I cannot believe the volume of work you have produced. Mindblowing. Surely you are one ofthe most prolific painters of all time. No subject matter has been passed over. Absolutely love you and your work. Each piece a gem. Thank you for sharing your work.
It’s so moving how you see the entire world as an opportunity to be creative, to study light, and to record your journey. Thank you for sharing so much of this with all of us.
9:35 Small thing, but I love how you faded from the Ipad audio to recorded audio there. There's so much detail even in your video editing! Truly inspiring
[NOTE : I dont mean any harm to james, I love this guy but.] when he dies, his sketch books would be worth their weight in gold at auctions. they are just beyond amazing.
The way your work makes me feel nostalgic for a life I’ve never lived is quite magical. & super enjoyed the portrait of your wife in the diner. Would love to dive into more of your sketchbooks. Great work!!
Not one of them was a dud, all those years of experience and heaps of knowledge just dreate perfection each and every tme! I hope to be half the artist you are one day.
This is beautiful. I love how you immortalized the athletes, commentator, audio man, and everything period. Beautiful. I am always impressed and inspired with your work Mr. Gurney. Love it!
Really wonderful. I get the idea that if you’re awake, you’re painting. It’s a daily practice. The way you’re able to capture the quality of light and then convey it to viewers has helped me “see” light, color, reflected color and shade in a new way. And I notice it all the time now. Thank you. I have a couple of your books and love them.
Your snow piles look so realistic as well as everything else in your paintings. I’m always in awe of your work. So thankful you share your beautiful work with all of us.
Hi James. A few words from a great fan from Barcelona. I've started aquarelle painting after following your RUclips videos during months. You have all my admiration. I love your work and great skills. Thanks a lot.
Thank you for sharing your gifts and the stories that go with each painting! I've always loved your work and have learned so much from videos and your love of colors and how you transpose the wonder of what you see and experience. Amazing, and again thank you for being you, James Gurney!
Very interesting and inspiring! You are a walking museum! Non stop originality is a great way to practice. Thanks so much for teaching us ways we can paint. Great video! Blessings and be safe.
These are all amazing choices to view your artwork, though I would be lying if I say I wouldn't love to have a physical artbook with all your watercolor/gouache sketchbook works on it. Hoping someday that happens!
I know it's not exactly what you're looking for but Mr Gurney has some books for sale, Color and Light does contain some of his artwork as well as "how to" information. I would love what you're specifically looking for as well though.
You are simply wonderful, still my big idol as artist and illustrator, since I got the first "Dinotopia" book at Christmas, I was 18 or 19 then and it changed my life...
Jeeez! I just "discovered" your channel a few days ago, and have gone through tons of your videos!! Your artwork is incredible.. This sketchbook makes me feel like I'm sitting in the sidelines of a game. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us!
I just love the way you painted the scene at 1:11; it's like I'm looking into a memory. In fact, it reminds me a lot of the baseball game scene in MIB 3 where Griffin shows how he sees the world. Simply amazing!
Wow, these paintings are awesome! I am in love with both your portraits and your landscape paintings. The diversity of the colors in the shadows, the thin lines that perfectly capture hair and beards, the shapes that define the scene ... super impressive and inspiring! :)
Woahhh, I'm from the Hudson Valley as well! I've spent many hours at that dock in Rhinecliff waiting for the train ---really trippy. And my friend's uncle owns that tire shop near the 7 minute mark across the river. Come over to Pine Plains & paint the mountain!
Gonna get the 1&2 bundle. I love your color and light book and all your RUclips videos. I’ve learned so much from you. Thanks for the quality products.
Dear James, you need to get these amazing books to a special museum after you are gone. What a beautiful legacy to leave to everyone! Iam 75 yrs now and have begun to think of what I want to do with my special stuff? Could you or would you ever consider Painting a picture of the B25 Ruptured Duck on a consignment for my family? It was my Dads plane in WWII. .? Iam on Facebook under Kit Lawson Cuccinello
Hi James... thank you for the link to the app, sounds like a great way to study and learn some of your techniques. I really enjoy your style, your work and am very inspired. Thanks again.
Hello James, I have been avidly binge watching your masterful videos for the past two days. I am 66 years young and have just recently dusted off my 40 years too long unused brushes and canvas. I am so very interested in purchasing your video of the sketchbook 'Boyhood Home ' and for some reason google play says this is 'unavailable'? Or something to that affect. I am not a computer techie of any means but I do have a great tablet and seem to get along quite well with it. Do you know what the problem might be? I know that this question is coming from quite an older video, but I am crossing my fingers that you might find my question. And with that, might I take this opportunity to tell you that you might be one of the very finest artists of this century. I would put you right up along with Norman Rockwell as one of my idols. You are a joy to watch as you paint and a treasure of knowledge to listen to as you create your masterful pieces of art. Thank you for all that you share with so many.
Very cool, just picked up volume one.I have been watching you for a while and had no idea this app existed. Nice to show you a little support and get something out of it too. I hope I can figure out how to display them on my home hub.
Fantastic artwork. I just love your work. I actually bought a set of gouache (W&N) because of you. Had to try it out and I love it. I suck at it, but at least I am trying, getting a little bit better day by day. It is a way for me to relax. :)
The other day I saw a sign that said, “Not some day, TODAY.” I work full time and struggle to find time for art, as you probably do too. That sign was a good message to me. Good luck-
Which one is easier? Painting with gouache or water color. I've always thought water color is not so easy. Any suggestion for me because I want to use one of the painting ways
Hey James, could you recommend a water color sketchbook? I’ve tried using Moleskine water color sketchbooks in the past, but I find that the paper warps too much.
Your understanding of light and shadow and use of colour will never cease to amaze me, Mr.Gurney. Just... wow.
I cannot believe the volume of work you have produced. Mindblowing. Surely you are one ofthe most prolific painters of all time. No subject matter has been passed over. Absolutely love you and your work. Each piece a gem. Thank you for sharing your work.
You are so cool
*HEY N IM X NICE TO MEET YOU*

