You have to press B1 when landing under extreme conditions to keep the hook down. Slow down the video and look for the message. It says press B1 ( mapped key ) to keep the hook down for the carrier landing under extreme conditions
The orange circle is the angle of attack indicator. When your angle of attack (AOA) is the correct angle you will see the orange circle. When you're AOA is too low you'll see the red arrow below the circle. Green arrow your AOA is too high. The glide slope indicator is the yellow square at the top and when aligned with the green circles that means you are on the glide slope.
You talked about mentour pilot a few vids ago, he has a video instructing how you as a passenger could land a 737. You should check it out and try it out in the sim! Love the flight content man!keep it going!
one reason why you most likely didn't catch the wire when landing into bora bora was because your Angle of Attack was in the red not the green. if you kept it in the green like you did landing in san Francisco you would have landed on the wire. Grate video man keep it up
The angle you were hitting the cables wasn't 90 degrees to the cable, and you were hitting the cables to the right of the center line. I'd try adjusting your final approach a bit more to the left (because of the wind) I think that might be the problem.
He concentrated on going right to early as soon as his jet was in line with the carrier is when the wind was an issue his initial line is the right line it just needs the decent then a tail rudder strafe bringing the rear around at the final approach with the left wing dipped slightly using the cushion and coming in central it would also work to the right but with way many more adjustments to speed position if you hit them lines like that your jets going to pull apart and frisbee across the deck.i bet some pilots have landed in winds were the jet has landed on deck like it's got lifting thrusters
I think it’s caused by the wind ( the wind make you faster than normal so I think you need to go around STALL) , and the normal carrier landing speed is 150 KTS 14:22
There is nothing scarier than landing on a carrier...except landing at night on a carrier...except landing at night on carrier with bad weather. That's why Navy pilots eat raw egg when finishing flight training, to get the balls back down were they belong after coming up to the throat when landing. Yours truly, your IAF pilot friend.
The game isn’t bringing you in low, you’re actually low on the glide slope. When the yellow slope is up it means you’re below it, when it’s down it means you’re above it.
On the right hand side of the cockpit you have a round switch with three points. Those are for the lights inside the cockpit. Turning those on helps a lot with visibility!
Hey that orange circle and red and green arrows is your AOA. It doesn't have anything to do with your airspeed. It just shows you have the right amount of nose up to land on the carrier.
Love it, i hope you will try DCS at some point ;). There you will have proper training on how to do it ;). Either from players or from tutorials. 1 hint, look at the glidepath. the little circle with the 3 lines attached shows you where the current flight path is and where your plane will impact if you dont change anything. So put that thing on the cables more less or middle of runway. Put the E bracket on middle of the glide path and you should have about alpha 8° on the left of the HUD.
In reality, it's pretty rare to have to do a carrier landing in a crosswind cause they always point the boat in the wind for recovery ops. But on approach, get that Velocity Vector (the little circle with the three lines) dead center in that E bracket, and you'll be perfect angle of attack. At that point, and this is the hard part, use throttle for up/down. Stick ONLY for side to side. This will be hard to learn and will feel counterintuitive. If you pitch up or down with the stick, you'll wreck your AoA and the hook won't grab the arresting wire. Then keep that vector mark on the end of the runway all the way to the deck. And Don't flare! navy jets smack the deck at around 700 feet per minute. You'll snag a good trap every time!
His videos are so good, they can be ised as game reviews, quality gameplay, and even tutorials (not counting the legit classes about what he is doing!)
Landing on the first try, you’ve earned my like today sir. What a fun mod. Good challenge. You content is really making me want to acquire a computer solely for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
That Bora Bora approach is definitely bugged. I tried it myself with various approach speeds and AoA and the tailhook would grab a 2 or 3-wire each time, but fail to hold on. The other locations didn't have this issue.
Loving your content , first time landing was spectacular, I just became your sub today , keep up the good work bro . At the Bora Bora you had to press B1 to force the hook down .
The indicator on the left of HUD isn't for your speed, it's your Angle of Attack (nose up and down}, green is your nose is too high, it is pointing down telling you to nose down, red nose too low and orange circle perfect.
