Discover Bangkok's Best Night Market - #2 of 25 Things To Do in Bangkok
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 27 ноя 2022
- Bangkok night markets are famous, and this is the best on in the city, by far. Thai food, street food, shopping, vintage clothes....they even have a train and helicopter.
Open only at night and only from Thursday to Sunday, this is the original Rod Fai market aka the Train Night Market. It's #2 on my top 25 things to do in Bangkok list because it's one of my favorite things in the Big Mango to enjoy. Most tourists go to Chatuchak but trust me....you should go here instead. Eat, drink, and be merry!

What this series of videos has shown the World is the diversity of one City. I cannot wait to revisit in 9 weeks time! This country has so much to offer and it never stops changing
Also 9 weeks for me
Hah, I’m beating you to it by a couple of weeks 😁
@@heythave beat you by 2 also lol
@@MrTyrrell86 😢😢😢
OMG HOFUC99SLSING S1111CKĶL YOU AREEÈ. CK OMSMMIT SUKLCIIDEÈ
The series not only shows the diversity, It also displays how much things have transformed in last 10 years.
Thank you so much brother.🙏🇹🇭
ดูตั้งแต่ไปเกาหลี ดีใจที่กลับมาไทยอีกครั้งครับ
I have seen a tonne of instagrams and youtubes of other people travelling around Thailand and showcasing it. Although good, Chris is the best. You can see his love for Thailand and the people show through. He has that way of storytelling(voice, scenes, edits-don't know) that just draws you in. I am not sure many other people could do this the way he does it. Things I have learned...eat meat and drink leo. Thanks for an awesome series!!
Yeah I agree this is really well known and you'll see plenty of Westeners there. It's certainly not a hidden and locals only market. I wouldn't even say it's the best, although that's subjective obviously. I'm not going to name then I like them unknown ;-)
Haley is so lovely 🥰
Agreed!
Another banger, brother! I love that market as well. Every time I have been I am very tempted to get one of those antique cawfee grindhas! My number 2 viewers are the same as yours, I think we might have the same number one as well. ;-)
Can’t believe I missed this opportunity to see this in Bangkok. Been to Thailand numerous times and have never seen this place!! What a beautiful view.
I went to this market 10yrs ago. Back then there were the strips of cool antique /vintage shops, and a big dirt lot with tons of food vendors, bars, live music. Looks like they cleaned it up and expanded it a bit.
I think there was an old Rot Fai Market and this is Rot Fai 2 if I'm not mistaken
There are only a handful antique sellers now, its mainly the collection of the owner, for vintage and antiques you go to Bangsue Junction Mall / DD Mall opposite JJ market, housing also the former JJ Green market sellers.
Number 1 is Thailand 🇹🇭🎉🥳
Chris as you said “I’m meeting Mark Wiens tomorrow” Hayley’s reaction was hilarious. I had to freeze the video as I almost wet myself laughing. Brilliant, keep up the good work, this has been a fabulous series and I will certainly follow many of the recommendations on my next visit. Now how about a top 10 in Chiang Mai !
oh that's a pretty good idea.....top 10 in Chiang Mai
I'm Thai, this market is only 10 minutes away from my house, but I haven't been here in 4-5 years since the corona virus. Watching this clip made me think I should go here.
You're blessed to have such a beautiful soul for a wife Chris. Maybe my wife and I will bump in to you guys next month...
I cannot think of any city in the world where you can do and see so much in relative safety if this market was in another country it would be full of gangs trying to rip you off. Great place. Great series. 👍😎
Absolutely my favourite night market! It’s such an experience to visit and pretty unknown to tourists.
what time do they close on a sunday
Freaking awesome. I have been following both of you from the beginning. I love that Mark was so gracious and came to join you. Made my day. I am hoping to start traveling in mid 2024 depending on inflation. Love you guys, keep up the good work.
👋🏼Hey Chris! 😮Episode 2 👍🏼👍🏼 love the Thailand night markets there so much fun!! Can’t wait for tomorrow! Why? It’s episode 1! woohoo!😊
🤞🏼so hopefully Mark is joining you🤞🏼🍻cheers🍻♥️🇨🇦
Hah, I was here last night! I agree, it's a brilliant market, such a good vibe and a lot of buffet grills. :)
How do you get there as there are 2 rod fai markets
The original Talat Rot Fai was located near Chatuchak market, on land owned by the State Railway of Thailand. Hence the name. The market was closed some 8-10 years ago, then moved to its current location in Srinakarin when land needed to be cleared for the Bang Sue Grand Station.
Well worth a visit! Bangkok vibe in a nutshell
Yes that was the original one, with the old railway warehouses, been 10 years already, now some sellers are around the corner at The Bangsue Junction Mall or DD Mall antique and vintage, also housing the former JJ Green market sellers.
