Hi , I lived in Thailand for 9 years. Had to return home to Ireland because of ill health. So your videos are a very welcoming way for me to look back at the moment in my life when I was so happy. Still happy but I miss Thailand so much. Thank you, I really appreciate what you're doing.

This video is a lifeline for someone in quarantine. Thanks Chris! When I saw your video that they opened the TR visa to the world, I almost immediately applied. Less than two weeks after my first contact with the Thai Embassy, I had COE. Pretty great. Now chilling in ASQ, finding the end of Netflix. Can't wait to try the Phad Krapow!

Chris, the wife and I want to come to Bangkok one day and we’ll be traveling with a toddler, depending on when he’ll be older than 1 but closer to 2-3. Any videos you can do about places to stay or visit with families would be great. We don’t need mainstream entertainment but we like to explore. This market looks like it would be awesome to be close to. Maybe a video series on traveling with young families? Keep them coming!!

Thailand is a food culture and a food lover’s paradise.
You cannot compare it to many western countries in that regard. Food is everywhere, unlike many western countries.

Food courts like that are hidden gems that the majority tourists never find but all local Thais know about! I remember being taken to one that was under an office building somewhere - I would never find it again! I do go to one that is near to the riverside and close to the Robinson department store near Shangri La hotel. More modest than the one you use but still has great food.

My Wife began taking me to visit her home country Thailand back in the year 2000... You could buy a lunch and a bottle water for .50 cents US.... Thai currency exchange was
42 baht/one dollar.... Thailand is a bit more exspensive today, yet still doable👍

I know many many middle aged white men flock to Thailand looking for love, etc. I’ve been to Bangkok and a few other cities in Thailand but only a few days in each. Are there many single middle aged white women like myself living in Thailand long term. Would you recommend it? I’m a retired teacher and I’d still like to teach in some capacity. Thanks for any information or opinions you may have.

Normally Thais have their pad kra pao with runny yolk fried egg, but fried egg tofu is also great!
Sometime we have it with fried century eggs, crispy pork, fried chicken, and seafood.
I believe that if you ask Thai people to choose 1 menu to have for the rest of their life, it's mostly gonna be pad kra pao.

In Australia to get a retirement visa there at the Thai Embassy in Canberra as I have previously, A requirement is that you get a police report in the state where you live no less than 3 months old. It only goes back for 7 years. (you could have been a bank robber 8 years ago and it would not be on the police report). As shown on the actual application form you are required to supply a police report for an STV now, it says this is a requirement. An application for a police report in the State of Western Australia cost Aus $75 and takes about 2/3 weeks to get.
It is also noted that on the Australia, "Thai Embassy Website advice" to get an STV it is not mentioned that you require Aus $25,000 in savings in a bank account in Australia. However there is a requirement that proof is required that you do have Aus$25,000 in a bank account in Australia to be granted an STV. It's on the application form but is NOT in the advice section.
On the Thai website advice there is no mention of the price you pay for a STV, perhaps it is the same as the old 90 day Thai Tourist Visa of Aus $300 where, to extend that in Thailand, a further application had to be provided as well as Bt1900 in Thailand to extend that visa for another 30 days to a total of 90 days. With no disrespect to Dutch people in the world we often say in Aus "it's all double Dutch".

If you are a fan of Pad Gapao then check out Moom Gapao little restaurants than you can find in numerous places in Bangkok. Just because they are a chain doesn't mean they aren't good. The only thing on the menu is Pad Gapao, several varieties of, and you can ask them to tone down the heat (or up!). They use only the best rice (they claim) and duck eggs.

Another food market where you can find the same market like these is in Silom. It's near Silom Surawong condominium and close to ITF tower.
