I think you forgot to mention an important feature of Vizref, you can also import a .GIF and see it frame by frame for still references from animations! (I don't see any other app do that so I think it was important to just point it out) :D
Coolers cost money so I recommend an app called pigments wich is litterly the same. And it's free. EDIT:sorry everyone i dont think it on apple :( but im sure there are lots of other free ones you can find!:)
One thing I found to be a sorta helpful tip for color palettes is: head on down to the home depot paint dept, pick up the paint combination booklets ( I have all of them), scan them and use them as color pallettes. Sometimes I boost the saturation but for color combo visualizing, it's feels like window shopping versus struggling brain torture. ;-)
It's not an ipad app, but I use a VR program called gravity sketch to pose and light mannequins quickly, they can be life size and I can move around to make sure the pose looks natural. When you find the best angle you use the camera tool choose how wide angle and snap some shots like a real camera.
Interior Design app for creating interiors. Especially nice if you’re drawing comics and want to draw different views of the same room in different panels.
I wish I can download vizref for android, and plus I don't even have an iPad or iOS, and I don't even have the money to afford the apps I need to be an artists, they said I need to pay dollars but I am from a different country 😔😔😔
It’s all about convenience I rather carry around my IPad with all my paper and tools in the device. So what’s a few more dollars to make the screen feel like paper. At least I won’t have to lug around drawing pads and a box with all my tools that I would need
The ref organization... WHAT A LIFE SAVER OMG 😂 I never thought to use that at all. Thanks for this video, life just got easier. I'm still a new IPad and Apple user
that Manikin app looks pretty cool. downloading that. Pinterest has a pretty decent iPad app, if you are looking for inspiration. It has some issues: it is almost impossible to follow individual pinners, and it is chock full of ads. But it is great for just flipping through and tucking images into your personal boards
There's this app called "Handy", is a reference tool with 3D models of skulls, hands, etc. Its a bit abandoned by the devs, but is still a very good tool.
Also there's a new app in production called Artfol! I think it has a ton of potential. I recommend it for all the artists out there getting screwed by terrible algorithm
I am a new artist and my parents are going to get me an iPad Pro for me to draw on so I need some of these apps thank you so much four making this video it is helped me and many other new or old artists
Beside the must have procreate, the go to one's are, ArtStation, magic poser, anatomy 3D, this lay one is medical reference but man oh man, being able to see skeleton and muscles in layers from any angle helps a ton.
I'm a bit late here but I have a few comments that might help people who see this later on. 1. If you already have an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription you can use Adobe Capture to make palettes and much more, textures, detect what a font is (and see if the Adobe library has it or something similar), patterns. And all of this is saved into the library you access on all devices. 2. I personally don't like Paperlike that much. It's better than nothing but I wish I remembered what screen protector I had on my previous iPad as it had more tooth and suited me better. Not to mention that the new Pencil doesn't suit me either I find the sensation is not as good as the first Pencil, I miss that spring in the tip that gave me more control. 3. I keep forgetting about it, but for more fantasy orientated illustrations, Hero Forge is actually pretty cool to reflect on poses for all sorts of creatures. Same as you say with the chair thing, I can draw all kinds of poses, but I will default to the same ones so this give me more ideas, and you can change the clothes and props too.
Very helpful. I haven't got an I pad yet, but will definitely get a couple of these. Am worrying if I get an iPad that I won't have loose drawings anymore. Used to working on newsprint with big arm strokes.
Would Vizref be better than just using Pinterest or Apple Notes? Does Vizref keep weblinks to your images in case you need to revisit the website you pulled them from? Where does Vizref save your images: to your device, or to iCloud or to Vizref's cloud? Does Vizref require a subscription?
Any mocap apps for 2d animation? Also is there a 3d modeling app for iOS where one can create a character, rig and provide movement to 3d character (basically like blender on ipad)?
Does Vizref and Cooler sync with any services available on desktop computer? I am always sceptical when I store something only on one device and not having it easily accessible when I work the desktop. Maybe mention this aspect in future iPad videos? But thanks anyway for this video.
Hey Brad The app Coolers have am android alt called Pigments It does the exact same Manikin is going availeble for android its now pre signup in the playstore !
Hey Brad, with the popularity of the Tab S7, can you do one of these for Android please? We already know that CSP is the best drawing app, but what else should I get? Thanks!
I love Behance so much!! I always use them for inspo:) But pinterest is also a very great app for artists, there's just so many things in pinterest!!! I recommend pinterest for other artists🥰
i am new to digital design, I am back to school after many years but i wanted to ask what should i go with ? iPad 7th gen and same my self lots of money OR just bite the bullet and get the iPad pro?
I found an app that had no downloads so was weary but it's pretty good for converting images like PNG to a video format including Gifs,MP4 and APNGs also maintains the transparency. Some ppl say so. But you can also get silicone tip protectors, but so far I have found that they reduce my accuracy a bit, I'm gonna have to experiment.
i use DAZ 3D for character planing on PC first, then i transfer file over from DAZ as "png" or "jpeg" over to ipad pro via email to myself from PC, open and save image to pics on ipad from email on ipad then move it into "Procreate". if your not the greatest figure drawing artist, this is the quickest way to learn while having fun as i have discovered. PS i know DAZ 3d isnt a ipad app, but its free!
Get Your Paperlike here: paperlike.com/BC11
And don't forget their free procreate brushes: paperlike.com/dynamic-environment-brush-set
Is it worth getting Vizref for 10.2” iPad, or is it to small?
U should make one for android
Brad Colbow ordered mine back in June and am still waiting for the shipment notification. 😿
I've been hearing about Paperlike for a long time now, and let me ask this, does it feel as good as the screen on the Wacom One?
For fonts I use two apps any font for installing system level and fantasy for cataloging /finding
I think you forgot to mention an important feature of Vizref, you can also import a .GIF and see it frame by frame for still references from animations! (I don't see any other app do that so I think it was important to just point it out) :D
Faxi that’s sounds cool!
Thanks for letting us know
Thanks...great point.
Photoshop can do it as well, but I guess that’s limited to photoshop/icloud users.
and actually I don't understand really why he call's this apps "Apps Every Artist Needs", literally some of them has free analogues that doing more
If you are reading this, I wish you all become successful, can't wait to see the success of you all