The reason your aoa keeps moving is because it stands for angle of attack and because you keep movong ur plane slightly up slightly down it keeps saying too high or too low
If you look back at the video your not applying thrust on landing at Bora Bora. Great fun I hope you do more. Slainte 👍💚 P. S. I watched you complete the Dark Star & helped me finish it, so many thanks Bud.
What I ment was the unsuccessful landings your timing was out. I noticed that your successful landings you applied thrust. I mean this in a constructive way as I haven't landed successfully yet. Your flying was good & no offence ment. Hope that makes sense, Bud. Slainte 👍💚
I got here bc of TG Maverick lol. But I agree with everyone in the comments, your flight sim content is great. Gonna check out your other content @TmarTn2. Keep up the good work.
Hi Trevor, very cook video.... is it possible for you to do an explanation on downloading and actually installing the mod? I have been to that site, and I don't see instructions. Subscribed. Thanks!
what microsoft flight simulator actually meant by set power to mil, is to put on full throttle when you land, so that if thw wire snaps youll have enough speed to go up in the air again. its just something they do in real life.
The reason the hook did not connect was because when you landed your tail was to close to the ground, so the hook bounced and the arrester cables came off.
I looked up the definition In naval aviation, a bolter occurs when an aircraft attempting an arrested landing on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier touches down, but fails to catch an arrestor cable and come to a stop. Bolter aircraft accelerate at full throttle and become airborne in order to go-around and re-attempt the landing.
Trev I have a request. A long-format video of just flying this plane in inclement weather. I like the sound of the rain and the hum inside the cockpit.
My uncle served on the uss hornet cv-12 he told me stories about when a plane landed the cables that stop the jet broke because the jet came it to fast the cable snapped back and took someone's legs off
I could watch bro play this all day no cap I just wish u would do more wit the planes like see how high they can go how fast it could get to ah location I'm just saying
hey trevor. i've been watching so much game vids now and those i enjoy most are when you play some MMO 1st shooter games. like fortnite Pubg and so on. isnt it soon time to get on a game like that again ? maybe even stream. that would be cool
You should aim the aircraft carrier with the small ball on the HUD. If the small ball is at the aircraft carrier you will land at the exact point which the ball aim.
You should play vtol vr it’s a very easy to learn game but also complex you can do dogfights and carrier landing and vertical takeoff with a f35 modeled plane
The problem with bora bora is that you were to high and the wounds were pushing against the tailhook, so the game wanted you to be lower to avoid winds. But because you were to high you were off center and to high, moreover the rudder when you were landing pushed you off course.
The second one you grabbed under 100 airspeed every other time you were over 100 you must be breaking the line also you have to try to hit the first 1 because the other 2 are mainly there incase you break the first
The reason you failed the Bora bora landing a few times was because your angle of attack was too low. You need a bit of AoA to lower the tail hook onto the deck. When you land early and the nose comes down you lose all of your AoA and the hook jumps over the arresting wires. You need to keep the high AoA of dump it on the deck by lowering the power to idle.
You have to press B1 when landing under extreme conditions to keep the hook down. Slow down the video and look for the message. It says press B1 ( mapped key ) to keep the hook down for the carrier landing under extreme conditions
ive been saying that for a while
I can't be the only one that wants to see a VR-mode carrier landing...
already thought of that and tried, it was so hard but i still eventually got it!
ikr
He liked it so we know he'll do it :)
i want to see it too but its gonna be hard to do it
VR makes it IMMENSELY easier since you have actual depth
man fr looks like bob from top gun: maverick.
@ihaventchosenanameyet how’s that a spoiler lmao
@@quofs6805 yeah did he watch the movie or what, it’s been out for more than a month now
Maybe its bob.... who knows
@ihaventchosenanameyet that’s not his fault though lmao, talking about the movie a month after it’s release is fine
Looks like Bob, sounds like Hangman
Feels great to see u back best RUclipsr 💯
The orange circle is the angle of attack indicator. When your angle of attack (AOA) is the correct angle you will see the orange circle. Trevor is the reason I have learned so much about jets and planes. Thanks so much for the vids and knowledge. Lol!!!
I wouldn't rely on Trev for this kind of stuff but ok.
If you wanna watch *real* aviation content, to learn *accurate* info, don't watch this guy, watch real aviation youtubers.
I mean you do have to remember he calls a tailhook a 'landy stick' lmao
@@GearUpAviation-YT Wow. Nice way to bust somebody's balls.
what are you like 14?

