Case bought David Brown in 1972 and had the David Brown name also on the Case tractors. In 1974 the David Brown name was dropped and just Case used and the color scheme was changed to power white and power red

I just enjoy the move that the paint colors are power white and power red.

And on the actual david brown tractors at first they had DAVID BROWN wrote in big letters case in small letters than after some time CASE in big letters David brown in small letters till they finally just wrote case on them

It was a long time ago but I think we ran a Case 2470 on our farm in Lincolnshire, England. What I see in the video matches what I remember, though some details, such as lights, could be different.
My father learned his ploughing with horses, and did his last ploughing with that tractor, which sums up how the world changed in a lifetime.

Pretty amazing! How far technology has changed farming

There was a correlation between David Brown and Case I believe for the foreign market, I believe the roots go hand in hand with England. Nice 2470, really like those old tractors, they were the best.

It’s just loud and mean and full of power. Just a fun old iron piece of equipment.

Those would have been good times. I think a Case Unimog would be one of legend!

We have the same early version case 2470 as what you have. Desert sand in color with the same David Brown stickers on it. The only controversy is that a lot of people do not know the reason for it. I'm not going to go into the details because they all have phones 🙄 and so they can figure it out by asking the damn phone. Trust me, it will tell them! Our local caseIH dealer in Seymour, WI says that our 2470 belongs in a museum but what the hell would it do in there? It runs great, shifts great, and pulls great. I fixed the ac, put in a Jensen HD stereo with new speakers, new cb, new antennas, lights, etc. I'm gonna put a new cab kit in it this fall and probably tint the windows to help cut down on glare. I also put a muffler from a 4690 on it as it is much larger with a whole lot less restriction. You can really hear it bark from quite a way out. It really compliments our 2590.

That's such a myopic view - it belongs in a museum. That dealer's an idiot for saying that. If it still runs well and responds to the usual basic maintenance, it belongs in the field, doing what it does best. Absolute classic machine. The colour scheme is the early version, whereas I think from 1972/3, onward, it was changed to the red and white scheme which looks equally good.

@jamesbarbour8400 I guess I forgot to mention that my uncle had a 2670 in the power white/case orange 🍊 color scheme. Probably around a 75 maybe 76. He farmed about 2 miles away in basically sandy soil whereas we have swamp, clay, sand all smorgasbord together. He sold his to his next door neighbor right after I bought ours and then stupidly asked why I didn't buy his when he never told me he was going to sell it! Really? Now it just sits outside 😐 with the hood off, generally with a flat 😳 tire or two, and then gets used for field work once or twice a year 🤔. At least it gets that. I remember using years ago and the seat is some damn old canvas cover thing that looks like it was stolen from a blown 😅 up minesweeper. The AC drains were plugged and it was like you were tropical rain 🌧 forest inside the cab. Oh well, at least 🤷 it's not in the scrap yard yet, although our local yard is only 🙄 😉 about 18 miles away so we don't have to go too far for parts if we need them.

@@repairmanjoe8081 Hi and thank you for your reply. That's a real sad situation your tractor has ended up in - sorry to hear. Glad that you've decided to keep it, rather than simply weighing it in for scrap. Quite iconic tractors those 4 wheel steer jobs, and I really like the styling, plus, at least going by RUclips videos I've watched, they're quite the beast out in the field too. A real shame what happened to the Company ultimately, the 80s were a very rough time for all tractor manufacturers. Hope you get a few more good years out of your tractor. 👍

@jamesbarbour8400 The 2470 that I talked about in the first reply is mine (the desert sand/case orange 🍊) the 2670 I spoke of used to belong to my uncle, now our neighbor owns it. My 2470 isn't leaving as long as I'm alive and will only be improved upon until it looks better than new! And you're right, these things are beasts in the field. Our case tractors also include our 2590, our 1030, and a gas case 400 at home. We have been farming since 1971 in Oneida, WI. We milked cows until 2018. Had to sell the milk cows 🐄 because I needed both hips replaced and my dad was 80 at the time. Getting help was a complete nightmare 😫. By then we were down to the worst of the worst employees ever. We now raise replacement cows, beef critters, and cash crop.

@@repairmanjoe8081 hi again, thank you for the further details. You mention about your Case 2590,1030 and 400 Gas models, again great machines, solid as a rock. I presume since you state that your 400 is a Gasoline model, that the other two are Diesel ? The 2590 must be, as that series were introduced in 1979 - pretty much everything was Diesel by then.
Terribly sorry to hear about the situation with your hips - absolute nightmare ! I know someone who has had both done fairly recently, though not at the same time. Certainly wasn't cheap. She went privste because of the ridiculously long NHS waiting times here in the UK. Both ops' went well, with no further issues - hope you've had similar luck. I understand about your hired help - good people are sadly hard to come by these days.
Hoping that your continuing enterprise goes well for you. 👍

The Sticker was put on by J I Case David Brown or Tenneco Inc who bought both companies, which resulted in case going to DB colours, later Tennco bought IH, and the whole fleet was rebranded RED

Tenneco, who owned Case back in the '70s, bought out David Brown. Then in the '80s , bought out the agricultural division of International Harvester. So yes Case and DB were connected.