I lke the old one, not just about food. but their have ton of retro stuff for sale in the old Rodfai market as well, so now just only food
I love your channel! Watching this as I prepare for my Bangkok trip!
"RodFai,"(Train) is the brand name of the night market. Originally there were 2 branches. Currently, there is only one located in Srinakarin.
I visited this market back in May and had an awesome evening. Had a seafood platter that was out of this world good!
Hayley น่ารักมาก
That ending is hilarious 😂
i love seeing that 100K next to your name. so damn well deserved brother!
My idea of mini heaven would be at the same night club with Jonny, Chris and Mark😜
Viewer from America here! I went to some stops you and mark had went to and boy it did not disappoint. Thank you for the great content 😊
Love your work 😊 Definitely a RUclips highlight watching everyday
I love the many night markets in Bangkok. I like number 2 🇹🇭✌️
Damn right watching from Pennsylvania usa❤loving this channel
Awesome video, thanks for sharing! The train market is such a cool place! Love the vibe there ❤️🙌😊
100% agree on the market it’s perfect for an evening out
This is our favo market 2. the atmosphere is just awesome.
was there almost 5 years ago, best outdoor market i've ever been to.
Never been out to this one but I have been to the other one in Ratchada before it was closed down. That one was great, but I'll take you word for it that this one is bigger and better! Almost to #1!
Yea now the space of the closed one is an Extension of Jodd Fairs but more accessories, clothing shoppings!
Just saw another video where Ratchada has reopened and added a bunch of clubs as well. Still miss the Art Box. Loved that place.
Hey Bobby! Oh man. Art Box was awesome. I was there almost every week. I’m glad I took advantage of it while it was there. It was so great having a night market within walking distance.
Such a great job Chris.
Thanks again, Chris. Will definitely visit this when I get back up to Bangkok.
You should!
Yes, it's my favourite as well, but I refer to it as Srinagarindra train market.
The Krapow place near the car park is very good.
Chris, thanks for another great series and video, I am sad that America only made # 2, I was hoping my fellow brothers would make # 1, but keep up the great work. I have not been able to visit Thailand since 1985, hope to get back there soon. Will be retired in two years!!
yes , I will definitely go there next month when I am in Bangkok, I can't wait
Thanks for showing this market and many others , I cant wait to visit them.
Any time!
Awesome number two!
Love it!
Man!

Thanks Chris, great video I must visit when in Bangkok
Looks great, really wonder what number 1 will be looking forward to tomorrow!
Looks much better than Jodds Fair. A must for my next stay in Bangkok. Thanks Chris!
Good choice of night market, Chris. As a Thai, I can confirm this market is more popular than Chatuchak now.
Incredibly cool spot.
yeah..number two.night market is perfect for thailands weather
Welcome to Thailand😍😍🙏🙏🇹🇭
Great choice, certainly my favourite market in Thailand.
Mine too!
Wow Almost There - massive project that has been tons of fun to follow.
just one more to go!
Great series Chris
Good videos. Love the series.
I loved your 25 best of bkk series, already miss the video's! Why not make it the best 50😃! Have a great day with Mark Wiens tomorrow 😅😁!
Awesome video! In BKK right now... will hit up the market later this week! 🙂
Hope you enjoy it!
Good point about the train market near Rama 9 at 5:40, ever since they renovated it, it lost its character as well, with the white tents it's clearly targeting a certain foreign audience.
I'm definitely going to visit 'the real one' soon! Thanks for the recommendation! 🙏🏼
yeah jodd fairs is convenient if you're in that area (as many people, especially tourists, are) but it's relatively weak. this one is SO much better, it's not even close.
Yes, exactly
g'day Chris, we're diggin' yer vids mate. faf the 25 rule 'em all list cheers. we're going in august to enjoy the wet season 🤙
I have been there and ya it's best local night market in Bangkok.
Yo Chris, just saw you at Asok station but it took me a second to figure out if it was actually you and by then you were already on your way to get a ticket or catch a train.. Anyway, I'm at the park right now because of your recommendation and I must say it's amazing! Thanks for the advice and all the great content!
Cheers 🙏🏻
Local is the way to go .... can't wait for tomorrow's winner!

I need to go to that market this weekend.
The train market is the best! Love that place. Great place to get a frosty coke! Are taking bets on if Mark Wiens will show up for number one on the list. Everything looks so tasty. I have enjoyed the entire list, Chris. Looking forward to number one!
we'll find out tomorrow! fingers crossed Thomas!
I thought USA would be #1 for sure! That only leaves China. I guess I have to increase my sharing!
