Well, folks, being unqualified to judge her Spanish diction, I listened also to her rendition of "I Feel Pretty" from _West Side Story_. She sings with a charming accent which is neither American or appropriate to the dramatic setting there -- and who cares? The artistry of her singing conveys the artistry of the music quite successfully, and South Africans have every reason for pride in her.
i can not comment of the diction, i dont speak spanish, but from what i heard here, she sings well enough that i can tell she sings in spanish here, so in my books she is doing well enough
My mother language is Spanish and is good her pronunciation but not the best. Her void is so beautiful and her technic supreme but I know that is not so easy for English speakers sing in Castellano.

What an awful thing to say about anyone, let alone this magnificent singer,. Every singer gets hot singing - it takes so much work. all praise for Ms Yende and surpassing her childhood in a small and rural town in SA. She is to be admired for her voice and her hard work, only hearing opera for the first time at aged 16, and deciding this is what she was determined to do with her life. She has gone out there and against all odds produces this magnificent voice, for us all to hear and enjoy.

Her voice is lovely, has a shimmer and effervecent quality! I'm a fan of her work, but her diction on this piece needs improvement.
