Furtheremore most of the realistic look is just Radiosity, you could recreate it in Quake engine 3 from almost a decade prior and it would look almost as good. What makes it actually good is the outstanding art direction.

Well just bought game on sale less then 5 bucks on steam. Dang graphics are pretty good for an old game but my computer is 8 - 9 years old as well. Want to build a new one but due to covid its expensive now. Anyway ... playing found another way ... could not do the same here ... no sticken custom settings

The music is excellent, but my least favorite level in a game that I consider to be a perfect masterpiece. The climb is well-designed and calming, and there is no one shooting at you, I just prefer the free-run parts of the game where you are in steady motion across the city.
This is one of my all time favourite games. The serene soundtrack. There's no overt use of dialogue so you can actually take in the atmosphere. I love stringing together commands. I miss this era of gaming. This was the golden age for me. I wish DICE and other AAA devs still made games like this
1:00.18 That's easily one of the scariest images I've ever seen in a video game. No Lovecraftian monsters, no survival-horror stuff. Just a 500-ton train speeding at 80 mph towards your face. The subway is one of the scariest parts in the whole game. Mirror's Edge is awesome. I hope we'll get a genuine sequel sometime soon (not another prequel).

As far as I can see, it's true that many games have much better graphics. All the developer team need to do is to use the modern graphics and apply it to this game.

I was laughing my ass of when I played the ending. I was like, oh must be the hardest boss fight. And I saw a red bar on that helicopter and then boom! It's done.
The server room before it was the final boss fight. It took me well over an hour! Then again I was going for the "Test of Faith" (don't shoot anybody) achievement so it might not have been so hard for others.
I really loved this game and it actually got me into free running in real life. I got rather good at it and would love to get security or cops called on us and then lose them by getting on a roof and jumping to a street light or a stair case and then disappearing. The only thing that throws me off about this guys playstyle is that he strafes side so side a lot which is not really how people sprint and it's really odd.
I've never felt so much hate towards a game like when I played this. No interface, stupidest logic ever and nearly impossible parts even on the EASIEST difficulty. What's even the point of the "emergency shutdown/open buttons" when the thing starts/closes like 5 seconds later. Turned off the subway fans. Ran across the room because the wall walk is just too hard and I always screw it up. The fan are running even faster.

For anyone who wants to play this game on their pc, PLEASE disable PhysX in the video settings. It causes a bunch of lag because it seems to use outdated files in the game directory. But if you wanna keep PhysX, just go into the game files and delete the PhysX files from the game.
Back when games could be fun games and at the same time weren’t overly simply by design. Now *most* games are as simple as possible to appeal to a younger audience and in turn get them hooked! In more ways than one too.
I wish they made a third mirrors edge I was thinking, it would take place after the Catalyst events and Ksecs new leader Isabel would just hunt down Faith and Icarus, but with the Help of a Neutral Runner, named Louis, he is not part of the Cabal but he is a Runner, but Neutral, he could either be a Good or bad guy, Another Runner gang named Blue Ravens have a Mission to Kill Isabel Kruger but the Cabal are gonna stop them from letting it happen, Faith will Find the Neutral Runner Louis and make him join the Cabal to help Faith and Icarus to Save Isabel, Louis has a Choice to either Listen to Faith or Ignore her and Hunt down Isabel. And If Louis made that choice Faith has to stop him from doing that, and Louis wants to Kill Her to make the City Free. That’s what I want in the next Mirrors Edge Game After Catalyst
