Long time Toto fan, but gotta say this version of Toto ( even with the heartbreaking loss of the incredible talents Jeff and Mike) was the best version of the band ever, in my humble opinion. . Kudos to Tony Spinner. What a great underrated and talented asset they never capitalized on? Best vocals in the band. He is still out there so please support this talent. While David P is also a gifted player I love the way Greg Philinganes "blends" with the band. Best Toto vocals ever. Simon is incredible. No matter how you shuffle the deck, this is certainly the most amazing bunch of musicians in one place at one time. Not to leave Luke out but he is always so on point, its just expected at this point, lol! Come back to New York gentlemen and thank you!
I don’t any other band had a collection of so many recorded artists on one stage. All of these guys are collectively responsible for over a billion sales easily.
Tony Spinner is an amazing singer and guitar player. Only for this gig I would never have heard of him and ow thanks to Toto I have discovered the Tony Spinner Band! Class!
It's hard and not hard at the same time. What he is playing is triplets with a kickdrum hit and then a double stroke on the toms. That in itself isn't that hard, but double strokes on toms are harder than on a snare since the head is tuned lower and thus provides a lot less rebound. And what makes this even harder is the fact that he uses a hot-rod sticks, which also provide significantly less rebound than a normal stick. I couldn't play it and honestly I don't know how he did it :D
I think he laughed because he accidentely reversed the shakers rythm and then switched back to normal because Leland and Steve were looking at him surprised xp
I've heard and seen the concert in Paris in 2007 maybe a hundred times and I still get goosebumps! It remains my favorite concert with the best live cast of Toto ever!
This is such a great tight version of this song. All are virtuosos at what they do. First time hearing Tony Spinner sing a song with Toto on his own. Loved it. He brought a different sound to the song. And Lee Sklar’s bass, especially at the end, was cool.
So nice and refreshing to see one of the biggest icons of rock music jammin' a song and having a ball while doing so! Truely something you miss in most modern day acts, these guys just still got it!
People people listen to yourselves, some players move on some have died, you can't stop singing the songs just because of that, enjoy the music, it will never be the same as it was, but it's still good and not forgotten.
Top tier collection of talent at every position on this tour. Throughout three decades and more, seems that the only prerequisite to joining Toto was that you had to be gifted as a musical genius somehow.
They look so relaxed and enjoying themselves during this song and it looks like they might have done a little improvising at the end. And Tony said he didn’t consider himself to be a singer. You could have fooled me.
I totally agree with you. He is fantastic. I think the double pedal adds a lot to the fill, but I agree that the fills he does on the toms with one hand are brilliant. :-)
Toto’s original lineup (Kimball, Lukather, Paich, Hungate, S. Porcaro, J. Porcaro) was their best. That being said, I have a lot of appreciation for this lineup as well. No matter how few original members this lineup contained (Lukather and Kimball were the only originals at the time), they’re still comprised of virtuoso musicians, and that is what Toto is about.
Who the ....is 'Vinnie'? Oh you forgot? After 5 years? Never mind. I don't even know the names of the girls i've f. the last 5 years annymore..So... Live ur life bro.@@slimjohn3351
that band was and is still just loaded with talent. they are like a dream team ...there is no limit to them. they might be ready to break out into a stones like second half of their careers. not saying they have to prove much. but when your an all star band why not
I love this concert! many many free improvisations! very talented musicians! It’s a pity that Bobby is no longer in the best shape and you can hear the correction of his voice in the autotune
I love this acoustic version which is different from most other live versions on the net. and Tony Spinner gives a little Dave Mustaine color to Toto, which I like too.
Yeah, a combination of nice left hand rolls and bass drum! He's a hell of a drummer! I'm sure the reason he smiled there is coz he got a nice "wtf-look" from one of the others! Lol!!
I like how Simon accidently reversed the maracas rythm at 1:29 and so Leland and Steve looked at him like "What?" then Simon switched back to normal and I think that's because of this little mistake he laughed at Steve at 1:40
Notice that drum fill Simon did at 1:37 LOL He did that with 1 freakin hand. Then grinned and said "yeah I did that" Cant see it but it was 1 handed. Cause he had that shaker in his right hand. Total bad to the bone that Simon Phillips!
