I’ve spent so much time in hospitals, days curled up in bed from stomach pains, and I have to deal with long lasting effects that with stay with me for the rest of my life.

The one thing I can say in defense of the actual “fad no gluten diet” thing is that they’ve popularized gluten free things and made them more available to those who need them, but at the same time everybody assumes it’s a fad thing now so people who ask for things gluten free aren’t given them on the assumption that they’ll be fine. But yeah, I do (of course, I have an intolerance) agree in the end that you should ALWAYS listen to somebody who doesn’t want gluten or anybody with any allergy or food restriction, period. Anyway, this world is a nightmare

While the fad has its benefits (like how now there’s more gluten free stuff), these people literally endanger our lives by making light of our actual medical condition. We don’t get the same respect as someone with, say, a peanut allergy, and I honestly don’t know if we ever will :(. Even if their intent was to strike back at people who think it’s just a fad (which I honestly don’t think it was), the joke still ends up trivializing gluten free living, which isn’t okay. Sorry if I sound too intense, but I’m just *done* with people like that D:
