If you'd told me during the height of the Avengers-movie era that *HAWKEYE* of all characters would end up having one of the best series of all of them, I woulda laughed in your face. But honestly, this show was an absolute Master Class in how to tell a story in just enough time- no filler, nothing drawn out too much, yet nothing felt rushed or sloppy- and straddle the line of comedy/drama perfectly.
This series did the best "passing off the torch" that I've seen in media. They even successfully passed on the partnership of Black Widow and Hawkeye to the new pair. Loved it.
That's a good way to look at that. I didn't really put too much thought into it, but now that u mention it, they have weaved the story very smoothly & not pushed onto viewers to accept as is, but rather as it would have naturally occured.❤
The main singer of the musical is actually a super famous broadway singer, Adam Pascal, who was in the original Broadway cast of Rent along with Indina Menzel and Taye Diggs. The fact they brought in real Broadway actors for it makes the entire musical gag even funnier and more absurd.
I’m so glad you guys have enjoyed this show. Personally my favorite of the marvel shows. I don’t think it’s a better all over show than Loki or WandaVision all in all, but I DO think it’s the most consistent tone wise. It knew what story it was wanting to tell and did so very efficiently. Touching on important corners of the Marvel Universe without diminishing the street level tone. Smart, emotional, deep, fun action, great chemistry with characters and I did quite enjoy the Tracksuits way more than I thought I would. Glad yall watched this my dudes!
WandaVision is still my favorite but this is definitely in the top 3 for me. Only issue is that it could've reasonably easily have been turned into a movie instead of a whole mini-series.
Nah definitely not the best mcu show I'd say wandavision is 1, 2 is loki, 3 is moon knight then maybe Hawkeye is 4th but not #1. It's definitely better than falcon and the winter soldier for sure and I'd don't count ms marvel
Yeah, Yelena and Kate was a highlight. But, also, yes, as the guys noted. We could see it wasn't just blaming Clint for her sister's death, but also both being jealous over the amount of time they had together and also simply a vessel that let her package up her hurt. Some good 'move/tv' therapy there on an otherwise 'lighter' show.
Spoiler alert: Don't forget the Avengers complex used to be a Stark owned shield storage facility which they showed in Ant-Man. There is a character called Bobbi Morris AKA mockingbird who was Clint Barton protege or previous partner before Natasha. The comic book accurate mockingbird is in the series agents of shield but another aspect of the character they gave to the MCU version of the character Laura Barton was the fact that after being partnered with Clint they got married which is why she understands what he has to do and explains all her contacts when researching Jack Duquesne. Also Jack is the MCU version of a character called the swordsmen who actually trained a Clint Barton with the sword before he became the Ronin. At one point in the comic books Echo took the persona of ronin which happened after she shot kingpin in the face just like in the comic books. Yes it is the same kingpin from the Netflix show but it's been 5 years after he was sentenced to prison so he had to rebuild his organization up with the low tier henchmen that he began in his criminal empire.
Go back to when the Avengers hid out at Clint's house. Tony Stark: That's an agent. I'm telling you she's an agent. The Agent # is Mockingbird's - who was once married to Hawkeye in the comics. The "secret identity" is different but who knows what was intended.
Kingpin is abnormally strong and resilient. He's never been easy to take out, even some of the other heros won't go 1v1 with him. He's also a mastermind and getting to him is never easy.
Best series of avengers series so far, the acting of the actors are top notch, and Jeremy Renner is perfect, Florence Pugh, Hailee Steinfield and Alaqua Cox are amazing, overall 10/10
Jack is based off Marvel's Jacques DuQuesne, a.k.a. "Swordsman," which is funny when you think back to his first interaction with Clint and how he called him "Archer" instead of Hawkeye.
I read that the original post credits scene was the miniaturized tracksuits trying to get away from the owl, but the execs at Disney decided that it would be to horrific for a Christmas show. So we got Rogers the Musical instead.
I think Oak said it perfectly, Marvel shows did quite well in their own style and tone, so it depends on which style you like or wanting to watch. I myself would rewatch Hawkeye for a light-heart funny mood with amazing chemistry between characters, but if I want a good cry, I'd rewatch Wandavision😂
My head canon regarding Clint's wife is also that she was shield agent 19 {in the comics with the code name Mockingbird} and she got the watch when she left shield ..and she was replaced by a new agent 19 Mockingbird with real name Bobbi Morse who appeared in the series Agents of Shield

I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Hawkeye was probably my favorite of the Marvel TV shows. I loved that the tv series incorporated aspects from Matt Fraction's Hawkeye comic run, which is probably one of the best versions of Hawkeye in the comics.
I really enjoyed Hawkeye.. I love that hey - as “realistic” as it can be - Clint is human.. a very skilled one but, he still gets older and gets injured, loses his hearing. I really loved that they showed this. Great reaction! Cant wait for Moon Knight 🖤
What a great show! I love that we finally get new Hawkeye and Black Widow and the friendship between Clint and Natasha continue with the friendship between Kate and Yelena Hailee Steinfield and Florence Pugh nailed their roles as Kate and Yelena so well that no one else can replace them as new Hawkeye and new Black Widow, thank you it is such an interesting journey to re-watch this amazing series with you Finally, this series is so underrated I hope more people will appreciate this beautiful series
Kingpin is not really superhuman. But he is incredibly strong and tough, as well as being a well trained fighter. If he seems indestructible, it goes back to how Daredevil got his red suit in the Netflix series. He tracked down Melvin Potter, who made Kingpin's suits ,which were made of an extremely lightweight body armor. He is definitely not Kingpin of all New York here. He is rebuilding after being in prison in the Daredevil and Punisher series.
Thank you for your reactions, I really enjoyed Hawkeye so much, because it is the most human amongst the other marvel series, it is like we spent Christmas time with Clint, Yelena, and Kate, it feels like Home..... such an awesome series
Unlike Nat, Yelena is a hired assassin with a bunch of people after her and her employer. Bringing her in, getting her to know their location, identities etc is a huge risk for his family, something he's trying to avoid at all costs. Besides, they aren't half as close as Clint and Nat were - in Ultron, Nat was the only one who knew of his family, likewise, Clint was the only person who knew about her sister. Also, if Clint can't fully forgive himself for Natasha's death, how do you think Yelena feels? This is a very different relationship. Giving her space now is the best Clint can do. I hope they will become friends later, especially since she and Kate became friends.
@@Zophiela Fair enough. I could see it play out either way. Just the unspoken comedy of Yelena and never knowing what she'll say to Clints family could see him needing eggnog spiked with something much stronger and soothing.
Sure they knew Nat and I agree they absolutely would've accepted her, but she didn't know them. As another commenter already mentioned, she's still working through shit. I feel like it'll start with her friendship with Kate, and if we continue to see their entwined stories long enough we will eventually see Yelena at the Barton family Christmas. It would be cool to see some sort of Widow and new Hawkeye series. It could be anything from saving the world to a European vacation *[or even just Kate taking Yelena to finally see the sights in New York]* and I'd watch it just to get more of Florence and Hailee's wonderful onscreen chemistry.
hawkeye was always one of my favorites since the first time i saw avengers 1d years ago they did such a good job with this series glad you had a good time with it as well
Love reacting with you guys! Think back to Age of Ultron when the Avengers first meet Laura Barton. Stark quipped.'This is an AGENT of some sort.' .....leave it to Tony to get it right first try. Also, now I can't wait to see you guys continue to follow Maya's story in Echo!
Mason said he had never seen Agents of Shield. Has anybody in Badd Medicine? You should REALLY consider it. It is a FANATASTIC show. Great story, acting, action, humor, it has it all. Plus there are connections to the movies. In fact that is what fustrates a lot of fans, they do have connections to the movies, but there is no connection (yet) to the show in the movies.
I remember Oak saying, around the time they started Wandavision, that at first he wasn't interested in Marvel TV shows because he thought it would be underwhelming content, like AoS. But I think think he has watched it, I think he just heard the criticism of early season 1 and just thought it's subpar content. Once they're caught up I hope they'll react to AoS, it's a GREAT series!
I think referencing Rambo is a perfect description for this. It haves us a street level view of things versus some of the other shows giving us more “Alien” or “Predator” vibes in terms of sci-fi disbelief. Keep em comin’ boys!
Also guys, if you’re really down for a long term show with great long storytelling, I definitely think Agents Of Shield would be something you would really enjoy and would be a great addition to what you all watch!
@@thorneto2742 until a certain point, yes I agree. However after said point I really don’t think the storytelling slows down like that again. Of course ups and downs as any show but imo it never looked back after said point.
@@thorneto2742 well, beginning of first season is not THAT bad, it just seems like we are watching CSI where the history leads nowhere, until the 'you know what' happens, but it has some good character development and comedy. I watched during a bad part of my life, so I guess this helped me a lot
On of my favorite You-Tube videos is Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) on the Tonight Show singing about his Superpowers, it's hilarious. Also, ECHO is a must it is stunningly beautiful.
Oh Mason needs to watch Arrow because there's LOTS of violence happening there, lol. I introduced my mom to it when it was in between seasons 1 and 2 and that woman was hooked. She started asking me on the night it aired, Arrow's on tonight, right? You think CW was the tame show universe? Nope, lol.
Agreed.......in my opinion the first 2 seasons of Arrow are fantastic. Yes you get some of the "CW" shenanigans in there, but it also gets pretty dark. I really think t the e guys would enjoy the guys would enjoy the story being told in those 2 seasons.
This my favorite of the disney plus marvel shows. There is no filler in the show and the story is complete in this 6 episode arc. Barton's wife is Agent 19, a deep cover agent of sheild, in the comics she becomes the superhero Mockingbird. Though it is never explained the main theory is that she had infiltrated Kingpin's organization or ither bad guys as an agent and that was one of the reasons why she and the family are hidden off the grid. The watch however contained info that would lead to her and her new identify putting them into danger.
I assume the watch and the Ronin suit were simply found in the wreckage of the Avengers compound together. Clint may have snatched Laura's Shield watch for sentimental value when he was taken in by Natasha during Endgame. This would explain why the tracksuit mafia were after it in the first place. Maya may have heard whispers of a mysterious watch that could blow the cover of Ronin in some way or another, but the watch was separated from the Ronin suit and sword through its transportation and organization ahead of the black market auction.
I think if we're honest about it, the only reason Kate walked away from her encounter with Kingpin is because he didn't see her as a threat. He kept turning his back on her to go after her defenseless mom to show just how unthreatened by her he felt. If Daredevil or even Maya had been the one to show up, Fisk would have forgotten about the mom pretty quick. As an aside, one thing I have never agreed on when it comes to Hawkeye, it is the notion that he has no powers. He has no powers like Stark has no powers, but where Stark has an unparalleled mind when it comes to technology, Clint has an unparalleled mind when it comes to situational awareness, at least where the MCU is concerned. He has repeatedly pulled off stunts that go beyond simply having excellent aim.
Another point to kingpin tanking stuff, he is likely wearing the body armor suit for protection. And not really wantung to kill a teenage girl out in the open
I think they just made him more comic book-y for this show. It's the same actor but it's a different version of Kingpin. That's why he's a tank, why he's just shoving Kate around, and why his henchmen are mostly incompetent comic relief.
Having seen this when it originally aired, I've been excitedly waiting for Mason Quinn to be vindicated about Jack. Also, if Quinn wants a more violent marvel series he needs to check out Echo. It's the first of the Marvel Disney+ series to get a TV-MA/mature rating.
The tracksuit used the old soviet philosophy to armung there guys. The second wave were supposed to pick up the guns from the fallen first wave...but the magnetic thing still had them. Heh that's what im going with at least
Bobbi Morris/Mockingbird character appeared in Agents of Shield, portrayed by Adrienne Palicki but she is a different iteration and has no relation to this Hawkeye universe.
-13:23 You guys probably don't remember back a couple of years when they found the owl in the big Christmas tree in New York in Rockefeller Plaza. This was a reference to that... -If you look up in your encyclopedia the name "Mockingbird", you will find Clints wife. That was her. She was an Avenger in the comics and partners with Hawkeye. When she retired from the Avengers/Westcoast Avengers, she got that watch. Not a true comic accurate portrayal, but close enough. That is why she has contacts and knows exactly what Clint is doing and was not at all surprised about The Avengers. Full circle... Oh, she's not in "The Agent's of Shield". They had another character that kind of mirrored "Mockingbird" but never called that... -King Pin doesn't have powers. He's just a big determined guy. He is stronger than the average human, but no powers... -Jack is based on "The Swordsman", same name, but no real ties to the MCU character... In the comics he is the one who trained Clint.