Bobby Kimbal had a great voice but I can’t forget about the time in the early 90’s that he came on tour to Mexico and presented it as Toto. I went expecting to see Steve, David, Simon and Mike who was still touring with them at the time, but nope. It was just Bobby Kimbal and a bunch of hired guns. The performance was good but definitely got scammed. The only good thing is that I was able to get in touch the promoter before the show and he offered to give me back my money and let me keep the tickets so I wouldn’t make a big fuss about it which I gladly accepted. So I didn’t feel that cheated, but after that, I see Kimbal and the word Scam immediately comes to mind.
The world needs reminding how damn cool this is and how great Tony was on vocals!!

Wholeheartedly agree with what you've said. The piano and the bassline - such chemistry!
Tony lives near my home town and I recently started taking guitar lessons from him. He is a great person and sounds amazing on this song.
@@winn4music243 im jealous
I don’t any other band had a collection of so many recorded artists on one stage. All of these guys are collectively responsible for over a billion sales easily.
For me the 35th anniversary line up was my favourite but I keep coming back to this version of stop loving you. There's just something about it.
1:36 epic drum roll on one hand, amazing simon!
@Mladen Zagorac Other way around, KLL.
@@flops0317 yes its KLL here
Yes..ofcourse. it's Simon Philips! Think twice lol..
It’s my birthday today.
I decided to treat myself to this jewel. This version is perfection.
October 2nd. 2024
Agree. Happy belated birthday.
If I wish you happy birthday now, is it still okay?
Thank you!
i was fortunate enough to see perform live two of the best bass players, Lee Sklar and Mike Porcaro
Lucky you man, how was it?
Greg Phillinganes is simply amazing. what a feel! what a precision!
Tony Spinner is an amazing singer and guitar player. Only for this gig I would never have heard of him and ow thanks to Toto I have discovered the Tony Spinner Band! Class!
+darren brereton Same here Tony is the real deal
Sklaaaaaaarrr!!! What a musician!!
That drum fill is so insane.. I love it :D
It's hard and not hard at the same time. What he is playing is triplets with a kickdrum hit and then a double stroke on the toms. That in itself isn't that hard, but double strokes on toms are harder than on a snare since the head is tuned lower and thus provides a lot less rebound. I couldn't play it and honestly I don't know how he did it :D
Simon playing it like a BOSS! (that fill at 1:35 and shaking all the way through)
And laughing out loud at 1:40 - "dude, that was sooooo easy, what are you talkin' about?"
It's unbelievable no! must be triplets with the double bass as one hand is occupied by the shaker indeed
I think he laughed because he accidentely reversed the shakers rythm and then switched back to normal because Leland and Steve were looking at him surprised xp
I come back every few months looking for this jewel. Best version of “Stop loving you” hands down.
Toto is top class.
I've heard and seen the concert in Paris in 2007 maybe a hundred times and I still get goosebumps! It remains my favorite concert with the best live cast of Toto ever!
True👏
This is such a great tight version of this song. All are virtuosos at what they do. First time hearing Tony Spinner sing a song with Toto on his own. Loved it. He brought a different sound to the song. And Lee Sklar’s bass, especially at the end, was cool.
Perfection. End of story. Full stop. What music should be.
So nice and refreshing to see one of the biggest icons of rock music jammin' a song and having a ball while doing so! Truely something you miss in most modern day acts, these guys just still got it!
Love the way steve look to his band, he looks so proud of them
I love the piano improvisation.
+Yanick Norman Agree! Greg is a beast
Quite lovely when Simon Phillips smiles at someone while shakin and percussin
All these people are doing what they love best
that is real great music. The whole concert was a masterpice.
People people listen to yourselves, some players move on some have died, you can't stop singing the songs just because of that, enjoy the music, it will never be the same as it was, but it's still good and not forgotten.
It's this kind of band that we should see to the Music Awards, that! That's MUSIC! Groove urs guys! :p
This song I will hear until the end of my days. TOTO forever !!!
Top tier collection of talent at every position on this tour. Throughout three decades and more, seems that the only prerequisite to joining Toto was that you had to be gifted as a musical genius somehow.
