Def agree on a threejima gaiden game, at least a majima gaiden game. I think it would be cool if it takes place in Brazil tho, considering 1.8 million people of Japanese descent live there due to the diaspora.
As a person who lives in brazil i see this as an absolute win and considering rgg are leaving Japan and going to different countries i would really like to see this.
Just stumbled upon this channel. Great ideas you have pre IW release. I think you're first idea with daigo, majima and saejima is really strong and could be a contender for them segwaying from 6 to 8 similar to gaiden which was kiryu's segway from 6 to 8. Just to play a bit of devil's advocate here. As much as gaiden was an amazing game and yokoyama has stated they might want to do more gaiden games in the future. I would just like these games to connect to the bigger timeline that they have set up. I know this might sound weird but to me yakuza's timeline has the same effect as the MCU timeline where each movies being very different from each other they all connected to a bigger story. The only thing that I don't want the gaiden games to be is what happened to the MCU with their TV shows where they just made it just because they can, and barely connect to the bigger story. Which is something you touched upon near the end with Shinada and Tanimura. Keep up the great content!!
Honestly fine with any gaiden-esque game I mainly want anything with the time 6 was happening with most character’s maybe the hirose family after 6 or specifically Yuta and Haruka specifically also I just want them the make the coliseum consistently this good and improve on playable characters 💀
I'd love to play a Nishiki spin-off game. I started with Y0 and his villainy in Kiwami 1 just couldn't stick the landing with me personally. If we can experience the story that happened with him during Kiryu's 10-year serving time in the joint, and show how angry and twisted he had become over time through dialogues, fighting style, or small things like facial expressions and how he walks would be very cool.
yeah i have the same thoughts too about nishiki, i thought in kiwami 1 it wouldve been cool to play as him for a chapter or 2 to experience what he experienced

I will pray for a Akiyama game, i personally think his story is not yet done, we dont even know what happened to his past friends like Kido and Arai etc. and in terms of gameplay i hope they wont nerf juggles this time when it makes more sense he has juggling.

Akiyama was chased by the Triads in 6, and then i forgot what happened next also lol, they didn't do much with it.
