Please never stop making speck/red/flounder content, so much fun to watch. From central Alabama, love to get on em when I can get down to the coast. Love when you talk about your setup too. Would like to see you work the hoodwink in freshwater some more once the bass start spawning.
Old man told me to slow retrieve down to a boring crawl when it gets real cold .Said their hungry just like us but they get cold quick an just lay there. Enjoyed the vid y'all.
My go to since I got an Engel live bait cooler is Iive shrimp. Doesn’t matter if the water is 40 degrees or 90 degrees they’ll hit a live shrimp! My biggest issue fishing artificial in cold weather is I don’t fish them slow enough. A live bait I can put under a popping cork or a dropper rig and let it do its thing.
Alright! 🍿 Another episode. I’ve been finding success with those little guys as well but in the pink color. I will try this pearl / chart as well very soon!
Good video! My Goto lure right now is a white/chartruese Vudu shrimp, covered with shrimp flavored Pro cure, and right before dusk I switch to a Yo-zuri 3DS minnow, which usually will produce the biggest trout of the day. My last trip the Yo-zuri got two 20" trout, back to back on the slow pedal troll back home, but it has produced some trout over 25", just have to watch the #8 trebles because they will bend!
Nate, I promised you an honest review after buying a few packs of the hoodwinks. I was down around the Banana River in Florida last week. I was using a bunch of other artificial baits like paddle tails, spinner baits, jerk baits and gulp baits. Believe me when I tell you it was tuff fishing. The only bait that I caught fish on were the hoodwinks. I’m a believer and I don’t go anywhere without them in my tackle box. For all of you out there, I’ve never met Nate and I’m not affiliated with him in no way. You need to have these in your box or on your boat.
Good video brother. I am glad you had a nice day on the water on a cold winter day. We have had the same weather you been having plus snow on top of all the above that you said. Cold temperatures 16° Degrees weather for the high. I had to stay in the house for a week because the cold weather would have made my feet 🦶 & toes hurt because I have Damage nerves and muscles in my feet 🦶 now which really really hurts when my feet 🦶 or toes get cold. My family wouldn't let me go out side for anything except for to get in the car & that it. I wish I could find me some boots man because I Felt So bad about my family being outside while I in side. Water all ice up & can't do any fishing. Good video brother thanks you for sharing this. Be safe out there brother.
I’m thinking I need to move to Alabama! I think all of my favorite fishing RUclipsrs are out of Alabama! From LOJO to YakPak, Logan Anderson, Bama Saltwater and of course Southern Salt! Thought the fishing was good here in NC but y’all are killing it down there in Bama!
Awesome as much as I would like to see your hoodwink here locally glad there not YET. Cause they are my favorite cause not many using them . My go to for cold trout is a corky , redfish will be small paddle tail , buggs jig or swim jig
I live in Wisconsin and have fished speckled trout in Florida, but I don’t know what is considered a good fish. I had one at 22”. Is that good? Thanks for educating me. God Bless!
If that rat red was a croaker or a whiting, it would be perfect pan size. Why do they have to be so big? Is it because they get much larger or are the population in trouble?
I watch Capt. Collier, too!
He’s got a great channel

Man I got some good bass trips planned too!!
@@southernsaltlove your Crappie videos too!
Hoodwinked them again! That rat red was a little beauty. Thanks Nate! Glad the weather has calmed so we can see you fishing again.
Hopefully it stays calm lol looks like we’re in for a few good days ahead
Hoodwink of course! However, it's hard to beat a 3" paddletail or Vudu shrimp when the going gets tough.
🙌 heck yeah!!

Thank you! Slowing down definitely paid off here!

Nate, good to see you back on the water. Are you using the FG knot for your braid to leader line connection.
I use the uni to uni knot for main line to leader.
Great video as usual!!!!
Thanks brother!!

Your audio has been echoing/muffling for a couple months. You can hear it pretty clear around 4:20-4:40. Just wanted you to know.
That’s caused by the 20 mph wind hitting the mic. Not a whole lot I can do about it.
If that rat red was a croaker or a whiting, it would be perfect pan size. Why do they have to be so big? Is it because they get much larger or are the population in trouble?
Really all of the above they do get much larger and there’s just not much meat on a fish that size
