Thanks for the comment. Yes, I think Folio Society and the Strugatsky brothers alike did a great job on this one.

Thanks for the review, kind sir. I'm tempted to buy the limited edition. I love those McKean illustrations. His work for Gormenghast was also remarkable.

Thanks for commenting! Yes, McKean is doing a great job and the LE has the advantage of a cloth binding and a different design that might appeal more to some. If you do buy it, I hope you very much enjoy it.

While the limited edition is beautiful, I think I might actually prefer the exterior design of this standard edition. I'm not entirely sure why though. (actually, the more I look at it the more I start to come around to it. I think Id probably still choose the standard edition though, mainly because of the price)

Yes, I think this is a case where the standard and limited editions are pretty close in desirability in my opinion. Fore the SE clearly had the best value proposition but I can see why others would be drawn to the LE.

I pounced on this as soon as it was released - it's not often this book is released in hardback.

Yeah, it's great that Folio did this one and made such a good job of it.
