David "Dread" Hinds (born 15 June 1956) is a British musician, the founding member, rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist for the Grammy Award-winning reggae band Steel Pulse.
I Don't Camouflage chats with David Hinds at his studio in NYC while he was recording his new album "Mass Manipulation". David shares his childhood memories, his favorite patterns, and his migration experiences.

Saw Steel Pulse in concert in NYC as a teenager and was immediately hooked on their music. Played their albums every weekend and loved David’s voice. As a result, my adult kids now know every single word of their music from that period. Really enjoyed hearing about his childhood in this film.

Met david in charleston over 30 years ago we became real good friends. He is a genuine and a lot of fun to be around.I hope he knows that he makes me proud to be a Rastafarian. Sending much love your way. Up close & right in. Your face .

Saw Steel Pulse in concert in Trinidad in the 80's. Love their music.
I saw them at Spektakula forum on Frederick street, in the 80's, when all the crowd stood up on the chairs and some stormed the stage.
The spliffs were being shared freely too!

Oh man... I saw Steel Pulse so many times live back in the incredible 80's! Their music energized and fed my soul, and they still do! I listened to them in my teens, and I listen to them now in my 50's! Best reggae band EVER! Thanks for posting!

Yes they just released a new album “Mass Manipulation” and are currently on tour! They are amazing and their energy is incredible.

I picked up a used vinyl copy of Earth Crisis at 16. It was a hard time moving from small fishing community to NYC. I think natural talent and honesty of David is still something special.