They combined Laura’s story with a love interest for Hawkeye in the comics and part of her identity with Shield was that she was agent 19. Thus the 19 on the watch. The owl in the New York Christmas tree was a nod to a few years back when an actual owl was still in the tree when they were setting it up a few years back.
Hey guys, Agents of SHIELD was a show but you need to remember that SHIELD agents just exist within the MCU and that symbol was the logo for their organisation, the symbol on the watch isn’t necessarily a specific reference to the TV series AoS.
"Sometimes family doesn't see eye to eye" with a gun pointed at his eye In the comics, Kingpin gets shot in the eye put survives. He just misses his eyesight for a while
That was a fun rewatch with you, guys. Thanks! Now I'm really looking forward to you watching Moo Knight. Loki, Hawkey and Moon Knight were my favorites of all the Marvel shows although Wanda Vision was good, too.
Hawkeye was one of the best D+ shows for me. I'm so glad that there is going to be a 2nd season of Hawkeye. When you guys get to Ms Marvel and She-Hulk I hope you give them a fair shot. The only MCU show that disappointed me was Secret Invasion.
The purple suits are more comic accurate. Hawkeye's wife used to work for SHEILD, thats why she wanted her watch back. They hired actual Broadway stars for the Rogers The Musical piece.
Time for the Hawkeyes to save Christmas! With the modernized comic accurate suits. It was a nice show which helped introduce and wrap up a fair amount of stuff given it only had 6 episodes. Plus Jack was just a silly little guy! A silly little Sword Master Guy. Fisk's role in the episode was not the full extent of what fans were expecting from him, but the stuff with Yelena, Clint and Kate was great, and all of the trick arrows! Also the watch is a nod to Mockingbird, Agent of Shield and in the comics an ex-Wife of Clint (though in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. it's another character using the hero's actual name, Bobbi Morse). Clint makes it home, we set up a Thunderbolt and a Young Avenger (Clint and Kate both share the codename Hawkeye), it's a Christmas Miracle.
This was my fav of the Marvel shows cause it was the most grounded & told a good story. I always wanted more of Hawkeye & was glad he finally got some spotlight time. The passing on of the torch like others have mentioned was done very naturally & not pushed to us viewers. Cast had good chemistry so that helps. The only minor gripe i had was that fight between Yelena & Kate was too goofy & unreal cause we all know Yelena could have wiped the floor w Kate. She is way beyond her skill level, but otherwise i loved this show. Glad u fellas enjoyed❤💞❤️
I looove this show, definitely up in my top 3 with Loki and Wandavision but for entirely different reasons. I love how grounded it is and it made me really care about Clint as a character, which I never had before. Also has one of my absolute favorite post credit scenes, tied with the Shawarma scene from Avengers. I prefer the silly ones over the ones that introduce important plot or cliffhangers
I feel like Oak maybe shouldn't assume that the magnet arrow just quit creating that field after the initial wave of track suits lost their guns. Apart from that, a great reaction as always! And don't worry, Mason: there's at least one fully-grown adult fan of the CW-Verse subbed to the channel who won't hold your initial comments about it against you! 😁👍
Love this series, the light tone of it does contrast with the darker side of Clint still trying to cope with the loss of both Natasha and his hearing. I appreciate the realness of Clint and I find this series more enjoyable than Loki, which just gets a bit too complicated for me!
The part you guys missed is that Kazi actually would have hit Clint but he takes the serving tray from the cosplayer, ducks and raises that to hit the bullet
When the avengers need a safe house they go to Clint’s farm. When Tony sees Clint’s wife he blurts ‘she’s an agent!’ Then the kids ‘smaller something agents’ It’s a tease or easter egg
Great job, guys, great fun. Loved the way Yelena and Clint settled differences in the end and of course Kate is a great new partner for Clint. BTW, Kingpin did have a bulletproof suit under his clothes in DD season one. Can’t wait to see what you casual fans watch next exc: Answer our super nerd lol👍🏻
Clint’s wife, Laura , was not in agents of shield the tv show. But a different version of the character is present in tv show: Bobbie Morse, aka mockingbird
Glad you guys liked the show. IMO, the best show marvel has made so far. Based on what I heard though, Oak hasn’t seen Daredevil or Punisher? That should be on the list for a future watch. Quinn and Answer can attest that they are really good shows and that would make for good reaction videos.
