    Oh my gosh that scale is so cool. And it is always so much fun when your hens first start laying.

      Sorry for the late reply, sometimes we don't get the notification and have to go back and look. Yes, this scale is really neat, and that it has stayed in the family for awhile.

    That is so great to have something not only antique, but from a family member. Very informative video....so happy your girls are happy and starting to lay. Yummy breakfasts and baked goods soon?

    That’s so cool! I’ve never even heard of something like that. How cool to have a family heirloom like that 😃

      I'm so glad that I was the great grandkid that inherited it! Great grandma used it in the 1920s and here I am 100 years later... 🥰

    Super informative!!! We found an egg “connection” until we can raise our own and they are the best eggs I have ever had. Not sure what breed or what she feeds her girls but I intend to find out!

      Awesome!! Did you compare the yolk to the ones you buy from the store? Any time frame when your getting chickens 😉😉!?

      Even the Sparrow Homestead oh the yolks are so beautiful, so dark almost orange. We buy 2 dozen a week! lol...and a third dozen for a friend. A couple weeks ago we had a cold spell and the hens were using their energy to stay warm...so sad to buy supermarket eggs! Probably another year and a half before we have our own chickens!

    What an amazing scale to have! They don’t make things like that now! I’m curious, was the big egg a double yolker?

    • @EventheSparrowHomestead
      @EventheSparrowHomestead  5 лет назад +1

      It sure was a double yolker. We've since had more of the double yolk eggs from the same hen. Poor thing.
