Absolutely, a good translation translates the meaning of the text. You can't do it literally. I saw a lecture on the subject where a guy had written a letter to his friend and after three lines realised that every line was exactly one character shorter than the line above.... so he proceeded with finishing the letter with the lines getting progressively shorter by a single character, ending in a one line punctuation. ... he had to cheat in one place. Now.... when translating this to other languages what do you do? You need to convey the meaning of the letter, but you ideally also have to keep the geometric shape (that the text looks like a triangle). What about the cheat. Do you cheat in some similar way to the target language or do you try to get around it? There are no universally right or wrong answers here.

You were born into the Lutheran church the same way as you were born into Östergötlands län or Stockholm. It was more about tradition in that it was historically the church that kept records on people. And being born "into" the church does not mean that they were baptised in the church. I'm not a member of the Swedish church. Have not been since the 1980s.
S' like most other european countries. The right wing is more or less equal to the left wing in the us. Even the political parties that would be categorised as radical right are more tolerant than the tea party. The people who care about your sexual orientation are few and far between.

No, I'm rather certain that you are no longer born into the Church anymore. Neither I nor any of my siblings were born into the Church, even though our mother is of that church. She was also born into it, due to that in her time, having only one parent in the Swedish Church seemed to make you born into the Church. Perhaps it is different if both of your parents are of the Church, but I'm reasonably certain that you are no longer born into it automatically. And by born into it, I mean registered.
What is perfectly clear is that you have adopted the christian view of homosexuality that didnt excist before its rise.
