something like this for android users? For those who can't afford an iPad like me T-T
*You have a shiny new ipad*
Me with my 2 year old iPad: Ummmmm... yeah about that....
Exactly what I needed

I am saving for an ipad pro to make better animation some day someday
I'm fairly sure there's a dozen alternative to coolers that are free that achieve the same thing.
Brad, it’s ‘Coolors’ (you spelled it wrong in the video and in the description), just so you can give a headsup to all your fans 😎😎😎😎