Thank you ❤️ you too
Thank you!💓

Thanks will try!
Coolors is also free on their website.
...But not available for ipad?
Is this app still on the app store? I'm not seeing it anymore!
Same here, seems to be missing.
You and I have different perspectives about the word “need”.
I "need" you though
- Knjn - or “useful” as well 😂😂
it's just a clickbait title.
Haha
@@andr101 how so?

I’m so glad people like you are willing to put in the time and help out people looking to improve their abilities to make art
Just wanted to say that vizref was the app i didn’t know I needed 😂 downloaded right after your video hahaha thanks!
Ditto! 🤣

I don't want to draw on paper
"spend dollars to buy an ipad"
The screen is so glossy
It sud feel like paper
"spend more dollars on paperlike"
I have this and I love it. I am new to digital drawing so I don't actually have anything to reference it to. I love technology!!!

"Coolers" has the same amount of Os as "color" tho.
👁👄👁
Bruh
The apps actually called coolors lol
@@ryleypalmer Thank you. I had looked for "cooler" and "coolers" on the app store, with no (right) results.

Really enjoying this more professional yet casual approach to your videos recently, keeps it informative and very approachable. Keep it up Brad 👍

For those who can't find "Board" it's actually called Morpholio Board.
life saver! thanx!, was wondering beacause with "board" word alone appstore shows lot of crap apps and games
@@zfura I had to watch that section the video again to try to see what the app is actually called.
I downloaded Morpholio Board on a Mac desktop, but it doesn’t do 3D turnarounds. Does it only work for the iPad?
Thankyou. Life saver.

Can you make another for the playstore marketplace? Visref for instance isnt available. Thanks and great videos
Is there a pantone pallette on Cooler?

It's "Coolors" right? Thanks for this.
Is there a free substitute of vizref? Like an app that works the same, is free but maybe not that good?
is it possible that the paperlike screen protector could wear off the apple pencil tip faster compared to the glass itself?

Another good app is manikin ar it uses the camera to create the manikins pose its great and has detail of the body

Isn't it coolors instead of coolers? There's a website named coolors and it does exactly the same thing as shown in the video.
