Did you remove the key from the ignition at all during this whole process? I followed Exaclty what you said and I’m not getting a count down and my auto start never kicks on
Yup key was in the off position the whole time but I left the key in the ignition in the off position the whole time. All door are shut tight and it’ll tell me that auto start is enabled. But never does the 30 second countdown. Next thing you know I’m waking up freezing because the auto start never kick on
Try cycling key on and of but dont start it then activate it see if that helps if not might have a issue with autostart system and have to get it checked out
@@itellyouthetruthforever8691 no problem and set temp u hit power on left side if it a smart air like current truck and have up and down arrows for temp and right button cycles thru auto ,heat , and cool
Does this work when you leave the truck. I need it to run and stay on just to keep the batteries charged then turn off. My freightliner had this feature but I can't get this 579 to do it.
@@Kidsmush my autostart doesn't work at all.i cleaned the hood latch switch off and all too and it still doesn't work, but plus, my 2019 579 does not have the smart air system or whatever its called in the sleeper. I have the crappy little bunk heater but not the smart air system everyone is talking about and I've tried legit EVERYTHING and its a no go. My truck has been in the shop 6 weeks out of the past 8 months and I just dropped it off AGAIN yesterday fir some SCR fault with my power reduced because of it. I was regional but am back to OTR so I'm hoping my company just gives me a new truck already bc I'm literally not making any money and my cell phone and 2 credit card payments are both due 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I have the same problem. I’ve noticed just now it attempted to crank, and then gave up saying, “Auto Start Disabled. PTO Engaged.” Idk what to do with that.
Mine started up just like you stated it should. Thanks.

Key should be in off position when u hit auto start button for 3 second's
And also make sure all doors and hood are shut and latched

Should if it set with auto start light on
Idk if I did it right on my truck. I did the countdown and all and it kicked the power on a little after but never started up
Same I have a 2020 so what I did was turn the key all the way to the left and it worked

Mine doesn't work like urs. I have to have the bunk heater on the whole time b4 it starts and it rarely does start on its own b4 killing my batteries