In the comics agent 19 is also known as Bobbi morse aka mockingbird. I think that before Laura got married and went off the map, she was Bobbi Morse but changed her name to Laura. You should definitely watch wandavison and falcon and the winter soldier
The implication of Clint's wife is that she's Agent 19 from the comics. HOWEVER, Agent 19 was already in Agents of SHIELD as a different actor and character, Bobbi Morse aka Mockingbird. The implication is that Clint's wife held the moniker of Agent 19 first before the AoS character.
If you'd like to see the entire show for Rogers the Musical, there are plenty of videos from when it was performed at Disney California Adventure. The first act is actually really good. Act 2 is this sequence mostly and super cheese. Final act kind of combines the serious and silly but overall it's a lot of fun.
Okay so I'm a big marvel fan. And for several years I have been anticipating/making my own theory that they are introducing the whole of the Young Avengers. I'm sure this isn't news, or if they've finally announced it but it's just what I have been thinking. Like the Answer, I have a big marvel book I look at for references I spot in movies and shows. One of my absolute favorite heroes is Wiccan (second is moon knight) and when I saw in WandaVision that they introduced the twins, Billy and Tommy, (Wiccan and Speed) I paid very close attention to other things. They have young loki in loki like you've seen as well, and remember Isaiahs grandson from Falcon and the Winter Soldier? Now you've seen Kate Bishop, and don't forget Scott Langs daughter from the movies. That's all I can mention from what I know you've seen already but don't forget those characters! There are others but I would love the Answer to look at his encyclopedia and see what he thinks❤
Kingpin has no powers, but he has obsessively conditioned his body over the years. Underneath the layers of fat is a dense wall of muscle which makes him incredibly strong, agile for his size, and damn near unstoppable.
Jack is actually an old, goofy character called Swordsman. His abilities were that he was pretty good with a sword. In the original Hawkeye story, Swordsdman actually trained Hawkeye. It was kind of something for those of us with the old lore of Marvel. He was for a brief time in the 60's an Avenger and is commonly considered amongst us oldsters the lamest part of the lamest Avengers line up.
KingPin is not fat, he's misshapen. What looks like fat is muscles. It's always been thought that he is a mutant but I don't think it was ever explicitly said that he was a mutant.
The fact it didn't involve some cosmic threat and a sky beam helped too. It was grounded and it was fun.

Yelena:- "My sister loved Nathaniel. Where else would I be at Christmas time Clint Barton?"
I don’t think Yelena is ready for that yet. She’s still working through things.
It could be anything from saving the world to a European vacation *[or even just Kate taking Yelena to finally see the sights in New York]* and I'd watch it just to get more of Florence and Hailee's wonderful onscreen chemistry.
hawkeye was always one of my favorites since the first time i saw avengers 1d years ago
they did such a good job with this series
glad you had a good time with it as well
Love reacting with you guys!
Now you guys need to watch Echo to get her full story!!
Agent 19 is Mockingbird
I think referencing Rambo is a perfect description for this. It haves us a street level view of things versus some of the other shows giving us more “Alien” or “Predator” vibes in terms of sci-fi disbelief. Keep em comin’ boys!
I had a grin the whole series for Mason getting it right about Jack Duquesne, who is known as the Swordsman in the comics. :)
This is the second time Linda Cardellini has waited for her husband to get back for Christmas Day! Love Green Book.
Also guys, if you’re really down for a long term show with great long storytelling, I definitely think Agents Of Shield would be something you would really enjoy and would be a great addition to what you all watch!
Agents of shield gets quite fun but that first season is extremely rough to watch lol
@@thorneto2742 first half more like, then THAT happens
@@thorneto2742 until a certain point, yes I agree. However after said point I really don’t think the storytelling slows down like that again. Of course ups and downs as any show but imo it never looked back after said point.
@@thorneto2742 well, beginning of first season is not THAT bad, it just seems like we are watching CSI where the history leads nowhere, until the 'you know what' happens, but it has some good character development and comedy. I watched during a bad part of my life, so I guess this helped me a lot
If they ever did a multi season show I’d hope it’s agents of shield 🙏🙏🙏
Jack is a character called the Swordsman in the comics. He might come into play later as a good guy! But that's him.