In my humble opinion this was the last of the great Toto. Gladly I was fortunate enough to see this tour!
Great song, great jazzy version too!
And of course what a great singer tony spinner!!!! My favourite
So many talented person in one band.. amazing!!!
oh this version is PURE GENIUS
I love this version it, the singer, now not any more in TOTO, is the best im this song.
this a perfect example of great pop music
Damn!!! Never knew Tony Spinner can blow like this!!! Awesome!!!
Best band composition of all time! #Amazing!
Love this version... Cool!
Amazing live performance! Sounds great!
Simon Philips ,c un régal de le voir jouer !!!❤😂
1:40 'yeah steve u heard right - I did it with one hand'
Hell yeahh
Simon Phillips can't be human. The GOAT in my opinion.
Even Mike was an awesome bass player.
Simon...🥰Fcking the best drummer EVER
Unreal!! That cheeky smile to Steve.
Yeah, with Simon Phillips in the band, you really don't need percussion. The best drummer of all time, at all levels.
Tell that to Vinnie
Simon Top!!
Simon #1!!
Definitely an amazing drummer. Best of all time? That’s your opinion
Who the ....is 'Vinnie'? Oh you forgot? After 5 years? Never mind. I don't even know the names of the girls i've f. the last 5 years annymore..So... Live ur life bro.@@slimjohn3351
Love the keyboard works
Lee nods in approval. Best bassist ever.
He is the one and only Leland Sklar. On bass. He has a feel that is only replicated, not duplicated. Genesis, Cobham, oh my the list is long.
Dat vocal... Dat bassline... Dat drummings...
Seeing them Next Month...YEEESSSS!!! Can't wait!
that band was and is still just loaded with talent. they are like a dream team ...there is no limit to them. they might be ready to break out into a stones like second half of their careers. not saying they have to prove much. but when your an all star band why not

Simon's touches sounds so sweet
I love Simon! Amazing playing 1:35
great voice
Tony's voice sounds comfortable!!
I love this acoustic version which is different from most other live versions on the net. and Tony Spinner gives a little Dave Mustaine color to Toto, which I like too.
I love this version. :)
Yeah, a combination of nice left hand rolls and bass drum! He's a hell of a drummer! I'm sure the reason he smiled there is coz he got a nice "wtf-look" from one of the others! Lol!!
At 1:38, you can see Steve Lukather staring at him when he finishes the fill. If Steve gives you one of those looks, you’re more than a legend.
Greg Phillinganes. pure class.
Tony Spinner is just great!
if this song had an a$$, Tony kicked it so hard. well done
best version
Simon Phillips LIKE A BOSS !!!
Simon you best of the best drum god
great music... how i love toto....
love ,can't stop lovin' you TOTO!!!
omg the bass line sickest
One-handed Simon Philips! Wow!!
Totallity
thanks to Steve Lukather that somehow he has found the new talent people to continue the amazing magic of TOTO!
+Flaco Alvarado many of the people that have been in toto went on to have success
so true, but spinner was brought to the band by david paich
Agree
GOD Bless You 🎸🎸🎸
Tony Spinner's voice sounds so much like Steve Perry's, from Journey :o 2:09
arthur2008100 Tony is a better singer than Perry
Did I say he wasn't?
+arthur2008100 no i wasn't saying you were :)
Ian Steele Still, do you agree with what i said?

nice....reel good band....
top skills
TOTO rulez!!!!!!!!
tony spinner did a good version of this
left hand - left hand - foot , is not that difficult - but it's the bass, piano and drum fill TOGEHTHER which makes this part so genius
tony spinner the best!!!
Notice that drum fill Simon did at 1:37 LOL He did that with 1 freakin hand. Then grinned and said "yeah I did that" Cant see it but it was 1 handed. Cause he had that shaker in his right hand. Total bad to the bone that Simon Phillips!
❤❤❤
I wish they would've never stopped playing
Bobby Kimbal had a great voice but I can’t forget about the time in the early 90’s that he came on tour to Mexico and presented it as Toto. Santa Claus on bass, always wondered what he did during the off season..
relimes Apparently touring with Phil Collins and Toto and crushing the bass. 😂
In his freetime he acts like Leland Sklar 😆
