Jonny English however if there are farms nearby and horse paths and I believe there are, then nice tasty manure may be on the menu if Smooth is lucky.
Seemed to be part of the log he was burrowing in. Quit the contrast to poetry and painting. The painting was lovely but I am not there yet to grasp the variation in shapes and texture.
There is something so much more wonderful about your channel than other art channels. I never feel like you are telling me how I should draw or the type of forms and shapes that I should use like so many others. You are just showing how you draw and talking about the wonderful and technical things that swim through your head when you paint and make art.
Your channel is such a wonderful breath of air on this platform and I love all of your work!

Smooth is such a beautiful dog! It was almost as much of a treat to watch him play and get up to trouble as it was to watch you paint this scene. Your location reminds me very much of the spaces where I used to camp and hike every summer in Northern Oregon. Beautiful!

Oh, I can SO empathize with that inability to get off the road...even in our local state park, unless you care to park in one of the parking lots and keep to the asphalt path around the lake, you can't get at some of most interesting things to sketch! But you ARE inspiring me to get my gouache out again, thank you James!

Outstanding interpretation of a complex subject!
You have such a wonderful understanding of your medium. Beautiful painting. Comment on common areas that people can walk in America: yes we can’t walk many places in America without trespassing. Many areas are owned by private individuals with giant homes or hotels blocking the view, here in Florida. You can’t park or walk to most of the beach. You have to go to the limited public area and drive around in circles for hours to find a parking space and pay through the nose for it. But the other thought is often when we do make access to these beautiful areas people crap them up. Even on the beach people leave debris and bags and food wrappers all over the place. So I don’t know how you keep those beautiful areas beautiful once people do encroach. But there has to be some way. Because people are not full of life without being able to go into nature.
Kinda reminded me of when Evil Kinevil jumped the grand canyon. Lol. Smooth was tearing that log up. You may go back and that footpath may be paved....Great painting

I’ve always been a watercolour purest but after seeing your handling of gouache I’m going to give it a go, I’ve had some tubes of gouache sitting in my box that I won for something a while back and am excited at having a go. Lovely paintings you do. And hay a dogs go to eat.....

Loving your videos, James. There's some mesmerizing quality to them, you masterfully control viewer's attention and watching him/her not to get bored of repetitive actions. Mixing it with footage of your dog for example, or with some interesting facts. And it feels so warm and magical, like an old fantasy movie. Paintings are fantastic and there are a lot of valuable information and methods. Please, keep doing what you do.

Hi James... I wonder how many viewers recognized what you were doing in the beginning of the video when you were over lapping your socks over your pants.... to avoid the ticks you were going to be walking through. Your finished painting made me wonder if you could have had one of your dinosaurs peeking through, maybe a T-rex coming out of the shadows in the distance approaching you. Excellent video again, thank you.
Cool, "you're in the know". I also used some tick spray, but somehow the ticks found their way onto me anyway.