In extreme weather you have to hold B1 to keep the hook down.
Woohooo he shouted out the *Bay Area* 18:26 man I lived most my life in the Yay Area!!! miss that place. thx Trev!
the detail in this game is pretty amazing! I dabble pretty heavy with amateur astronomy and even the stars look correct! That's really awesome
To be fair you did very well
than the last windiest video you did
Congrats Trevor
Nice! Glad to see more of this. Modding is so impressive in these games haha (even if they're sometimes broken haha)
I'm LOVING these flight sim vids
Wrevor Wartin
Trevor has came a long way.
Keep it 100

Always ignored this videos but after watching this am going to watch all
Hell yea finally getting to see some night time action!
Enjoy seeing all the awesome places in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
22:17 - 22:21 Me when Trevor uploads a Flight Sim video. Also you definitely have to upload part 2!!!
The game isn’t bringing you in low, you’re actually low on the glide slope. When the yellow slope is up it means you’re below it, when it’s down it means you’re above it.
Trev talking about what he does off camera at Bora Bora… we already know my guy ;)

Have the MS flight sim guys do a full case 1. Haha
10:16 I’m pretty sure those are flaps, ailerons are the ones that change your rolls, which are the ones that move on the wings when you roll a plane.
I think with bora bora that you need to get the hook out just before you land (so like 2 or 3 second before you are touching the ship deck).
Tmartn the Landy stick is called the tail hook 😂 but I love the term u maid up for it. Keep up the good work
watching your videos always bring me to a smile!
I did 4 year in the navy and look at this bring back so many memories i used to love watching the Pilots land the jets on the airstrip
Man Trevor, Making me wanna fire up Flight Simulator again 😄🤙🏽
Keep up the Flight Sim videos😇 and that bora bora carrier landing is deffo broken, i tested that too
This man makes my day every single time I watch his videos, I friggen love your vids.
Looks fun Idk how to find the extreme landings tho

Also, "On Speed" is Navy talk for correct angle of attack. Your actual airspeed almost doesn't matter.
Tmartn I'd love to see some more dark star videos where you can for example go from LA to new York.. or new York to Europe.
His videos are so good, they can be ised as game reviews, quality gameplay, and even tutorials (not counting the legit classes about what he is doing!)

@11:14 sounded like when Tmartn finished his duty inside the bathroom
please keep making these plane series!!! it-s pretty enjoyable!
Yo Tmar these flight sim videos are goated thank u sir
Absolutely wanna see more!

Flight sim series= im addicted. Keep up the awesome vids
THESE VIDS ON MSFS ARE THE BEST PLS MORE!
I used to be in the Marines but I flew out of KMKG in a Cessna 150 and it’s a blast to fly in a real plane
Yo Trev that Bomber is Fye🔥🔥
You the man.. love these videos
Boi literally a maverick no joke keep up the good content

Love the fighter jet vids u keep it up it’s AMAZING 🤛🤛👌
Top Gun Maverick baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My official go to for all things flight Sim 💯
Just started playing this game and man I tried a 747 landing lmao yea not there yet with that beast 🤣great content tho man love it

It's fun watching the MSFS series, but I've been waiting for the Snowrunner series please start it again
The reason your aoa keeps moving is because it stands for angle of attack and because you keep movong ur plane slightly up slightly down it keeps saying too high or too low

what microsoft flight simulator actually meant by set power to mil, is to put on full throttle when you land, so that if thw wire snaps youll have enough speed to go up in the air again.
its just something they do in real life.
I wanted to ask what throttle and rudder you use for the simulator
You were just coming in way too hot on bora bora, cables can’t stop a jet going 120 knots on landing 😂
Got me having bad visuals when I close my eyes of you buck naked on Bora Bora's beach 😂
What joystick do you use? Which one would you recommend for the Xbox series s
The reason the hook did not connect was because when you landed your tail was to close to the ground, so the hook bounced and the arrester cables came off.
I love this and you gave a good prees on to start makeing vidios
hi i was JUST WONDERING WHAT YOKE AND SETUP DO YOU USE THX
Love your gaming videos. When are you gonna do more house flipper pets?

Great flying! Next thing we need to have is areal refueling I guess =)

for future reference Trev, the "landing stick thingy" is called the tail hook 😂😂😂
I could watch bro play this all day no cap I just wish u would do more wit the planes like see how high they can go how fast it could get to ah location I'm just saying

hey man i love your vids keep it up
Trev I think you have to have the yellow square lined up with green dots, I''m no professional or a pilot but, that maybe your issue.
Trev, you should try out DCS. Its difficult so watch some youtube tutorials for the plane you want to fly.
The second one you grabbed under 100 airspeed every other time you were over 100 you must be breaking the line also you have to try to hit the first 1 because the other 2 are mainly there incase you break the first
It’s windy soo you have to to a “cross wind landing”
Love the flight sims! Keep it up
On the wings are the flaps, rudders on the tail and theb ailerons are the back ones
If you're enjoying the F-18 you can also learn how to use the guns on it inside of DCS World.
good stuff, another flight sim vid!
What yolk u using and where u get it?
Could you do some more airliner things ?
im sorry to say this, i was wiping my arse as you went past the toilet window... lol to fast and to high. bouncy bouncy.... oooops end of carrier
Love the vid man
I love it!!!
Where can I get the mod?