I always feel like they were setting up Yelena and Kate to be like Clint and Natasha - the new Black Widow and Hawkeye pairing. Great idea!
It was really fun to rewatch this series with you guys!!
On of my favorite You-Tube videos is Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) on the Tonight Show singing about his Superpowers, it's hilarious. Also, ECHO is a must it is stunningly beautiful.
That's probably the start of Echo's story. Her show takes off relatively after the events of this.
Also, the "Hawkeye" series was a Disney+ Christmas release, so it was intended to be very lighthearted and kinda campy
@@Renoistic there is definitely some of that too. But when he first gets shot by the arrow and breaks it off it looks like there is something under
Hawkeye and MoonKnight were my favorite Disney + series.. since Oak hasn’t seen DareDevil perhaps you might consider the Netflix marvel shows..?😁
Having seen this when it originally aired, I've been excitedly waiting for Mason Quinn to be vindicated about Jack. Also, if Quinn wants a more violent marvel series he needs to check out Echo. It's the first of the Marvel Disney+ series to get a TV-MA/mature rating.
Great show Love Hawkeye he is one of my favourite avengers
Armand is not The Swordsman, Jacgues is.
Yelena and Kate and then Yelena and Clint were the best scenes.
I loved this show
They combined Laura’s story with a love interest for Hawkeye in the comics and part of her identity with Shield was that she was agent 19. Thus the 19 on the watch. The owl in the New York Christmas tree was a nod to a few years back when an actual owl was still in the tree when they were setting it up a few years back.
the musical was awesome, that was the reward :D
Hey guys, Agents of SHIELD was a show but you need to remember that SHIELD agents just exist within the MCU and that symbol was the logo for their organisation, the symbol on the watch isn’t necessarily a specific reference to the TV series AoS.
"Sometimes family doesn't see eye to eye" with a gun pointed at his eye
In the comics, Kingpin gets shot in the eye put survives.
They mention in one of the movies that clint met his wife in shield
The musical song was super catchy!!
I prefer the silly ones over the ones that introduce important plot or cliffhangers
the trick arrows were giving major home alone in new york vibes 😂
I feel like Oak maybe shouldn't assume that the magnet arrow just quit creating that field after the initial wave of track suits lost their guns.
Apart from that, a great reaction as always!
And don't worry, Mason: there's at least one fully-grown adult fan of the CW-Verse subbed to the channel who won't hold your initial comments about it against you! 😁👍
I just hope the Young Avengers movie isn't a stinker, because I really like both Ms Marvel and Kate.
Love this series, the light tone of it does contrast with the darker side of Clint still trying to cope with the loss of both Natasha and his hearing. I appreciate the realness of Clint and I find this series more enjoyable than Loki, which just gets a bit too complicated for me!
This episode has my favorite MCU end credits scene! 🙃
The part you guys missed is that Kazi actually would have hit Clint but he takes the serving tray from the cosplayer, ducks and raises that to hit the bullet
When the avengers need a safe house they go to Clint’s farm. When Tony sees Clint’s wife he blurts ‘she’s an agent!’ Then the kids ‘smaller something agents’
It’s a tease or easter egg
Re the LARPers - I mean, New Yorkers have learned that when someone in a goofy costume tells you to do something, you do it. Makes total sense to me!
Loved this series m! Thanks for reacting! Have you ever reacted to The Accountant?
Great job, guys, great fun. Loved the way Yelena and Clint settled differences in the end and of course Kate is a great new partner for Clint. BTW, Kingpin did have a bulletproof suit under his clothes in DD season one. Can’t wait to see what you casual fans watch next exc: Answer our super nerd lol👍🏻
Can't wait for you guys to get to Echo or to be completely caught up in time for the Marvel series coming out in March.
Correction, best show marvel had made post-Endgame.
I believe clint wife is mocking bird in the comics mocking bird and hawkeye are partners
I have a red dot and a laser, but peq-15 laser unit for example also has IR, and a flashlight, not just a red laser or a green laser.
Maya’s and Kingpin story continues in the show echo. If u like this one u should like that one.
An Agents of Shield reaction will be amazing. 🙌
I can do this all…DAAAAAAAAY 😂 amazing
KingPin is not fat, he's misshapen. What looks like fat is muscles. It's always been thought that he is a mutant but I don't think it was ever explicitly said that he was a mutant.