Holy crap this sketchbook is so energetic and well made
This is a real pleasure to look over your shoulder and watch how you take the, ordinary things in,life and turn them into a beautiful work of art!

honestly, i love how you control the light
This is awesome. It's like James Gurney's museum of art.
A gem on every page. I love the way you captured the snow, and how light reflects off of it. Magical.
This is beautiful. I love how you immortalized the athletes, commentator, audio man, and everything period. Beautiful. I am always impressed and inspired with your work Mr. Gurney. Love it!
everyone's talking about how great of an artist you are (and you sure are) but all i can think about is that man and his burrito.
Really wonderful. I get the idea that if you’re awake, you’re painting. It’s a daily practice. your paintings are so accurate, at first i thought they were photographs!
These are all amazing choices to view your artwork, though I would be lying if I say I wouldn't love to have a physical artbook with all your watercolor/gouache sketchbook works on it. Hoping someday that happens!

I just love the way you painted the scene at 1:11; it's like I'm looking into a memory. In fact, it reminds me a lot of the baseball game scene in MIB 3 where Griffin shows how he sees the world. Simply amazing!
You take the mundane and make it beautiful!

Have you ever been to the Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational they have every year in October?
The app is a great idea, but is not available in my region (in Asia). Is it possible to ask Apple's app store to offer it more broadly? Thank you
Awesome, wish I could flip through all of them. How much time do all those sketchbooks on the table span?
Seriously amazing
These are great!!!
Мастер Гуаши 👍👍👍
Incredible
Got the app... im happy
Hey James, could you recommend a water color sketchbook? I’ve tried using Moleskine water color sketchbooks in the past, but I find that the paper warps too much.
I use the Pentalic Aqua Journal, which has a heavier paper than Moleskine: amzn.to/2EBwEne
man, i need to try guosh and watercolor. I feel like ive mastered pencils and pens but need a new challenge. really beautiful want to get to that lvl.
that guy with airpods munching on the wrap is so goofy i love it
Amazing!
They are beautiful. Is there a reason why you don't like to paint the back of the page?
Sometimes a bit of the paint (or colored pencil) transfers to the facing page, so I prefer to avoid having paintings on facing pages.
all are great Work !
OMG!!!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
you are great artist !!
Huge fan from a beautiful county Nepal 🙏
