Ordered this one for doing warhammer prints (mostly additional stuff like weapons, shoulderplates, helmets etc.) and some epic scale models. This video has been incredibly helpful. Cure box, printer and 1 kg of resin cost me 165 eur.
@@himanshrasal well it's okay. I had bad resin so that has to be taken into account, Managed to even print some small tanks. BUT it was my first printer, didn't know that using screen protector is basically a must. So I had a resin leak that cured couple of times. While trying to scrape it I destroyed the protective film on the screen. So printer is basically not useable until I replace the screen. But that's 40-50 bucks, got Mono X2 for 175 bucks instead, and I've been using that for past few months.
Impressive! And I like how you make resin printing look easy, because I was hesitating in resin printing because I thought it was so messy and complicated!
You do need to be prepared for the cleaning but this is just some gloves and old food trays or containers and an old toothbrush. If you get water washable resin, it's even easier.
@@RickyImpey thank you! I have e resin printer from a friend lying around for months now, mainly because I’m afraid of the fumes… I will make an enclosure and give it a go!
You can pour it back into the bottle if you use a fine filter or you can leave it in the vat for a little while but it's advisable to 'stir' it a little before using it again.
Rick is right, and you can get lids for the vat on many printers too, just measure it first. And don't be like me, Rick is right about this too; stir the resin that you leave in the vat. It's a good idea to pour it back too because humidity will affect it.
I do find it frustrating when Geeetech sends my 3D printer with missing or wrong parts. When I reach out for replacements, the process takes too long and sometimes they send the wrong parts again Geeetech should be the last option for 3D printer
The bundle with the cleaning unit's shipping price is more than the cost of the equipment... ships from China, no US stock on the cleaning unit version 2
I saw this printer on a few other youtube channels and purchased one. My first 3 prints failed. I found other resources guiding me to the same cone model you showed. I greatly appreciate you stating what exposure times you used, this I'm sure will help me get a successful print. As I have had little to no information to adjust the default printer settings.
No such luck.I am on print 5 with nothing tangible except for a 1 to 5mm thick square on stuck to the FEP sheet. I have adjusted the base exposure to 20 seconds and slowed down the z axis lift speed. I leveled the print bed again. I also tightened the FEP sheet screws.@@7cov
I do get frustrated with Geeetech's customer service, which often fails to provide timely support. When my Geeetech writer board burned out during assembly, Geeetech didn't help, leaving me with a broken printer. I will never buy a Geeetech again!

Resin is around £25-30 ($30-40) for 1 litre. You can get a lot of prints out of a bottle. There isn't any included when you buy the Alkaid unless you specifically add it.
Hi! I just saw your comment, and I would like to ask what kind of issue you're having. I'm currently troubled by a *Memory error code: M_11800* at around 30% of my first print (the pre-sliced Eiffel Tower that comes along with the USB stick).
I do have a hard time getting timely responses from Geeetech's customer service. It often takes a long time for them to respond, and when they do, their help is inadequate. I am not happy with Geeetech. I don't buy again!

It sometimes breaks my prints or damages the bed when I try to release them. Shrotly, I will NEVER BUY a Geeetech again. I don't reccomend
I do notice low-quality parts in the Geeetech with linear bearings rattling and stepper motors making noise after a few months. It feels like the components don't hold up well. You can find a better brand. I never buy a Geeetech again. Never!
When you buy a Geeetech, think twice! Their customer support is awful. I have never seen such terrible customer service! I send them a few emails about my problems. What did they do? They copied-pasted my questions and sent them back to me. It happened many times. (I wish RUclips let me show a screenshot) Disrespectful! I couldn't solve my problem.
They all make those elaborate prints well. Ask it to make a gt2 sprocket with shields on both sides. No chance. How about a gear? Never going to work.