Great video. Also check out Liab Duan night market, Ramintra, North East Bangkok, popular with locals.
Dang, this market looks awesome. One more day, man! I can't wait to see you and Mark Weins walking into Cockatoo on Soi Cowboy to see the number one place in Bangkok.
Yeah, Mark’s a little busy chowing down seafood in Trinidad and Tobago somewhere.
Haley's dress is so cute!!
Welcome to Thailand. Have a nice travel.🤍🥰
Right Chris. Im from USA and I was like your 25th sub. I remember you falling in the water in Lumphini Park. I'm in BKK right now. I missed y our last meetup. I wish there was a better way to know they're coming up.
Omg I love seeing Hailey !! She hasn't aged a day and looks amazing:) Great videos Chris !! ps. it's Sue Hoard
town in town area is very good. good food shop
Oh wow. Didn’t even know about this place. I figured it had to be good to bump the iconic Chatachuk off of the list, lol
Wow Bankkok Thailand♥️👍✌️🙏
Yay! For USA!!
This market is brilliant- definitely on my to go to list. Of course Mark will come- if you say it he will come - like Fields of Dreams
if you build it.....he will come!
@@RetiredWorkingForYou I have faith he will make an appearance. And well done, again, for this series. It really has been so informative, inspiring and cheers me up no end.
Too many markets, a big sign for our consumer society, the focus should be more on each other in general. But what a nice vlog again. Love ya‘
Nothing happens in Thailand without food. The Thais go to the markets not only to browse and shop but to socialize, eat and drink with family and friends. Basically to enjoy a good time in the company of others which is a big part of Thai culture. All the markets and food stalls keep unemployment at a minimum as they create opportunities for all kinds of people (usually women) to open their own little businesses.
I have to agree with Mark Wiens this time, sorry Chris.
I like yr long list ha ha ha look like the calendar 🤣😂😍❤️
Oh US is the #2 of the most watched country, i wonder what #1 will be!?
Also can't wait to finally see Mark Wiens with you in one video🤣
Did you missed that great classic vespa after you great these 2 boys 😁
🍺👍❤️Looks like a really nice market!
❤...Sweet...🎉
Yeah Merica!
I BELIEVE !!
thanks carl! fingers crossed!
tomorrow is big day for all of as bro, cant wait 55
awesome!!!
Fc from thailand
This place was on my list March 2020, but we all know how it went.. just 2 weeks before my departure from here, it was all shut down.. It was frustrating, it was a real downer,
since everything was ready for the first trip in 2022
But this Train Night Market is still high on my list, is number 3 on the list, what to see in Bangkok
I can easily kill a few hours in here :)
So this is not the Ratchada Rot Fai with its colorful tents that closed during covid and became Jodd Fairs... this is another rot fai train market... 👍👍 I love night markets and I miss Thailand... thank you sir 🙏👍 this one is a bit hard to reach...
The Ratchada market has reopened as "The One"
I can read it :)
Actually, this market is the second train market. The first train market is near Chatuchak market. You probably know a public park called Suan rod fai because all the land in that area is owned by the State Railway of Thailand. The first railway market was called Talad Suan Rod Fai or Suan Rot Fai Market. And the landowners who used to organize the market have reclaimed the land to use for the railway business. The market manager at that time was looking for land to turn into a train market. And at Srinakarin, it's a new place, so the former name is Train Market Srinakarin, but Thai people call this market at first the Train Market 2.😁😁🙏🙏
Maybe it's just me but I find this market to be more diverse in terms of what we can buy and cheaper than Chatuchak market.
Yeahhhh man
New Skytrain is MRT Yellow line ( Super Manorail by Bombadier )
ชอบมากกุ้งแพ
Hi Chris, which BTS stop to get there? I loved this market but it was pretty hard to get to even with a taxi because of the jam
Yellow line, open feb 2023(not sure), suanluang station
Mark, Mark, Mark,.....& Mark!!!!!
Ha Ha Ha!!!!😁😁😁😁😁
You mention that it has its own, new BTS stop, but you don't mention what that stop is. I'd love to know! Thanks!
WHAT A SCARY START
I should have gone there last night. I gotta get away from Khaosan. Need some wholesome fun...
Wait, I couldn't go last night. Last night was Wednesday.
4:40That is enought for me too.555
Loving your work.
Where does New Zealand come on your list of viewers?
was curious also was it already named as I missed it?
Ages ago but I forgot the number. One of the early ones.
@@tw25rw I'll have to re-watch
@@kentaylor2416 might be the durian one. Was 8n the first week.
@@tw25rw thanks.
I missed some of the earlier ones.
Glad we made the list.
Many cities have more people than my whole country.
Is this one also called Srinagarindra Train Night Market???
